- tj241, on 07/23/2008, -0/+18The only problem with this list is that there are 500 reasons why they do not put BMX bikers to shame
- Dotcommer, on 07/24/2008, -3/+20Burried for "3+2" in title.
Also buried because this is incredibly lame. I don't doubt the skill, but its just not impressive looking. - hollywoodphony, on 07/23/2008, -0/+11As far as the motorized unicycle goes, is it really a unicycle if it has skids on it?
- jshare, on 07/23/2008, -2/+12I don't think anyone doubts that it's harder than motocross, but it sure doesn't look as cool
- TStanNY, on 07/24/2008, -0/+8Why doesn't the title just say 5 reasons? Why is Digg making me do math?
- inactive, on 07/24/2008, -1/+7looks like a glorified pogo stick
- AshevilleRaised, on 07/24/2008, -0/+5One reason unicycles will never match bmx.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZp5Zui_poc - seastobble, on 07/24/2008, -0/+4extreme unicycling lol
- strikertp, on 07/24/2008, -0/+3Anyone else wondering how bruised their balls must be? I mean landing a jump must be like a punch to the ballsack.
- NomortaL1, on 07/24/2008, -0/+3buried for using BMX and extreme in the same sentence
- MacTyler, on 07/24/2008, -0/+3I cant imagine that that fairs well for the "children" if you know what I mean.
- biofreak12, on 07/24/2008, -0/+3true
- leetdood, on 07/24/2008, -0/+3Too bad unicycles aren't fast. Also, motorized unicycles don't count because they are no longer unicycles if they have skids, handlebars, and a motor. It becomes a land skidoo.
- 1Bad, on 07/24/2008, -0/+3I am pretty sure soccer is the most watched sport in the world. I don't personally like it, but I respect it more than circle driving or whatever you call it.
- mKuenzel, on 07/24/2008, -0/+3So this is what circus clowns do on their days off
- imakeartwork, on 07/24/2008, -0/+3unicycle will not get you laid, Nuff Said.
- CloseYetFar, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2Wow, those kids are very talented. They are much better then I ever was on my BMX bike. To bad they look so gay.
- XorpheusX, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2I dugg this just for the first video. Mind-boggling.
As for me, I don't think I could even look at a unicycle without falling down. - RadiatedAnt, on 07/24/2008, -2/+4this was lame. BMX will smoke any of these dweebs.
- windycityhxc, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2I think I'll go play Uniracers on SNES now.
- chester27, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2That's how I roll.
- tragicflaw, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2Directed at the author but his website has comment moderation and I'll doubt he'll approve any now that it's been dugg:
"While I will admit that unicycling requires well honed skills it is a totally different sport than BMX or MTB. The skills required to do any sport do not take away from the skills required to do any other sport. Not only that but all the videos you showed as evidence don't seem to be very impressive or persuasive. The motocross one doesn't make any sense in your argument at all as it is also a totally different sport than riding a non-motorized unicycle. Your strength argument is just wrong based on simple physics as the weight of a unicycle is much less than that of a bike and does not require the same amount of force to jump or absorb landings. Basically all you have proved is that to do exactly the same trick, like jump down a set of three steps, is more difficult on a unicycle than on a bike but you have not even remotely proved that as a sport unicycling is more difficult than any other sport. As you yourself are a perfect example, you were not able to progress in the sport of BMX and could not keep up with the local kids but somehow you are a big shot on a unicycle." - rjhomuth, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2#6: Ultimate Banzuke.
- biofreak12, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2Cool. Now they can work at the circus .
These clowns have some skills. - Culyt, on 07/24/2008, -0/+2Submitter, for future reference 3+2 = 5

- rjinswand, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1because i can't have a 10 foot tall bicycle... (will add pic later today when i get to my main PC)
- sickens, on 07/24/2008, -1/+2burried for being retarted. bmx is FAR superior in every way, shape & form.
- Panopticism, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1Wow, you... you really..
....
/facepalm - Noctal, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1Well that depends on the kind of unicycle you're riding. A 'coker' for example (usually something around 36" wheels) can go pretty danged fast.
- Noctal, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1I have a Torker LX in the corner of my living room right now that I never really learned to ride more than a few meters... I think it's time I pull it back out.
- BOFH2, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1Not a big fan of either but here are some things about each that are freaky to me.
Soccer
1. fanatic fans
2. too much running
3. serious rivarlys that get violent ( I know almost the same as the fan thing but who wants to die over a game?)
Nascar
1. You drive 300 to 500 miles every weekend for (i really don't know how long they run)
2. it is over 110 degrees in that car - no potty breaks or anything of the sort( hope last nights burrito is sitting okay never mind the 2 bran muffins and a cup of coffee)
3. Driving that long at an average speed of over 150 mph - I did 120 once it was not fun. - jd72277, on 07/24/2008, -1/+2unicycles and rollerblades tie in lameness.
- diggopolous, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1After you all take the trip to the library and learn what a metaphor is, I'd like to introduce you to an example of a simile
Here's an example of a simile:
Jotate comes off like a smug know-it-all. - CbME, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1What do they call that little grab they do to jump? A ***** grab?
- imakeartwork, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1this is a glorified pogo stick
http://www.flybar.com/pages/home.html - dvsbastard, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1Almost as cool as extreme ironing...
http://www.extremeironing.com/ - radsprack, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1Well the other reasons don't hold up all that well. The only difficulty i see there is that you have to be far more balanced and you have to pedal backwards as well as forwards. The fact that you have to use much more muscle to get it off the ground kinda takes a nosedive when you realize that these things weigh half of what their counterparts do.
- cdtoad, on 07/24/2008, -4/+4doesn't matter how heavy the music is in the background... it's a unicycle... and unicycles are GHAY!
- phyr3x, on 07/24/2008, -0/+0Honestly, the only person that makes mountain unicycling look just as cool as mountain biking (I mean flow-wise) is Kris Holm. Just go to Youtube and search for him. He is awesome.
- phyr3x, on 07/24/2008, -0/+0Uni is cool and does take more balance for sure, but I am not so sure about speed and strength. Those things weigh less than the triple crown fork (Fox 40) on my IH Sunday. Plus, you can't go nearly as fast, which is part of the exhilaration of mountain biking. On a DH bike, you can wip down hills at break neck speeds, whereas you can't on a Uni because you would be pedaling your ass off. There is no arguing that one is better than the other or more "manly" than the other. They are different and both "manly", but in different regards. The thrill on unis is showing off your crazy balance skills to the world. On mountain bikes (I can't speak for BMX cuz I don't do it), the thrill is going fast and jumping (I mean off jumps, not this "jumping" on Unis that is more like bike 'trials' stuff).
- jotate, on 07/24/2008, -1/+11Bad, I'm with you. I just also have heard the phrase "soccer fag" about thirty times more than I've ever heard people rip on NASCAR in any offline environment.
Besides, it was just a metaphor. Extreme unicycling may in fact be way more involved and impressive than BMX. But it's going to get the same respect in the US that soccer gets compared to NASCAR, despite the fact that NASCAR is retarded.
For other examples of metaphors, see your local library. - phyr3x, on 07/24/2008, -0/+0Digg this if you think that downhill/freeride mountain biking is way more extreme than that "mountain unicycling" they showed in the article. Total lame sauce! It's just like urban, but mother nature replaces concrete and asphalt.
- stevenshep22, on 07/24/2008, -0/+0I'd love to see one of those guys totally eat it. Maybe it'll teach them to ride something with at least two wheels.
- ibmetom, on 07/24/2008, -0/+0I wonder about some people and their choice of recreation. Is it for their own pleasure or is there a huge "Hey look at me !!" factor, especially these days of youtubosity.
- droit, on 12/11/2008, -0/+0thansk for sharing
