    Also there are dozens of kinds of cancer and it's very unlikely there will be one cure for them all.

    But that's ok, you'll all skip over my comment and dismiss it with shallow socially stigmatic thinking while you're loved ones die from a preventable and curable cancer. :(

    Also, @benkraj that's mostly true but the rather large amount of cancer today can be cured by compounds like those in Cannabis and the infamous Laetrile.

I think a lot of graduates looking for work realize that this isn't like the golden age of R&D where every company had half its resources funneled into R&D just for the sake of R&D... And to make sure they have work, they have to put out something. Thus why every 2 days there's another "study" that shows a "link"... whether it be correlation/causation BS, or yet another cancer cure.
