Wind-powered car hopes to smash 116.7mph world record

smartplanet.com — A British 'sail car' hopes to break the wind-powered speed record this month to raise awareness of zero carbon vehicles. Ecotricity founder Dale Vince and engineer Richard Jenkins plan to smash the current 116.7mph record with their specially-designed Greenbird vehicle.

    The Greenbird site is great but for anyone who just wants the headline info, the story summarises it. The story also adds some background context to Dale Vince's work on electric cars.
