- inactive, on 06/03/2008, -6/+408I am a marine biologist. Those were not sea creatures. It was just a ***** of garbage.
- solarweasel, on 06/03/2008, -5/+286Last time I was at the beach I swam with a school of condom-fish.
- adamlaz2, on 06/03/2008, -4/+213Does that "Battery" look like a Keystone Light can to anyone else??
- pe5t1lence, on 06/03/2008, -3/+151This is why I don't use condoms!
- CrackyJSquirrel, on 06/03/2008, -5/+143You know for a discarded "sanitary pad" it looks quite clean..
- inactive, on 06/03/2008, -3/+129Interestingly enough, most of these items are recyclable.
- bossm4n, on 06/03/2008, -2/+116How is it that those white plastic grocery bags last 30-60 years in the ocean when I can't even make it from my car to the house without them disintegrating.
- Mard, on 06/03/2008, -0/+72Your comment should be republished in Nature.
- aenima987, on 06/03/2008, -5/+76Headcrabs are way worse.
- inactive, on 06/03/2008, -4/+62I sea what you did there. ;)
- Dylson, on 06/03/2008, -6/+59I can't stand jellyfish.
- Psalm, on 06/03/2008, -1/+50I'm sure the Sanitary Pad is the only one that actually smells like a fish though.
- RobotKeaton, on 06/03/2008, -2/+45What do they expect? We need to avenge Steve Irwin somehow.

- bsdrocker, on 06/03/2008, -0/+36Let me guess - your name is also Art Vandeley
- Narcism, on 06/03/2008, -2/+33Yeah, and those condoms, once untied, are still usable.
- Hefelumpman, on 06/03/2008, -9/+37It's disgusting how much of our refuse ends up in the ocean, and how long it takes to decompose/disintegrate.
- GorfTron, on 06/03/2008, -2/+25Have I been drinking batteries???
- ryanarchy, on 06/03/2008, -0/+20Aluminum cans have a plastic lining on the inside that prevents sodas and other caustic materials from eating through them.
- inactive, on 06/03/2008, -1/+21I didn't get to see any condom fish last time I was at the beach. They weren't allowed out because the sanitary pad fish was in town :(
- llnylov, on 06/03/2008, -4/+23And the most dangerous species is: Man!

- lolwutpear, on 06/03/2008, -1/+19It's a battery for college students.
- inactive, on 06/03/2008, -0/+17Sounds kinky
- CrazedLeper, on 06/03/2008, -6/+23I knew before I clicked that it would be us.
- reflex768, on 06/03/2008, -0/+16Is it a dupe? Damn. I even manually searched for it.
- AnarkeIncarnate, on 06/03/2008, -4/+19Virginity paid off for you, eh?
- drastik21, on 06/03/2008, -6/+20Keystone light that's 10X worse than a battery, I feel sorry for the fish.
- MacEnvy, on 06/03/2008, -2/+15Ever seen the urinal in a seedy bar?
- D0m0kun, on 06/03/2008, -0/+13Is it really all that hard to believe that with all the trash we produce that a percentage of it ends up in the oceans? It's really not complicated. And it's not a conspiracy.
- ahawks, on 06/03/2008, -2/+15If you think the only 2 options are "produce millions of tons of disposable ***** and throw it in the ocean" and human extinction, perhaps you SHOULD join their movement.
- liquidpele, on 06/03/2008, -1/+14And some of it is overly dramatic. Aluminum cans? Cigarette buds? Those are elements you find all around the world, and the descriptions of why there were bad were far fetched. A piece of drift wood could do the same damage as a some of the problems cited. The plastics I admit are a problem though, as they tend to float and are more easily ingested by marine life.
- ventralnet, on 06/03/2008, -1/+13does anyone actually tie their condoms into little knots like you are supposed to?
- jarjarwang, on 06/03/2008, -0/+12Why does the soda can last 500 years, but other aluminum items only 10?
- StacyWebb, on 06/03/2008, -5/+16What no mention of "Fat Hairy Guy in Thong"?
- MarkDenali, on 06/03/2008, -11/+22Beautifully designed and powerful.
- DalamarArgent, on 06/03/2008, -1/+12BAD IMAGE
- photokeith, on 06/03/2008, -0/+10Jellyfish can't stand.
- CrazedLeper, on 06/03/2008, -0/+10Have the third one removed. It's actually an egg laid there by a rare species of spider called the "nut dweller".
- DoTheFandango, on 06/03/2008, -1/+11I can guarantee that the item pictured is a Keystone Light can. How do I know? I go to college.
- Shawn4168, on 06/03/2008, -0/+9The More You Know...
- Soval, on 06/03/2008, -0/+9And everybody gets to suck on you.
- ep53, on 06/03/2008, -0/+9I wanna be a condom, and spend 15 mins inside a vagina then the other 30 years floating in the sea, with other seamen.
- emeraldclaw4, on 06/03/2008, -1/+9I live near the beach and haven't been there in over 5 years because i hate jellyfish so much.. I got stung on my nipples once, I wasn't particularly thrilled by it.
- mlbwebdesign, on 06/03/2008, -1/+9Finally, something we don't have to worry about becoming extinct.
- buxmeister, on 06/03/2008, -0/+8I didn't see any golf balls on the poster
- flashingcurser, on 06/03/2008, -1/+9Ultraviolet light and oxygen break down the bags. 10 feet below the surface there would be considerably less of both, though I doubt that that would translate into decades.
