Regardless of what you think about al gore and global warming, when the government censors the reports from the scientists that I'm paying (with my tax money), the issue is officially moot. Consider global warming real until I get all the information, uncensored and unabridged. - nytewalker, on 10/26/2007, -1/+13They call it "editing" as a euphemism to get morons, like most of Americans, to not realize they are censoring it. It really grinds my gears when they do this *****. Especially since it fools the majority of Americans.
- roberto_deneero, on 10/26/2007, -2/+13They edited the election in 2000 too. This is news??
- inactive, on 10/26/2007, -1/+9so why bother with the testimony in the first place?
- perozo, on 10/26/2007, -2/+9Is not the first time they do that.
- Ozzsanity, on 10/26/2007, -3/+9I wait for George Bushes Texas ranch to dry up and blow away carrying the whole clan of inbred ***** to Hell.
- galleryfront, on 10/26/2007, -1/+6Let's just sweep all these problems under the rug and hopefully someone will deal with them in 2009. Good God.
- JustinHorne, on 10/26/2007, -1/+6I think I want to hurt something. I'd say what, but I don't like random visits from the FBI.
Seriously though, how does this not get viewed as ACTUALLY insane? - inactive, on 10/26/2007, -1/+6How can we believe anything our government says, especially if someone profits, special interests (formally called selfish interests) benefit or liberties are removed in the name of "protection?"
We cannot. - nonymous666, on 10/28/2007, -2/+5That's not what this is about. The report could have stated that there's no such thing as global warming and if the adminstration edited it to reverse that finding it would still be just as bad.
- ImOscar, on 10/26/2007, -1/+3This is simply not telling the whole truth. I used this tactic all the time when I was a teenager trying to keep my parents from knowing things. If it's good enough for teens with a bad attitude it's got to be good enough for the Bush administration.
- NuneeDigger, on 10/26/2007, -2/+4Censoring science. What's next Dubya?
- geometry, on 10/26/2007, -0/+2Jesus will save us!
- nonymous666, on 10/26/2007, -1/+3"60 minutes" did a story last year on something very much like this. Some scientific group his hired by the whitehouse to do a study on global warming. The group file the report, and the whitehouse doesn't like the results, so they edit it deleting content and changing the context of what remained. It was like hollywood producers getting a copy of Cameron's "Titanic" script and changing it so that the ship doesn't sink.
- cmost, on 10/26/2007, -0/+2People keep Digging these types of stories and people post comments but where is the goddamn outrage?!?!? Are people so passe these days that they forget who this country belongs to? Our government is seriously wacked; it's run by filthy rich people who've been in office for decades in some cases and hopelessly out of touch with ordinary citizens. All decisions are based on protecting economic dominance and the continual concentration of wealth and money by a very few. The rest of us are just f**cked! Come on folks, it's time for action!!!!!!!
- Terr01, on 10/26/2007, -1/+3Abducting citizens of the US and other countries and holding them "indefinitely" for years without access to a lawyer or any charges filed against them or any sort of court appearance? Check.
Using "Enhanced Interrogation" techniques that were mainstays of the USSR gulags and the Spanish Inquisition? Check.
Trying to use confessions obtained by doing "not torture" as evidence of guilt? Check.
Now *those* are reputation-killers. - Terr01, on 10/25/2007, -0/+1Okay, Class: Who can tell everyone what sarver311 didn't notice before answering?
- Thor, on 10/26/2007, -1/+2So when will someone have the courage to call the press secretary (president, vis-president, etc) a LIAR? Are all americans cowards?
- geometry, on 10/25/2007, -0/+1Somebody left their sarcasm detector at home today.
- satx, on 10/26/2007, -0/+1How do I shot web?
- rnwen2750, on 10/26/2007, -1/+2Since being "elected" president makes you such an expert on all things that have ever and will ever occur.
- sarver311, on 10/26/2007, -1/+2And you are basing this on what? Dismissive comments like this are completely useless without some basis. I agree scientists are certainly fallible and susceptible to clinging to certain paradigms until a shift in thought occurs but here is the bottom line. Even if global warming is incorrect the measures that are recommended to combat it will still benefit our environment greatly. We ARE polluting our environment and we ARE running out of resources and wasting them needlessly so if people make a false assumption that ends up helping our environment anyways then I'm all for it. And what if YOU are wrong about your conclusion Phore? Personally I'd like to err on the side of caution.
- JoelBakan01, on 10/26/2007, -1/+1See! There is a political solution to global warming.
But seriously, global warming is just more fear mongering. With so much for us to be afraid of they don't need to promise to make our lives better just safer. It's a lot easier to give more power to police than reduce poverty, tackle healthcare, etc... - thomasprebble, on 10/26/2007, -2/+2Don't fascist dictatorships also do this?
- phore, on 10/26/2007, -7/+7Global warming is just a fad. Just like that whole evolution thing, its just a theory. Scientists aren't paid to think, they are paid to put their name on a document that I can then edit and make it say whatever I want it to say.
- elvisB, on 10/26/2007, -2/+2SIGH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay, global warming, just like Osama(CIA asset), is a manufactured boogey man. I was watching CNN at a friend's house the other day(I shot my own tv a long time ago) and I just about ***** a brick. They came back from a commercial break with this overwhelming, uber-sensational *****: PLANET IN PERIL! The CNN logo was also green not red, how sweet:) The sky is falling, government, please deliver us from this evil just like you saved us from the primitive, cave-dwelling terrorists that managed to undermine the most sophisticated air defense apparatus in the world, over the most defended airspace. Physics also bent over backwards that day, maybe Al Qaeda employs a wizard like Gandolf only really mean:( Anyway, after they were done going "oogey boogey woogey!" a little message popped up saying "this segment brought to you by Conoco Phillips". That speaks for itself. Then just this morning on my radio I caught a little bit of Democracy Now, with Amy Goodman talking about, you guessed it, global warming. She was discussing a conspiracy amongst the petrol giants to pay off universities to put out dis info that disproves that global warming is caused by man. I don't doubt that they are doing that, but can you see what I'm getting at? It's another charade, the technology to free us from petrol has been around for a long time. Tesla figured out how to give the world free, abundant, and clean energy a century ago! The world runs on petrol and credit, both monopolized by the same cabal. It's like the two snakes wrapped around the caduceus, a reinforced noose around humanity's neck. You hear these ***** say we need to explore alternative energy resources, but they never talk about that in detail, they just humor you with a little lip service. Their answer is a global carbon tax. WTF!? Are they going to buy a new ozone layer with that? All the real independent scientists that don't have to tow the line to keep their funding are saying it's solar activity. Massive ice caps are melting on other planets in this solar system and last time I checked, they don't have SUVs. Solar activity is over 90% of the cause, and most of the rest is from all the concrete and asphalt coverage which are massive heat sinks. False flag terror ops have been thoroughly exposed, global warming is getting there as well. Maybe plan C is BIRD FLU: back with a vengeance! Or maybe an approaching asteroid! Remember the boy who cried wolf? In this instance, it turns out that the boy is the wolf. C'mon people, see the big ass ears, the teeth, the.... oh what's the use?
- nonymous666, on 10/26/2007, -2/+2Not cowards. Just apathetic.
- geometry, on 10/26/2007, -1/+1Fool me once and fool on you... oh never mind.
- nonymous666, on 10/26/2007, -2/+1Not cowards. Just apathetic.
- inactive, on 10/26/2007, -4/+3How the mighty U.S.A. has fallen. Fighting and Dying for Democracy, will it's leaders wipe their arze with the spirit of it. I am 'sure' the average American has no idea how it's reputation in the World has fallen. It is now akin to that of a banana republic, and governed as such. Truly, the World stands and stares in astonishment at the implosion.
- inactive, on 10/28/2007, -7/+6GLOBAL WARMING!!! FEAR! FEAR! VOTE DEMOCRAT! FEAR! GLOBAL WARMING! FEAR! FEAR!
Jesus, will you Warm-Mongers ever stop? - buildmorerobots, on 10/26/2007, -3/+2meh, who needs science?
- nonymous666, on 10/26/2007, -3/+1Not cowards. Just apathetic.
- nonymous666, on 10/26/2007, -3/+1wtf? sorry.
- fixedcoma, on 10/26/2007, -3/+1there goes publics right to information, another right stripped from us!*****' *****!
- palindrome12, on 10/26/2007, -3/+1Bah! How can you take anybody seriously with the last name of Gerberding?
