- catalysis, on 10/10/2007, -3/+27Wow, tree hugger has quite a few spam accounts. Looks like they have been doing this for quite a while.

the list goes on and on.. - euphemizeme, on 10/10/2007, -12/+24Is Treehugger.com now a paid advertiser on Digg? Honestly, the number of articles mysteriously getting bumped to the front page is borderline spam. Digg is for finding new stuff you probably wouldn't on your own, so when every damn article from a single site gets submitted it's a bit over the top. We can type in treehugger.com into our browser bars if we want to see more of the same stuff.
- jhnewt, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4This is why hybrid cars are borderline retarded.
- Number17, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Here is an article (not in English) with some more pictures of this same car. It's very different from the other Volvo cars out there.
http://www.autoviaggiando.com/2006/01/11/volvo-c30-concept - JAVandiver, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Same thing with Raw Story, MacWorld, Endagaget, and even Ars Technica...
- crackedplastic, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6Remember the whole "Digg gaming" controversy a while back? Seems like it's still happening. Buried as spam.
- 10goto10, on 10/10/2007, -7/+9I'm glad cool is clean again.
- djagia, on 10/10/2007, -4/+644 diggs on the front page.... wtf?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2According to Volvo's website the C30 gets an impressive 0 mpg: http://www.volvocars.us/models/c30/techSpec.htm
- dicerandom, on 10/10/2007, -5/+7Inaccurate: Volvo has never made anything cool, ever.
- rockchops, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5Kudos to Volvo. I'd buy that car.
- 0260, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2they are doing what volkswagen is doing with their bluemotion line. vw polo gets up to 60MPG
- ThumpinD, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2BTW, slipped in there quietly is the fact that it's a diesel. Diesel engines by design tend to get higher mileage. If it were a gasoline engine of similar specs, I believe the mileage would drop to around 30-35mpg.
- ChildeRoland420, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1As someone who knows a master mechanic on his 3rd Volvo, I say you are full of *****. One of them saved his live against a town car, btw.
- kenvsryu, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Volvo is so boring, I'd rather walk.
- JAVandiver, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3I love the C30 and it will most likely be my next car. I am not an environmentalist, but I really like the cost savings of getting 50 mpg. Volvo is the only part of Ford that is doing anything right.
- kirb59y, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I would have said they made clean but cool but that's just me.
- ncc74656m, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The issue is not with Toyota and Honda making clean, but, as you said, it's making it cool. Supposedly the heir to the Supra will be a hybrid.
- theholycow, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The head-on view was fine...then "cool" quickly became "icky" as other angles became visible.
Thanks for a non-treehugger link. - trev0006, on 12/17/2007, -0/+150mpg sounds cool to me, with the recent fuel prices I am want to get rid of my V8 gas guzzler. http://www.discountpartcenter.com
- Sube6491, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Why the ***** does every hybrid, diesel, or any other fuel efficient car have the ***** UGLIEST wheels they could find?! The diesel C30 wheels look like *****, why couldn't they just use the ones from the gasoline C30?
- pixelbasic, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Might want to check out Catalysis' comment about four down below.
- floppyparty, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I think that the Prius will go farther then any volvo in making Green cool. Sorry
- bakshi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1O RLY? Where do you get your infor? And how come there are 2 of them parked outside the dealership I work at? Keep in mind I work at a dealership in MA, USA.
It's already in production. It's the least expensive and one of the most powerful little cars in the Volvo lineup. I bet the ride is great, because I've driven S40's and that's what the C30 is based on. - tacom8, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1he probably fits this easy to use "Anything but a Volvo" selection criteria:
1) not a soccer mom
2) has a soul (see above)
seriously tho, safety be damned i'd rather be a broken bolt away from a firery grave then drive a Volvo... - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Both Unleaded Petrol and Diesel are the same price at the pump right now so what's the problem?
- hiro, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2Loads of cars in this class (BMW, Audi, Merc etc) have been getting this sort of fuel economy for a while now and sadly no Volvo (even the slightly better looking C30) is cool yet. I'm behind one on my way to work quite often, and it's a very awkward ungainly car in real life just like its forebear the 480ES. I'll pass
- magnusswede, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Sweden rocks!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0volvo sucks
- thoth92, on 10/10/2007, -3/+3Dugg for being a good story, buried for being spam.
- ChildeRoland420, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1And you would know this how?
- flatpick, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Volvo = safe. Volvo != cool.
- indie1982, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Am I missing something here? Diesel cars we get here in the UK have easily gotten 60+ MPG for years. What is this American fascination with big engined cars? 1.9 litre Turbo Diesels have plenty of power, my 2 litre naturally aspirated petrol car gets 35-40 MPG and tops out at 140 MPH.
- Motocompo, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2Finally! Someone in the car industry got it right!
- PlumDumb, on 10/10/2007, -7/+6Buried as spam
If I wanted to see car commercials every day I'd watch television. I don't need this ***** everywhere. - dtrav001, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0"... every car manufacturer should be doing this." ... these ridiculously simple things. Yea yea!
- adamflight, on 06/28/2009, -1/+0yeah they are very safe, i'm just saying mechanically they have a many flaws, that if you don't have a warranty will cost you a lot of money.
- wassim2k, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1"green" news is just the thing now. Remember that Digg is run by Diggers, so who should you blame?
- gordonf238, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1Treehugger really needs to upgrade their servers. Besides, the car is a concept. Translation: It will never see the light of day.
- lispy, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1Blogspam aside, I really like this vehicle. the price is right, too. So, why all the hate? I'd probably buy it once my old car is paid. :)
- adamflight, on 06/28/2009, -3/+1great so now when you have to send you buggy Volvo back once again, you won't feel so bad about hurting the planet.
i say this because as any experienced Volvo owner knows, these things, don't have very high building standards!! (make sure u get the full warranty!!!) - floppyparty, on 10/10/2007, -5/+3Thats GREAT TO HEAR! Maybe those other car companies like Toyota and Honda can do their part in making clean cool as well.
- Redemption289, on 10/10/2007, -5/+3Okay sure, because I'm sure every digger subscribes to a big list of sites that they shouldn't post from. I don't see what your problem is. Its not like its repetitive content, it just happens to be the same site (different articles). Its not like its hurting anyone so you should probably just get over it. Whine more please.
- noodlez, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1no, treehugger is just a popular blog and there are probably enough cross-users with digg to get their more interesting stuff promoted regularly.
there's a lot of MSNBC and CNN crap on digg too, maybe they're paid advertisers too, huh? - Eccs, on 10/10/2007, -7/+2About time.. cool was getting to be pretty dirty.
