- davidg11, on 05/08/2008, -3/+88I think she mentioned something about peak oil...don't quote me though....I was a bit distracted while she was talking...
- mediaphile, on 05/08/2008, -1/+5What's this "peak oil" you speak of?
- Dokument, on 05/08/2008, -1/+4At first i thought she said Pink oil
- yojiffyskippy, on 05/08/2008, -1/+2I think the term is "Pink Oil" and it's some kind of euphemism.
- Terr01, on 05/08/2008, -2/+7She wants you to put some oil on her... uh... peaks.
- MisterFreeze, on 05/08/2008, -0/+4Sex sells, but who's buying?
- thcobbs, on 05/08/2008, -1/+5I'll buy the right side.... you can have the rest.
- Modestexcuse, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2I'll take two please.
- rootryan, on 05/08/2008, -0/+6she was talking?
- yingjai, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1i just muted the video since i was listening to music.
- AZSanMan, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1I wish I could just get the one on the left to shut up.
- AtomicTheory, on 05/08/2008, -9/+4That girl needs to eat something. I think it is sexy when a girl's thighs don't even come close to touching each other up at her teehiney. It's like, it should be shaped like Λ up in there, but instead, it's like Π .
... and the earth thing was sad too.- midejitsu, on 05/08/2008, -0/+5You’re wrong. Kudos for finding a use for capital lamda and capital pi, but you’re wrong. Really, really wrong.
- 1randomguyO8, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1People have different taste. I have come to realise that alot of men actually like fat ass bitches.
- midejitsu, on 05/08/2008, -0/+5You’re wrong. Kudos for finding a use for capital lamda and capital pi, but you’re wrong. Really, really wrong.
- ishwarchand, on 05/08/2008, -3/+1She is wrong but I dont feel like explaining why cos no one really wants to know why. Just wanna say that we were supposed to peak in 1970s and then again in 2005-10, but newer technologies keep changing this.
- buckrogers1965, on 05/08/2008, -0/+5"We" did peak in 1972, if by "We" you mean the United States.
- heymike, on 05/09/2008, -0/+4I would like to know why. (not calling you out here, I am just not too familiar on the topic.) I was just looking at this to see the T&A and thought she should have oiled herself up.
Anyway, I have no idea about the global numbers as far as accuracy and such, however if it takes millions of years to form oil yet we extract and burn it within months, sooner or later we will run dry. Is my logic way off?
Also, if an individual field can peak then run *dry*, can't that be extrapolated out to a collective of all fields? Oil sands and shale included?
Anyone know the name of that theory where oil regenerates? Starts with an A I think. I have forgotten but would not mind a reference on it. Thanks.
- MH94, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1The dancing is louder than the talking in my head :D
- jnichols, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1What was that about? All I saw was her. They got me to click on the video and watch it but retention = 0
- mediaphile, on 05/08/2008, -1/+5What's this "peak oil" you speak of?
- lucidguru, on 05/08/2008, -16/+126I'm so glad I have a mute button on my computer.
- Dibou, on 05/08/2008, -2/+22I guess you missed her thanks for not turning down the volume.
- ViperX116, on 05/08/2008, -1/+1I wouldn't know because I turned down the volume.
- jonmlm, on 05/08/2008, -0/+11crazy. a mute button? i guess the future has arrived
- Jonjonr6, on 05/08/2008, -1/+9Last year, I built a friend a computer, and put an internal speaker on a seperate sound card in it.
He had his own 5 speaker system with seperate volume control.
Yesterday he looked inside the computer for the first time to install a firewire card and found out why he still could hear the moans when he watched online porn. - 1randomguyO8, on 05/09/2008, -1/+1My computer lacks any mute or volume control devices/features. I think I need to upgrade to the super computer he has.
- Jonjonr6, on 05/08/2008, -1/+9Last year, I built a friend a computer, and put an internal speaker on a seperate sound card in it.
- BoneStamp, on 05/08/2008, -1/+1You don't need mute when you keep seeking ahead a few seconds to see if she takes anything off... which she does for those who only watched a few seconds.
- Matt174e, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1"YouTube" should have gave you a clue.
- cyrax04, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Concur.
I love mute almost as much as I love that very informative video.
- Dibou, on 05/08/2008, -2/+22I guess you missed her thanks for not turning down the volume.
- davidg11, on 05/08/2008, -15/+86But seriously, and I'm a lover of alternative energy technology, Peak oil is NOT worse than genocide. It's statements like that which make people roll their eyes and watch the stripper vs. the rest of the statement.
- imitokay, on 05/08/2008, -2/+6I think it was said more for effect than to be taken literally...
If anything ... knowing the american public, you have to use dramatic over the top statements to get there attention anyways.
...actually, most likely no one heard that line in the first place, and watched her from the beginning - Chandon, on 05/08/2008, -3/+9You are trying to make a moral judgment, and that's not an effective way to prioritize world problems. Let me put it this way: Peak is likely to be the cause of more worldwide problems in the 21st century than genocide will.
Now, that doesn't mean that peak oil is the end of the world or that genocide isn't a problem - just that one is a drastically larger scale issue than the other is. - diggerphelps, on 05/08/2008, -1/+14She said it was BIGGER, not worse.
Kind of like how auto accidents or cancer kill more people than 9/11.
They are not 'worse', just affect more people. - aMammoth, on 05/08/2008, -4/+9Peak oil will happen gradually enough that we can transition fairly seamlessly.
- imitokay, on 05/08/2008, -0/+4at least, thats what we hope will happen
from the looks of it though, the US government is doing very little to help us mobilize- Ebulating, on 05/08/2008, -0/+4Actually, they are harming the effort with ***** like the corn-ethanol subsidies. A really competent government would be furiously studying advanced-nuclear reactors and high-efficiency solar. And we really need to start insulating housed decently. r-13 is just pathetic. r-50 should be the standard.
- 1randomguyO8, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2GEORGE BUSH INCREASED BIOFUELS. We are all saved.
/s- imitokay, on 05/11/2008, -0/+1oh god, i knew you anti bush fanboys would get in here soon enough, can't you realize that we have a WHOLE government, not a single dictator... I know you hate the guy, but open your eyes
- domokunt, on 05/08/2008, -2/+4SHHH! your ruining the scare story!
- kevincannon, on 05/08/2008, -1/+3I haven't seen any evidence of that except from right-wing economists who want to push a particular agenda. It's likely that will happen, but only if we intervene for it to.
- imitokay, on 05/08/2008, -0/+4at least, thats what we hope will happen
- ahawks, on 05/08/2008, -1/+7On the premise that everything else she said was true, then peak oil IS more serious and worse than genocide.
"4 billion people will not survive"
Name the last genocide that killed 4 billion people.- Herostratos, on 05/08/2008, -0/+3Yeah, but what idiot believes everything he hears?
- Silentnite85, on 05/08/2008, -0/+4But it's on youtube. They wouldn't let you put it on youtube if it weren't true right?
- Herostratos, on 05/08/2008, -0/+3Yeah, but what idiot believes everything he hears?
- SpikeTheSenses, on 05/08/2008, -3/+4she also said that many think we peaked at 2005, which isn't true as we're finding more and more oil everyday.
not to say that we don't need to get off of fossil fuels, because that ***** sucks, but know your facts before you go public..- buckrogers1965, on 05/08/2008, -1/+3More than what?
Did we find a Saudi oil field any time in recent history? An Iraq oil field? A Venezuelan oil field? A new North slope? No. Because we have already found all the easily finable big fields. They were easy to find. Now we are scrambling to drill more into every nook and cranny to find less and less.
Peak oil is not running out of oil. We will have oil for hundreds of more years. What peak oil means is that we have found all the easily findable oil, now we have to start investing in new expensive technologies to start striping oil from tar sands, with huge ecological, health, social and economic costs associated with that.
Combined with rising demand from China, India, Africa, and Central and South Americas and you have the recipe for $500 a barrel oil.
Or entirely globally change our methods of manufacturing, transportation, and food production. That sounds easy.
Maybe we could maybe say research and start ramping up some production capabilities for alternatives... you know... _now_... before the large brown lumps hit the air circulation devices. - DigitalGalt, on 05/08/2008, -0/+2I would suggest you know your facts. We did peak in 2005. We finally broke back above it in late 2007, but only by a few thousand barrels.
Its about production, not reserves. Finding more oil doesn't really matter because we are using reserves every day. We have to find more every year than we use every year. Get it? Yeah, they found a potential big oil field off the coast of Brazil, but look up project expectations. It won't come online for 5 years, it will slowly grow production, and it won't have anywhere near the production capacity of previous large fields ever.
Same thing happened in the former Soviet Republics. Its not about conspiracy. Its not about people not understanding. Its not about, well oil just needs to get more expensive. At some point, the FLOW RATE can't keep up.
Peak oil is about two things: the short run impact of a global oil crunch - before capital investment can fix the shortage, and a permanent demand/supply imbalance that is just too expensive to fix. The short run impact is the problem. If Saudi Arabia declared they were past peak tomorrow and oil futures went to 3 or 4 hundred dollars a barrel, global economic systems would collapse - from an economic shortage. - galapagos, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1peak doesn't mean we won't find any more oil. It means our production will never increase past the point we're at now
- buckrogers1965, on 05/08/2008, -1/+3More than what?
- Stormwern, on 05/08/2008, -1/+5Peak oil is a concept blown beyond all reason because it's a very convenient way for the oil companies to blame the rising prices on the consumers. Neither fuel efficient cars or electric cars are future technology, they exist and if people invest in them, and stop buying stupid crap like bottled water, the demand for oil will drop and gas prices will freefall.
- ewokskick, on 05/08/2008, -1/+2tell that to the people in Democratic Republic of the Congo, Sudan and... oh wait...
- imitokay, on 05/08/2008, -2/+6I think it was said more for effect than to be taken literally...

- starbuxadct, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1This is a good documentary that talks about peak oil, and various other oil related issues. It's pretty eye opening.
The End of Suburbia
http://www.endofsuburbia.com/- starbuxadct, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1It is also interesting, because it was made in '04, and a lot of the predictions they made, have already come true, or are now coming to light.
- 1randomguyO8, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1A Crude Awakening is pretty good aswell. You can find it on google video but I recommened the torrent.
- casenumber17421, on 05/08/2008, -4/+75I peaked, that's for sure.

- TheG2, on 05/08/2008, -1/+10Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
- MrCrumbles, on 05/08/2008, -0/+2I think sharing is overrated too. And helping others. And what's all this crap I've been hearing about tolerance?
- wfbnadador, on 05/08/2008, -3/+8did she dub over herself saying "Four ounce bottle of water"? 3:09... why?
- erichw1504, on 05/08/2008, -1/+7you were listening?
- Enjia, on 05/08/2008, -4/+2she said 8 you douche
- nhprm, on 05/08/2008, -1/+5she dubed "Eight" over what her lips were saying ("four"), douche.
- Kajarago, on 05/08/2008, -0/+3If you actually listened, "you douche," you would have noticed that she mouthed "four" but she dubbed over it with an "eight." I see what you're saying wfbnadador.
In my opinion, it's because no one buys 4-ounce bottles of water (not that I've seen any anywhere anyway). - veloscaper, on 05/08/2008, -0/+3I missed the part about bottled water completely.
- over900000, on 05/08/2008, -1/+1Same here. I missed the part about the bottled water.

and trade cash in for precious metals
and get some solar panels... :p - Huangism, on 05/08/2008, -0/+2does she (right side) come with oil?
- NCSUspoon, on 05/08/2008, -1/+5The globe isn't going to collapse because of oil. Don't exaggerate. Oil is a problem but that doesn't mean lead an Amish lifestyle. I don't see you doing it Rizmaster.
- 1randomguyO8, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2That's what Im thinking but ultra expensive could be a real pain in the ass.
- laserdog, on 05/08/2008, -1/+1Or... invest all your money in oil futures, and live like a king?
Locate your mouth, insert your money. - merper, on 05/08/2008, -0/+2Uh, there's countries outside the US which have a stable oil supply or reduced oil dependence. Might want to try there first. Easier to post on Digg from say Europe than a bunker in the Great plains.
- Herostratos, on 05/08/2008, -2/+4Aah, a doomsday prophet. How does it feel like, belonging to a group which has been wrong every single time?
- 1randomguyO8, on 05/09/2008, -1/+2OIl is near $125/barell, grain prices have doubled, invasion of Iraq was about oil, how do you explain that? Speculators, right?
- NCSUspoon, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Really? Iraq was about oil? Have you seen any oil come out of Iraq? That is no more than a theory. Iraq was about stupid people, nothing more.
- imitokay, on 05/08/2008, -1/+4and stock up on beans and rice

- Lephtovermeet, on 05/08/2008, -8/+2Hold on a minute, someone on the internet is wrong.
She/the writer doesn't understand what peak oil is. - diggerpleez, on 05/08/2008, -3/+4Way better with mute and pushed half way off my screen
- EIderofzion, on 05/08/2008, -1/+7I'm embarrased to say it but the first and only place I found documentation on Peak Oil was a link leading to a BNP website back in 2006. But no one else was even discussing it, there was a few lines on wiki and that's all. =(
- Gazoo2001, on 05/08/2008, -0/+2? I was reading The Oil Drum and Energybulletin.net back in 2006. They've got all sorts of info on peak oil.
- 1randomguyO8, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2A major Australian Government TV station broadcast a documentary nationwide not too long ago. Plus you there are atleast four documentaries about peak oil.
- smeeee, on 05/09/2008, -0/+0Written in 1998. Good intro to the topic. Lots of charts.

- KlogereEndGrim, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1And thus the tale of Raptor Jesus!
- midejitsu, on 05/08/2008, -1/+23I sat through the whole video with my sound turned on. Am I some kind of superman? Maybe. Do I deserves some kind of medal? Most definitely. All I know is that she’s really pretty and that oil derivates of various kinds were involved in the production of all her clothing. So, if I had to start somewhere, I would start there.
- davidg11, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1I agree. Save oil. Less clothing.
- Jambi, on 05/08/2008, -2/+11It's okay, I've heard that the Atlantis expedition has found a cache of zero-point modules that should be able to supply our power needs indefinitely! Back in the mid 90s, I told everyone that the Stargate program would pay off. They laughed at me. Well who's laughing now?!!
- ncraig, on 05/08/2008, -3/+2I didn't realize the sound was off until probably.. the end.
- TacMedic, on 05/08/2008, -5/+4I don't get was there there a message in this video...all I saw was one kinda hot girl standing next to a hot girl
- antvolt, on 05/08/2008, -4/+48Am I the only one that thought the left side was hotter?
- acroyear2, on 05/08/2008, -0/+19She's all around hot.
- mendez8, on 05/08/2008, -5/+4yes
- Modestexcuse, on 05/08/2008, -3/+27Nope! The girl on the right was trashy, the girl speaking, of whom I listened, was very attractive.
- Flamancot, on 05/08/2008, -3/+22Wasn't it the same bitch in both frames?
- charlie55, on 05/08/2008, -1/+15yeah, pretty sure that was the same ball-draining hooker in both frames.
- Modestexcuse, on 05/08/2008, -0/+4I didn't think so, but I stand corrected :)
Evidently I am more attracted to the plainness of the girl on the left. - 1randomguyO8, on 05/09/2008, -1/+1ZING
- Flamancot, on 05/08/2008, -3/+22Wasn't it the same bitch in both frames?
- veloscaper, on 05/08/2008, -1/+46I liked the girl on the left knowing she can become the girl on the right.
- tboutcher, on 05/08/2008, -4/+38Brains and beauty. wow
- erichw1504, on 05/08/2008, -0/+9it exists?
- JointVenture, on 05/08/2008, -0/+13What makes you think she is smart? I give you that we do know she can read, but thats about it.
- Verz, on 05/08/2008, -0/+6What brains? Any chick can talk ***** and make it sound smart when you're distracted by boobs.
- Abram730, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Wow both brains working at the same time. It's like driving while getting head. Try that in rush hour traffic without getting in an accident.
- BadseedJR, on 05/08/2008, -2/+1Oil?
- cheeseysynapse, on 05/08/2008, -9/+20That bitch just wanted a reason to show her ***** to everybody without feeling like a slut..............$10 says she swallows if you compost.
- MiDri, on 05/08/2008, -1/+2hawt?
- KlogereEndGrim, on 05/08/2008, -0/+3I'd compost!
- veloscaper, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1What do I get if I compost and grow my own lettuce? Will she marry me?
- cowsgonemadd3, on 05/08/2008, -11/+5The girl talking you could tell she was not smart. More of that peak oil stuff thats been proven to be fake. One day we WILL run out but its been said at current consumption it would be like hundreds of years....
- jonmlm, on 05/08/2008, -0/+5like totally
- rugabug, on 05/08/2008, -0/+5You are forgeting the growing markets of China and India. In reality by 2050 we don't a) have solar cells be mass produced for $0.05 per watt or b) we finally get fusion working then oil will be very rare and expensive.
- fatdog789, on 05/08/2008, -1/+3All accurate, non-industry studies showed that we'll run out of oil by 2050...and that was before the Chinese and Indian automobile booms.
- captZEEbo, on 05/08/2008, -0/+2source?
- pogfreak, on 05/08/2008, -3/+38* In 1855, people could only access whatever oil happened to seep to the surface, and an advertisement for Kier's Rock Oil stated, "Hurry, before this wonderful product is depleted from Nature’s laboratory."
* In 1874, the state geologist of Pennsylvania, the United States' leading oil-producing state, said that all the oil would be gone by 1878.
* In 1920, the U.S. Geological Survey stated that the world only had 60 billion barrels (9,500,000,000 m³) of oil left.
* In 1950, geologists estimated that the world had 600 billion barrels (95,000,000,000 m³) of oil.
* Since the 1960s, major oil surveys have shown P95 EUR of close to 2,000 billion barrels (320,000,000,000 m³) (see below).
* In 1970, scientists estimated that the world had 1,500 billion barrels (240,000,000,000 m³) of oil.
* In 1994, the U.S. Geological Survey estimated that the world had 2,400 billion barrels (380,000,000,000 m³) of oil.
* In 2000, the U.S. Geological Survey estimated that the world had 3,000 billion barrels (480,000,000,000 m³) of oil (P95 EUR of 2,300 billion barrels (370,000,000,000 m³)—see below).
(Nuclear is the answer btw)- Modestexcuse, on 05/08/2008, -1/+3Great statistics! Fission it is. Have you read about that HUGE plant in California they are building? Amazing stuff.
- Rivetgeek, on 05/08/2008, -14/+3You plan on running your lawn mower with nuclear energy huh genius?
- Modestexcuse, on 05/08/2008, -0/+18No wise ass. Nuclear fission will create energy. Which in turn will be harnessed, and saved. Electric vehicles, and lawn mowers will dominate. Haven't you seen the electric mowers all over? Electric cars are already becoming reality. Evidently, you're the genius.
- domokunt, on 05/08/2008, -1/+5Mwahahahahah!
- mCanada, on 05/08/2008, -0/+7YOUR RIGHT! WE WOULD HAVE TO INVENT ELEKTRIC LAWN MOARS. WERE FUCZORED!!!
- EIderofzion, on 05/08/2008, -1/+7I agree but it will take some famine, deaths and poverty for the so called "environmentalists" to actually look at the numbers, and millions of tonnes of carbon that nuclear power does not send in the air.
- Modestexcuse, on 05/08/2008, -0/+5It just seems there are too many people opposed to Nuclear. It's a scary word, for obvious reasons. Today's Nuclear Industry is growing, and there is a ton of research in the field.
Unfortunately, the ones who are so scared of Nuclear power, are the most uneducated. (IMHO)

- uptwolait, on 05/08/2008, -1/+5Fire up the dilithium crystals...I don't think the oil is gonna hold out much longer, Captain.
- dsmx, on 05/08/2008, -0/+4I can ne do it captain
I don't have the power.
- dsmx, on 05/08/2008, -0/+4I can ne do it captain
- merper, on 05/08/2008, -0/+3Not about no oil. It's about no more cheap oil, and also reduce supply, because a lot of those new fields don't just gush out of the ground. You need complex tools (see Tar sands) and even with those, you'll max out production.
- jedimasta, on 05/08/2008, -7/+3Damnit, I wanted an oily dancer!!!
MMmm.....shiny skin, gyrating while baby oil is slowing dripping down her sleek body.

I'll be right back. - omegaredIX, on 05/08/2008, -1/+5It takes 10 calories of hydrocarbon energy to create 1 calorie of food. As oil becomes more and more expensive the one question I have on my mind is, how is the world going to eat?
- Rizmaster, on 05/08/2008, -0/+4Not meat, that's for damned sure. That requires far and away more energy to produce.
- Flamancot, on 05/08/2008, -0/+2Cheez-Its?
- Rizmaster, on 05/08/2008, -0/+2Dairy requires a lot of energy too.
We'd pretty much all HAVE to be vegans to survive. And even then only the rich would be able to make it. Without factory farming there simply isn't a way to feed more than 4 billion people. And that's assuming we don't waste anything growing animals for food.
- Rizmaster, on 05/08/2008, -0/+2Dairy requires a lot of energy too.
- mlavergn, on 05/08/2008, -0/+1Easy: Nuclear + Hydro + Solar + Wind + Geothermal + Tidal + Coal (ugly but not oil) Power Plants > Hydrogen > Fuel Cell > Tractor > Harvester > Truck == Food
- dsmx, on 05/08/2008, -1/+2As oil gets more expensive it will stop being used as fuel, simple.
- Herostratos, on 05/08/2008, -0/+3Utilize other kinds of energy sources.
- Abram730, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Drop this cartesian farming system.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQPN1O03z8I - 1randomguyO8, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Some will eat albeit very expensively and alot simple wont (mainly the poorer people of the world). You can kind of see that happening now with the rapid rise of the price of grain in rescent months.
- acroyear2, on 05/08/2008, -1/+26I want peak oil now. I think that's what I learned.
- hfx392, on 05/08/2008, -3/+1So... she makes a video to explain the unavoidable 'peak oil' crisis... and just tells us that we're basically *****.... like we didn't already know.
Good thing she explains how to help the problem.
THANKS LADY.
YOU SUCK AT DANCING. - londubh, on 05/08/2008, -1/+12To use an oil metaphor: I'd tap it.
