- TanaHamiter, on 06/29/2008, -0/+0I agree, we need to inform ourselves and look at the long run, My Native Amerian Friends have as saying: when making decisons look 'Unto the 7th Generation". In other words is what we are about to do good for the future generation or just a selfish fix for us right now. This happens on all levels. Where they bring in a certain animal that is not native to an area to help with overpopulation of some other animal and then find that there is no preditor for what was brough it. Also in bringing in plants that solve a problem, example: gopher perge (which is great to plant around your garden or yard and NO selfrespecting gopher or mole will come near it, hate the roots), but it spreads like wild fire. So, from an ecological point not a good plan. We created nucular energy with NO plan to get rid of the left over toxins (still have NO plan) and now we see toxins being driven along our interstates, through our cities, LIKE SEATTLE, and if we had used the concept of our Native friends, 'unto the 7th generation' we would have waited until we had solved that problem, Again GREED in America, we want it all dispite how it effects those here and arround the world. Good aritice, Keep them comming!
