Tommy Lee saves the planet!
money.cnn.com — Well, not quite. But the rocker is just one of the stars of Discovery Communications' tacky-yet-shrewd Planet Green network.

- DeadSkinMask, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1"Captain Planet, he's our hero Gonna take pollution down to zero!"

- DeadSkinMask, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1"Captain Planet, he's our hero Gonna take pollution down to zero!"
- Qong, on 05/16/2008, -2/+8Nothing says green like a show hosted by Tommy Lee on a television station sponsored by Wal-Mart, Proctor & Gamble, Caterpillar and General Motors!
- corryface, on 05/16/2008, -2/+5i dont like to bad mouth a man of such great partying abilities but he's a serious trend follower, anyhting that is 'in' at the moment is for tommy lee.
- wrongonce, on 05/16/2008, -2/+10Look at me! I'm doing something popular!
- DeadSkinMask, on 05/16/2008, -2/+7Tommy Lee = Douchebag.
- TheBogie, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2I think this is the correct formula:
Douchbags > Tommy Lee
- TheBogie, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2I think this is the correct formula:
- temporaryholder, on 05/16/2008, -0/+0Yeah but can he save a pool party?
- peestandingup, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1Oooo, too soon.
- n3tfury, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1As long as he's still bashing skins, ***** it.
- cygnus2112, on 05/16/2008, -2/+1I know how we can save the planet.. tote around a filming crew, vans, cameras, tour buses, equipment, vehicles, cast, entourage .. then book some production time at the studio that uses an enormous amount of energy and resources to follow washed-up rock stars in yet another reality-like television program doing "green projects" that likely only repair less than 1/20th of the overall damage that having the show exist actually causes to the Earth.
- paranoiabacon, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2but hey it's totally moral to do that for the purpose of raising awareness... right? c'mon. awareness.
- palehorse864, on 05/16/2008, -1/+1Meh, I'd rather see "Tommy Lee Jones saves the planet!"
- diggerachi, on 05/16/2008, -0/+0I think he needs to save himself first.
- gkiltz, on 05/16/2008, -0/+0This whole thing is hogwash: It's built around the assumption that he was ever ON this planet!
- crescentfreshld, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1"The type of viewers who turn into this network will probably be a little more upscale and well educated," he says. "They'll be a little more highbrow than the average TV viewer."
Then why are they giving us shows hosted by people like Tom Green and Tommy Lee?!?! (Pssst, it's better for the environment to turn the tv OFF and do something else...) - nobodynoes, on 05/16/2008, -0/+0guy needs to get a real job. he is on a new reality show every week
- nvillalobos, on 05/16/2008, -0/+0It's like Captain Planet.. but with celebrities..
I for one want to see their super powers (whether manifested from a ring, collaboratively with friends or otherwise) as well as their fancy superhero type outfits made out of recycled materials. My money is on Ludacris! - Cornfedhusker, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1I guess they don't remember how big a failure "Tommy Lee Goes to College" was.
- atroxodisse, on 05/17/2008, -0/+1That explains that. I was at the Renaissance Faire in Irwindale last weekend and there was a camera crew from Discovery channel. Then I'm sitting under a tree and there is this big crowd of people and I see Tommy Lee run by and I'm like wtf. So I start looking around and yep, there's Ludacris, some other guy from some other rock band that I can't remember the name of and that dude from MTV with the spiky hair. Until now I was rather confused about the situation. What I'm still confused about is what the Ren Faire has to do with going green. I also think I saw Danny Devito with them...maybe it wasn't him. I don't know.
