- mailmanmania, on 04/21/2009, -0/+12Hopefully the driver doesn't get too hungry during the race.
- mohrt, on 04/21/2009, -0/+8Place in the oven at 350 degrees for 4 hours. Serve.
- MarkusX, on 04/21/2009, -0/+8I wonder what the tires are made of?
- serif69, on 04/21/2009, -0/+7"the material is taken from plant"
You mean like cotton? How advanced... - FearisFailure, on 04/21/2009, -0/+6Did anyone else see the $500 3D mouse.
- Ftown13, on 04/21/2009, -0/+5Hopefully a bunny isn't driving the car
- spritom, on 04/21/2009, -0/+5>>Imagine driving at 140 mph and directing your car with a carrot in your hand ...
Not that there's anything wrong with that... - inactive, on 04/21/2009, -0/+5The blood of Jesus, Unicorn tears and clean coal
- racekarl, on 04/21/2009, -0/+4The title seems quite a bit misleading. As I read the article it's a regular race car with some "sustainable" bits tacked on (e.g. mirrors, wing end plates, etc.) The chassis is still woven carbon fiber as best as I can tell, the tires are still rubber, and so on.
- utnow, on 04/21/2009, -1/+5I drive my car with my carrot in my hand all the time.... wait what?
- chillybeans27, on 04/21/2009, -0/+3I think I saw Bugs Bunny driving a car with a carrot steering wheel once.
- borez, on 04/21/2009, -1/+4The ability to run on waste chocolate... Plain or Milk?
- inactive, on 04/21/2009, -1/+4What a load of crap. It still uses many caustics and corrosive chemicals to build, the engines are all made of metal as well as the transmissions and differential. The electric motors all have heavy metals in them. 140MPH? Pffftt, My street car can get there. Real race cars exceed 200MPH.
NO matter what: No big oil means no racing as we know it. - Hellahulla, on 04/21/2009, -0/+2I have to bury you, it's not a formula one car.
Good point otherwise. - inactive, on 04/21/2009, -0/+2How the ***** is a car that's made of food more sustainable than a car made of steel or carbon fiber, for example? Potatoes do not just grow on trees, you know.
- GTC55, on 04/21/2009, -0/+2What you need now is the chance to cook your organic bacon on the cylinder head...
- itsabrandnewday, on 04/21/2009, -0/+2i wonder how this thing would hold up in a crash...
- stix213, on 04/21/2009, -0/+2LOL, sorry libtards but a bio-diesel race calibrated engine still will pump massive amounts pollutants into the air.
"race calibrated" means it won't have any of the fancy pollution reduction gadgets that a regular car is required to have. - aabril, on 04/21/2009, -0/+2cookies! duh
- SupaFlyTNT, on 04/21/2009, -1/+3Y? A lot of the tech you see in our cars now comes from race technology; environmental or not.
- denindallas, on 04/21/2009, -0/+2looks like the chassis that lost out to the DP01 Panoz in Champ Car
- festriaqua, on 04/21/2009, -0/+2"Imagine driving at 140 mph and directing your car with a carrot in your hand"
anyone thats been in azeroth knows you go faster with a carrot on your mount - CedEx, on 04/21/2009, -0/+2Tossed salad is what you're saying?
- jlan, on 04/21/2009, -0/+2Yeah, I thought it was the center console in a BMW
- chill613, on 04/21/2009, -0/+2I was hoping it ran on a hydrogen fuel cell :(
- raza7370, on 04/21/2009, -0/+2nice car..
- rhynost, on 04/21/2009, -0/+1LOL.
- Sejes89, on 04/21/2009, -0/+1If the car crashes and turns into a big healthy salad then that would really put Formula 1 racing and eating healthy on the map.
- tgc1, on 04/21/2009, -1/+2Vulcanized Rubber.
- akoumjian, on 04/21/2009, -1/+2How is creating all that entropy, both in its creation and its running even remotely environmentally friendly? Just because you're using vegetables doesn't mean that driving this thing a hundred times around a race track at ridiculous speeds -isn't- a waste of potentially usable energy.
- howdareyou, on 04/21/2009, -3/+4I'm all for the green movement and think it's ridiculous to drive a gas guzzling SUV around the city, but can we please leave racing cars out of the environmental movement?
- u8myfoood, on 04/21/2009, -0/+1Neither... White chocolate... that stuff should not be called chocolate. DARK CHOCOLATE FTW!
- aabril, on 04/22/2009, -0/+1that's funny because they are all imaginary
- buzbe, on 04/21/2009, -0/+0thats what she said
- Axemusica, on 04/21/2009, -0/+0i believe they already did this using Movie Theater pop corn.
- DamnedSaint, on 04/21/2009, -0/+0Yeah, he used it to get away from Elmer Fudd. :|
- jasonboyee, on 04/21/2009, -3/+3I’ve seen “Green Clothing” on television where the material is taken from plant, but a race car made of vegetable is a whole other level. When it crashed, you’ll have french fries. LOL.
- Speedy7, on 04/21/2009, -1/+1Plain chocolate is waste anyway...
- Axemusica, on 04/21/2009, -0/+0Like if you went to Olive garden to eat. When they ask you if you want cheese on your salad, grabbing the bowl and throwing it at the wall as hard as you can. I think it would be kind of like that.
- compguy101101, on 04/21/2009, -3/+3That's just stupid. I mean props for using carrots and potato chips to build a car but, hrmm, how about something a little more practical instead of a formula one racer. Maybe next they'll tackle the space shuttle foam problem by using grass clippings and used bubble gum?
- MarkusX, on 04/21/2009, -1/+1I thought more like liquorice.
- skinturtle, on 04/21/2009, -2/+1I'd rather have "her" hold my carrot while i'm drivin'
- crescentfreshld, on 04/21/2009, -3/+2How 'bout we just leave race cars out of the world altogether? ;)
- Axemusica, on 04/21/2009, -3/+2instead of having to disconnect the steering wheel when you need to get out, do you have to eat it?
On a serious note, no one in there right mind is going to race (a formula at that) a car made of vegetables! I know I wouldn't, I wouldn't even sit in it. - terencec, on 04/21/2009, -3/+2I wouln't feel so safe having know that my car going at 140mph is made of plants.
