- diggface5000, on 10/10/2007, -0/+71lol at the submitter being the winner
- heartcoldfusion, on 10/10/2007, -5/+39I think I speak for most of Digg users when I say, "who gives a *****."
Don't lose your balance when you pat yourself on the back so hard. - Alpione, on 10/10/2007, -1/+21The winners will now procede to give each other green blow jobs...
- Ouze, on 10/10/2007, -3/+22I had hoped that when they removed the top diggers link, it would stop these stupid sorts of e-peen measuring contests.
"Social News Warriors" - delusions of grandeur much? - BigManOnCampus, on 10/10/2007, -1/+20Oooh a list of the righteous...
- Calypsoaf, on 10/10/2007, -3/+22Buried Lame.
Why is Digg a popularity contest? - enforcerpsu, on 10/10/2007, -10/+26I ***** hate all this "green" ***** we spew around. Green This, Green that, carbon ***** footprint, and now green diggers.
All these trendy terms used to show your "hip" and cool and GREEN. God, stfu. - burkinaboy, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15Bwahahahaha... I'm "the youthful"! Apparently, I'm also "hip," a claim which I can tell you (and my wife will surely agree) is patently false.
- DirtySnachez, on 10/10/2007, -0/+11lol, he also organised the awards, tallied the votes, chose the prizes and hosts the blog, oh, and is editor for the write-up about the winner .
j/k - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -7/+17AKA the idiot list
- MikeonTV, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Can;t wait for the top 10 racist diggers.
- ButchersBoy, on 10/10/2007, -5/+13***** hippes.
- holygram, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7My computer does not emit danger danger gases at stuff.
- sustainablogger, on 10/10/2007, -8/+14Shucks, only an honorable mention... but it's great to see that a number of "big diggers" are digging green...
- ronaldinho, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6soon we will have a Green Emmy of sorts.....with Al Gore as the host
- civperc, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8Apparently, Digg is all some people have...
- BackOrder, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Really, it comes to a point where some of them digg for digging. It's like randomly shooting and then hoping to hit a target. MrBabyMan is a good example of someone who's stories should be flagged as spam. Does he even read what he digs? Does that guy have a day job? The hell!
Nothing personal here, pals. I believe that such diggers are destroying the very reason to have a social network. They are equivalent to sloppy corporate mass media in social network world. Do something about it. - coit, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5And, in a grand display of green-ism, no one will watch in order to save electricity, and no one will attend in order to reduce carbon emissions.
- bobcrotch, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4This proves how hollow most of this is. Not to say there aren't people who actually try to help because they care.
- coit, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3If you lived through the 70's, then you have heard it all before.....
- civperc, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3lol, talk about some digg bait... jeez
- Nick22, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Only one that really bothers me is the carbon footprint stuff. idk why it just sounds retarded
- BigManOnCampus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Difficulty: Not exhaling CO2 during the blow job....
ready..... go! - maklershed, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Where's pizzler? Every article I read is submitted by him.
Also, I'm fairly certain these people get their stories dugg not cause they're interesting articles but they have a group of friends that digg it up for them. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Digg users should stop eating Taco Bell.
- Aidenag, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Nah im just quick to the draw, and like most journalists, they give the people they wrote about in said article a heads up to its publishing.. But i am flattered you thought i could make a Hearst Owned newspaper do my bidding hehehe
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2i don't see pizzler anywhere on there. oh wait. he submits EVERYTHING.
- yoda17, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Chlorine is a green gas.
Try breathing some. - mountainsurfer, on 10/10/2007, -6/+7Although an obvious piece of Digg bait, I am happy to see that more categories are getting utilized heavily on Digg. As for the people who are angry about "green" being popular, I think they're missing the point. The reason you're hearing so much about "green this" and "green that" lately is because people are waking up and realizing were' very near, if not past, the point of no return. If caring about the environment is "trendy" then it's a good thing. The longer the trend lasts the better off we are.
Nobody is perfect. Sure people Digg green stories and use a computer. But many of them also turn out the lights when they're not in the room, don't leave water running while brushing their teeth, don't drive a big ass SUV to work every day - alone, choose to buy the biodegradable dish soap, don't dump fertilizer on their lawns... Nobody is perfect, but at least some people are trying to be a little bit more concious of their actions.
And some people like to digg stories about the environment. So what. It interests them and it interests me. As a Digger I want to see these stories show up because I like reading them. I don't want an iPhone and I don't play video games. But I want to read stories about alternative building materials, green architecture, global warming... so even though it was blatant Digg Bait, I'm happy to have read the page because now I know who's Diggs to subscribe to in order to see these stories even when the Bury Brigade gets trigger happy before they make it near the home page.
Sure I could go to Hugg.com but their site sucks compared to Digg. You think Digg has spam problems, try some of those Pligg sites. - minorthreat, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Why is green the new buzzword? how about we use Clean??
toxic waste is green - Grimdotdotdot, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2FTA: "If 2007 has been the year of web 2.0, then it has also been the year of Digg.com."
Er... 2005 was the year of web 2.0, surely? - mik3pass, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I couldn't help but notice that 8/10 people on that list were Americans...
Apparently I thought that America was solely responsible for all of the earthquakes, tornados, hurricanes, monsoons, draughts, and every other natural disaster that this planet ever went through.
Imagine that. - OutThisLife, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhLoghrZ9vE
- mozey, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1That just makes me think of green aliens playing with digg. MAN, this website is getting big!.
- brian4572, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1bravo! bravo! go green http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2b1D5w82yU
- designer, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2green (read communist)
- zex18ro, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1the earth heats up and cools down cyclically, it has been proven time and time again. mr gore is afraid to debate the REAL scientists and continually refuses to do so.
- edwartica, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Al gore is a ***** hypocrite. Real environmentalists snub him. Especially as much as he flies! He has his own jet for God's sake! He wastes more fuel than your average Hummer driver!
- DirtySnachez, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I know - you seem like you're nowhere near Republican enough to actually do what I suggested ;)
- sonofarex, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0i'd just like to let you all know that i'm going to idle my diesel truck an extra hour this week for each person on that top 10 list
its my new Maddox-inspired "sponsor a hippie" campaign - DirtySnachez, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1How did they build the wind turbines ? With Solar ?
- abajaj2280, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1if someone who didnt work for digg made this, they need to find a different hobby... fast.
- sonofarex, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0as long as it doesn't melt my ice caps, you can use it on all the jews you want
- edwartica, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Umm, and what evidence do you have of this?
- theforrester, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0A Digg for gratuitous self promotion :)
- edwartica, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Unless of course you use solar or wind power. I use wind. My power company provides us with that option.
- Abudiwa, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1jeez i can't believe this made it to any sort of main page.
you guys making up for not being popular in high school?
buried: lame. who cares? - RockTheReactors, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Man... like I don't have enough to read already... Now I gotta go check all this stuff out... Makes me feel good that "green think" is a growing blogging trend on Digg, the loss of pictures and archives on Hugg, killed the pleasure of posting there for me, since I'm a man of a picture is worth a 1000 words. We, in the eco-solution business, are overwhelmed by this constant flow of new information... so picking the right stuff, while staying true to your gut feeling about what's going to work in the real world, know what's just green washing or window dressing is important. This brave new cyberworld without editors, leaving end users having to sort wheat from chaff on their own, is both elating and constipating, rocking back and forth rather than lunging forward... the trick, is to take all this stuff, institutionalize it enough so the market, municipalities and first adopters have a shot at redesigning the planet's human life support systems in time so there's resources left over for a few more generation of civilization. All these wonderful green blogs don't seem to be reducing energy consumption any... a few gateway technologies will, like LEDs, clean fuels, soil replenishing crops, nano PV and battery chemistries... C2C protocols... it's all here... but cities need centers, so it's not just lost souls in cyberspace trying to move the green ball along... but hundreds of bodies converging, networking, meeting, loving, restoring social structure, that's how movements, real movements are born... staying locked up in your room in front of a computer screen just won't do... we need green Martha Stewarts out there creating huge spaces people can gather, share information, which is what Greendrinks does once a month, except we need them 24/7... Imagine a new Factory in New York, as if Andy Warhol had been a green... that's what the Collage Foundation wants to do... Google it... you're all good at doing that!
- edwartica, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0That would be me.
- dreserd, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Ur just green with envy because you didn't get picked.
