Apparently the maker of this list has never driven through Calgary. - e1evene1even, on 06/26/2009, -0/+1The only reason Calgary can be considered 'clean', is because everything gets thrown out. The lack of proper recycling is outrageous. Most people's idea of recycling there is putting your bottles in the alley for the homeless (who are everywhere pushing around shopping carts, trying to scrape a life together, due to the high cost of living and lack of assistance).
Its just not practical to recycle for many, unless you have a car (like everything else in that city). After moving to Calgary from a small town in Ontario which not only has weekly blue and grey box recycling pickup but also compost pickup I was shocked at how backwards it was.
Oh, and if you do have a car better hope it doesn't snow because the city doesn't plow any sideroads (at all). Their idea of 'Public Works' is waiting for a Chinook!
Hey, but at least taxes are low... - e1evene1even, on 06/26/2009, -0/+1In my opinion (having lived in TO, Calgary, Vancouver etc), Vancouver is by far the best city in Canada, but has some dirty areas (downtown east side for example).
Come the Olympics it will probably be the cleanest though. - ethanator1088, on 06/26/2009, -0/+1Was that guy in the pic going to eat all of those floating fish?
- vigilante1, on 06/25/2009, -0/+1Imagine breathing in that thick Linfen air.
- Zippo, on 06/25/2009, -0/+1Most of Japan is pretty damn clean. For such a densely-populated industrial nation, the air is clean and the streets are immaculate.

haha nah "I'm kiddin' keep it grubby mah Eastern borthas - inactive, on 06/25/2009, -0/+0Chernobyl the city that glows at night (from the radioactivity) was number 8. Holy cow, how bad are can the other ones be?
I also thought Trinidad California was supposed to have the cleanest air in America.
The only other suggestion would be that the list goes from 10 to 1, instead of getting done with the number 1 spot first.
