- akseitz, on 11/01/2009, -3/+30I'd prefer it in a GIF
- Masquatto, on 11/01/2009, -4/+18C'mon, I've done WAY awesomer things in Tony Hawk Pro Skater!
- notzak, on 11/01/2009, -0/+12I think skateboarding videogames have permanently skewed my perceptions about what is impressive on a skateboard. Then again I only tried to drop into a bowl once and the only move I pulled off was a faceplant at the base of the bowl.
- mm63, on 11/01/2009, -3/+12Quick. Somebody please make a gif out of these :D
- zionoe, on 11/01/2009, -0/+7Truly Awesome..
- tehWhisp, on 11/01/2009, -0/+6This is my fav: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wCyevBec9Y
It's not an image sequence, or a gif, but an actual video! =O *gasp* - EverTheCynic, on 11/01/2009, -1/+5This seems a bit regressive. You can shoot video and then split that into 30 frames per second, which would be closer to seeing "every bit of the action." Or you can watch the episode of Time Warp where they shot at 1000 frames per second and really see everything:

Too bad about the lame Discovery Channel voiceover guy though. - Linake, on 11/01/2009, -1/+5I wish I had the talent and the guts to skateboard! Incredible.
Guess I'll just go back to Pro Skater 2 with Masquatto... - fcrow, on 11/01/2009, -0/+3v...i..d...e..ooo o_O
- rasalibre4life, on 11/01/2009, -0/+3quick, somebody make a gif out of these, because the average digger is not interested enough to actually watch the video. less information please.
- vdopower, on 11/01/2009, -0/+3yeah you are dumb.
- CbME, on 11/01/2009, -0/+2There is going to be a lot of motion blur when pulling video stills (from 30p or 60p), for the most part. For print; it looks very cheap. Shooting @1000 FPS (especially if you plan on pulling stills) is going to require a camera such as a Phantom as well as requiring A LOT of light to get proper exposure... In the video you posted you can see them burning a few 4k (4000 watt) HMI's that are worked in super close...
- NoUltimatum, on 11/01/2009, -1/+3Quick. Somebody make a comment about making a GIF. out of these.
- IamSweetShadow, on 11/01/2009, -0/+2cool! alway's love the Deawon duals!
- Foenetik, on 11/01/2009, -0/+2just go pick up a transworld.
- NeoSporin, on 11/01/2009, -0/+2definitely not average tricks.
- po43292, on 11/01/2009, -0/+1I would like to see a GIF made from these. Post haste!
- FLCProductions, on 11/01/2009, -5/+6Please make a .GIF!
- WoWii, on 11/01/2009, -0/+1Most difficult sport created by man.
- mcwattersm, on 11/01/2009, -0/+1Yeah I wish Transworld stopped putting sequences into their issues and started putting GIFs in them.
- HelpmeempleH, on 11/28/2009, -0/+1Really cool skateboarding video -

1000 + likes on Vimeo so far. - onederboy, on 11/01/2009, -0/+1This is what you all get for all your "Please top with the animated GIFs!" comments. Happy now?
- vdopower, on 11/01/2009, -0/+1yeah i think your perceptions are skewed cause you never ride. ;)
- onederboy, on 11/01/2009, -0/+1*stop
Missed the edit window due to not paying attention. - infoxicated, on 11/01/2009, -0/+1Some great tricks there - I didn't mind the fact they were stills, either, as it helps to see the weight distribution and other intricacies involved. It was also interesting to note the absence of helmets or protection, too - I guess these guys are too cool for that.
- EverTheCynic, on 11/01/2009, -0/+1It depends what you shoot with. Here is an example of the Tina Fey Vanity Fair "photo" shoot that used video shot on a Red One to produce the stills for the magazine.

This certainly seems like a more effective way to get a sequence of usable shots than a 9 fps stills camera.
I'm not suggesting this is an everyman approach to photography as it's obviously cost prohibitive to most people, as is the Phantom camera for high speed video. However, it goes to show that there are better options out there for this kind of subject matter and someone who can't afford to use these options should concentrate on the more traditional approach of good composition to make individual shots that impress rather than a lackluster sequence of shots. - vanilla3five, on 11/02/2009, -0/+1will you be my friend, we can wear matching elbow pads and helmets and go to the mall to do some radical skateboarding menuvers
- elarson, on 11/01/2009, -0/+1I want larger images.
- bloogey, on 11/02/2009, -0/+1There is something about these, even the new HD skate videos doesn't capture. A lot of great pics, and tech stuff, but my fav has to be -->
Louie Barletta - Wallie Boardslide Transfer - fcrow, on 11/01/2009, -1/+1Now that was real skating with pink elephants and all that! I don't know what this is but it looks like some whuzzy version of skating.
- arfike, on 11/02/2009, -1/+1Yeah, try the tricks yourself, then you'll appreciate what these guys do. My primary mode of transportation for about a year was skateboard, and I still can't do so much as an ollie. I'm no klutz, either -- awesome musician/video gamer and am pretty decent at sports.
- MrForbs, on 11/01/2009, -1/+1<PigsCantFly> D00D MY MUM SAID SHE DOESNT WANT ME SKATING IN THE HOUSE BUT I WAS LIKE NO WAY HITLER AND I KICK-FLIPPED TO INDY GRIND ON THE CAT
- arfike, on 11/02/2009, -0/+0Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2: Best parks in any of their games. Never played Skate, but none of the games I've played since Pro Skater 2 hold up to, say, the high school, Versailles, etc.
Dug for the mention of Pro Skater 2. - inactive, on 11/01/2009, -2/+2These pics make me relatively horny
- KingGorilla, on 11/01/2009, -2/+1These look like average tricks that you could easily look up on youtube
- Runnamuck62, on 11/01/2009, -3/+1I honestly would rather watch someone play tony hawk than watch the X-Games. I just keep thinking, "He so could have pulled a 900 right then."
