- Taquoshi, on 05/09/2008, -7/+25I've said this before on other threads....when the education becomes political, it is indoctrination.
I find it interesting that these "students" are so confident that they immediate judge ADULTS THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW with the attitudes and the manners that they have.
"it is selfish that you would take money over yours and your peers lives..."
"And we know all the facts," said one.... Really???? And just remind me, exactly how old are you?
""I think your (sic) fools for denying G.W...." [Global Warming, not George W....] Personally, I think this student needs to pay a bit more attention in English class.
Sadly, these are the students that will be eventually entering the work force and they will be in for a real shock when they do.- ROaks, on 05/09/2008, -7/+12Taquoshi, I agree with everything you said except, "Sadly, these are the students that will be eventually entering the work force and they will be in for a shock when they do". By the time these kids enter the work force there will be a slot for them to fill and fill it they will. Remember we have school to work programs now. It will not matter what the individual will want to do for his or her life's work, the government is going to match you to the job They want you to do. Global Warming propaganda is just one of the tools being used in our government indoctrination centers to channel our future generation where they want them. Individualism is just about dead.
- Taquoshi, on 05/09/2008, -6/+6I can't argue with your points, but just imagine for a moment what is going to happen when Boss A tells Worker B to do something, like...oh, take out the garbage, or maybe clean up the line area at a fast food place. Or, being told to plug in the studio lights on a set for a TV show and complaining that it's not covered by the union contract or, even changing the oil on a car??? I won't even go into the sanitation and public works departments, but it could bring a smile to your face, like it did to mine....
- Nannybell, on 05/09/2008, -9/+4If we work hard and don't tire, we can change all this. We need to get the facts out there. The Left is clearly in the business of half-baked propaganda with no regard for truth. We have to get the truth out there. The MSM does not help with that, so we have to work around them.
- alkajazz, on 05/09/2008, -2/+9Please give me some facts. Give me your side of the story.
- Nannybell, on 05/09/2008, -7/+2Read up on it yourself instead of just listening to one side. There is plenty of information out there on the other side of this debate. And besides, it would just detract from your time that you would rather spend harassing certain vulnerable persons on Digg, wouldn't it?
- alkajazz, on 05/09/2008, -2/+8"And besides, it would just detract from your time that you would rather spend harassing certain vulnerable persons on Digg, wouldn't it?" I've never come to any conclusion without hearing both sides first. I'm curious to see what these facts are. I've dutifully read all your comments. I've never once thought reading your view points and ideas were a waste of my time. If anything at the most I want to get a better understanding of your side of the issue. Likewise by expressing my views and thoughts I give you insight on my side of the issue. Though most of the time I feel like Christians just want to demonize Evolutionists, Atheists, Homosexuals, Liberals, Environmentalists. I also like how you accuse me of harassment when on numerous occasions said person has told me I was going to burn in hell for my beliefs, or that I'm a fool for not believing. So either you condemn both of us for our actions or you just sit in the corner and not say anything.
- eir574, on 05/09/2008, -1/+9@Nannybell,
How is alkajazz supposed to know how you've come to your conclusion that the "left is clearly in the business of half-baked propaganda with no regard for truth?" If, as you say, the mainstream media doesn't help with that, then shouldn't you at least point him to something you consider to be a reliable source? - Nannybell, on 05/09/2008, -4/+1A, but when he says that, he means it truly from his heart, not in anger (I don't think.. could be wrong of course) but because he cares about your soul. That should be interpreted as a good thing, even if you believe it is off base and that you don't even have a soul. If someone tried to convert me because he didn't want me to perish forever, I would consider that a sign of a caring heart, even if I thought the belief itself was nonsense. When Westboro Baptist says you are going to hell, I don't know whether or not they care about you or might actually be happy about it. But that is simply not true of the average Christian. Every truly born-again person cares where you spend eternity and thus warns you, just as you yourself would warn someone who was about to drive over a cliff. So please try to keep that in mind when you read comments from Christians.
I am about to go out for the evening and will not be able to get back to this until in the morning. At which time in order to answer you adequately I will have to do some research. In the meantime, will just say I have heard and read that a number of reputable scientists around the world have come forward and said that this global warming hysteria is just bunk, scientifically speaking. That's what I object to, all the hysteria surrounding it rather than cool heads discussing it rationally, and in an atmosphere where the opposing point of view isn't automatically taboo and politically incorrect. Didn't we come to this *conclusion* rather quickly? - Nannybell, on 05/11/2008, -0/+2A, I haven't been in the mood for and haven't had time for extensive research the last couple of days. Sorry. I will try to find that information for you eventually, or you can take my word for it that there are scientists in the opposing camp who have come out publicly and said that all this global warming hysteria is crazy and unwarranted and not based in fact (i.e., not based in fact that it is entirely manmade). So, who are we to believe?
- ROaks, on 05/09/2008, -8/+3Nannybell, this is a 19 year old know it all. Don't waste your time. I just got through reading a few of his past threads and he is totally in the liberal camp. He is not interested in hearing anything other than the Marxists left wing propaganda.
- alkajazz, on 05/09/2008, -2/+8Hardly
- Nannybell, on 05/11/2008, -0/+3Yes, I know he is liberal. That he is 19 does not disqualify him from discussion, though. We all have to start somewhere. :)
- alkajazz, on 05/09/2008, -2/+9Please give me some facts. Give me your side of the story.
- AThoughtOrTwo, on 05/10/2008, -2/+4Hey, they are only in 6th grade!!! Sorry, but I think they gives them a little time to learn the truth... About 8 to 10 years. (IF they move away from CA!)
I'm not so worried about the kids - they grow up.
It's the adults who don't have the critical skills that are necessary to see through this BS that worry me the most...- kirralin23, on 05/11/2008, -0/+4Since we already have adults who cannot see through this and they are the ones raising the kids I think we are in trouble.
- ROaks, on 05/09/2008, -7/+12Taquoshi, I agree with everything you said except, "Sadly, these are the students that will be eventually entering the work force and they will be in for a shock when they do". - KJeffV, on 05/09/2008, -7/+18These examples were GRADE SCHOOL letters!? They sound sound exactly like all the typical "arguments" I hear/read fr/the ADULT Left.
- Nannybell, on 05/09/2008, -6/+12That's because that's who they are parroting. Grade school kids do not have their own ideas. They believe what they're told by people they trust. That's why this is so stupid.
- kirralin23, on 05/11/2008, -0/+3My grade schoolers have come up with some pretty original ideas of their own. At the age of four my son watched a documentary on Pearl Harbor with my husband. I didn't know about it. About six months later he stood up in pre-school and said Japanese people are evil. I had no idea where that had come from. When I talked to my husband and found out about the documentary I was surprised to find out that my husband hadn't spoken to my son during the documentary or discussed it with him afterward. Children are able to assimilate information and come to conclusions just like adults. That is why it is so important to monitor what your children are exposed to and discuss these issues with them. My son now knows that being Japanese does not make you evil, but it took a lot to convince him. I finally had to track down a previous pre-school teacher who was born in Japan and have him talk to her to convince him. Children are not always parroting someone else. And most adults are also parroting other adults, there are not all that many original ideas in the world. But just because somebody else has a belief first does not mean that you cannot hold that belief just as dear as the first person. This is not stupid. These children are being indoctrinated while they are young and easily swayed. This is tragic and dangerous.
- Harvester1, on 05/09/2008, -5/+13Very true, KJeffV. Too bad the teacher who fed them all this angst and propagada didn't also feed them the rules of correct grammer and punctuation!
- KJeffV, on 05/09/2008, -4/+7Amen!
- Nannybell, on 05/09/2008, -6/+12That's because that's who they are parroting. Grade school kids do not have their own ideas. They believe what they're told by people they trust. That's why this is so stupid.
- jimfix37, on 05/09/2008, -4/+16It is obvious that there are no Science Teachers in this school.
- DavidS9, on 05/09/2008, -1/+10Its getting to the point where there are no Science teachers anywhere. When I was is school my bio teacher flunked half the class because they didn't want to watch Al's dumb ass movie. I almost flunked because I couldn't control my laughter.
- CBound, on 05/10/2008, -2/+3Are you stretching the truth here David? What school was this?
- DavidS9, on 05/12/2008, -0/+1It's the JC where I live. I was taking a bio class and she decided that we should watch the Idiot's Truth, the funniest thing about it was she made us watch after teaching us the basic steps of proving scientific theories. And I am strtching it just alittle I slept through most of the movie.
- CBound, on 05/10/2008, -2/+3Are you stretching the truth here David? What school was this?

- jesusis1, on 05/09/2008, -4/+12It appears as though Al Gr (that is pronounced Al Ger) in his efforts to line his pockets has successfully brain washed the little ones. Al Gr, are you proud of yourself? By the way Al Gr, your movie had the other guy's title on it. It was supposed to be "A Convenient Lie". Ever notice that the ice you see on TV sliding into the ocean is always the same ice cube. The earth is cyclic in all things. If it isn't then why does the sun rise in the east every 24 hours and why does the earth complete 1 orbit around the sun every 365.25 days? Al Gr, haven't you made enough money by now?
- chickenbig, on 05/09/2008, -4/+14Whatever the global warming clowns are doing to cool the planet, it is working. The Pacific NW has been FREEZING for the last 7 months! BRRRRRRR......turn up the heat, Al, and quit hogging it for yourself.
- nutz2u2, on 05/09/2008, -2/+8You ain't kidding, chickenbig. We've used 35% more electricity this last month vs. the corresponding month last year for heating.
- rkeyo, on 05/09/2008, -4/+13California is over the left edge and for years, has been shamelessly indoctrinating the children forced to attend its government schools. THIS is child abuse at its worst, depriving these children of an education and turning them into mindless little neofascist parrots, incapable of thinking for themselves. Add to this that the California legislature and its "Governor" is encouraging the Mexican invasion of the state, it is just a matter of time before a real crisis develops that will not be pretty...
- tradcath4ever, on 05/09/2008, -4/+10This just proves the sad state the CA schools are in. These poor kids are being used by the G.W. propaganda machine. Just how low will the AlGore crowd go to control, CONTROL, CONTROL the lives of every human on this planet. I sure wish these creeps would get lives of their own and stay out of ours.
- kemojr, on 05/09/2008, -3/+11This is one reason among many that the educational agenda should be set by parents and not by the loony elitists that make up a significant portion of the educational establishment. These people use children as "cannon fodder" to push their agenda. They should not be allowed to do this especially to grade school children. I can only assume they do this because they know that grade school children are easily influenced by adults and they have a captive audience to which they can spew their bile.
I am not trying to make light of the global warming theory, but it should be examined further and debated. The free exchange of ideas is a hallmark of what we call "democracy." For the educational establishment to stifle the questioning of what they deem proper is just a glaring example of their own dictatotial leftist thinking. i.e. Their ideas do no justice to the cause of free men.- ROaks, on 05/09/2008, -2/+5Kemoir, "these people....." are left wing marxists. Fredrick Engels and Karl Marx believed in changing a society through the children and that is exactly what is going on. Where the United States is concerned our education community started going down hill with socialist John Dewey. Someone may have to correct me but if I am not mistaken John Dewey is considered the father of our education system. I will be checking that out myself. I do know he is considered a (gag) hero.
- kirralin23, on 05/11/2008, -1/+2I thought John Dewey was considered the father of our library system, the dewey decimal system.

- LifeguardMom, on 05/09/2008, -7/+14Just another reason to home school your children. Get them out of these government run indoctrination centers. They are detrimental to the true education of your children.
When I was in junior high in the early 70's, everyone was screaming about the coming "ice age". Now it's global warming. These scientists don't know facts from a hole in the ground. - Nannybell, on 05/09/2008, -7/+14Abolish the leftist, immoral National Education Association**. Boycott public schools in California until they cry uncle. In fact, boycott public schools, and start pushing really hard on the govt. to take back our hard-earned dollars from these leftist indoctrination camps.
**(Don't tell me about all the good the NEA is doing and all the dedicated teachers who belong to this sorry organization. I know what platforms they support.) - farmerjohn48pan, on 05/09/2008, -6/+12This shouldn't be a surprise. The indoctrination of our children in public schools has been going on for years. This is the result. Mindless drones that spew forth what they have been told to. Not only that, they do it just like the left does. Insults and threats, attack when lacking facts. We are in big trouble in this country.
- paidhima, on 05/09/2008, -2/+4"Mindless drones that spew forth what they have been told to."
is followed by:
"Not only that, they do it just like the left does."
Sarcasm, or irony? I hope for the former, but fear it's the latter.
- paidhima, on 05/09/2008, -2/+4"Mindless drones that spew forth what they have been told to."
- ccso8462, on 05/09/2008, -5/+7These are the morons that well-educated home schoolers will be competing against for jobs. This type of brainwashing of the sheeple could be good for the future, except that the government is passing laws that will allow people to get good jobs based on their politics and not on their brains or merit.
- CBound, on 05/10/2008, -0/+5Ccso, I'm all for home schooling and home schoolers. Being a home school grad myself, I can say, unless REPORTS like this one sweep the MSM and cause adults to awake from their stupor, it wil NOT be a good thing for our future to have the vast majority brainwashed, even in the short term. Home schoolers don't need a dumbed-down workforce to succeed.
- nutz2u2, on 05/09/2008, -3/+9The two schnooks "teaching" this class may eventually battle it out for 'Secretary of Education' in Obama's cabinet.
- LadyAmerica, on 05/11/2008, -0/+1Or McCain's. He supports this global warming hysteria too, I'm sad to say.
- oestec, on 05/09/2008, -6/+9"She said some of the students expressed their belief they would be dead in 10 years.".
Has anyone else noticed the evil, ironically, at work here?
The california schools teach that homosex is OK and should be encouraged. However, if you actually follow the ***** lifestyle, you actually COULD BE dead in ten years. Somehow, though, that's perfectly acceptable to teach children.
The reality of disease, suffering and death from homosex is very real, unlike the outlandish (and scientifically unsupported) doom scenarios painted by global warming fanatics (al gores movie used an un-attributed shot from The Day after Tomorrow as if it were the actual coast of Antarctica! It was a total CGI LIE!!!) , which will NOT in fact lead to anyone being "dead in 10 years"; yet, the teacher here had no qualms about manipulating the children's immature minds to mirror his perspective (as well as his obvious lack of decorum - otherwise, why would the kids be so insulting? They are being taught that it is OK to be intolerant to those who are perceived as practitioners of intolerance. It is the way of the liberal left - watch out for it).- ROaks, on 05/09/2008, -2/+7It appears some cowardly pervert dugg you down without the courtesy of explaining themselves.
- chickenbig, on 05/09/2008, -2/+7This is a very astute comment! Thank you for sharing it!
- sexydarin, on 05/09/2008, -12/+4Fire their ***** teacher. You don't know ***** kids, that's why you're in the 6th grade.
- ROaks, on 05/09/2008, -3/+11dugg down for the filth you wrote.
- sexydarin, on 05/11/2008, -3/+2it's nothing compared to the leftist filth these children are being indoctrinated with.
- Taquoshi, on 05/10/2008, -2/+2Oh yeah....fire the teacher and face the union grievance and the court case. More money down the rat hole.
- ROaks, on 05/09/2008, -3/+11dugg down for the filth you wrote.
- nippinawassee, on 05/09/2008, -5/+9and here is an example of our public education at work! I haven't seen algore's masterpiece but city officials gave everyone the afternoon off to go see it (ordered to do so) - many many went, bought the ticket, turned around and walked back to their car and spent the afternoon doing whatever... as long as they had the ticket stub to turn in... a television 'news show' not too long ago showed the scene of a huge iceberg 'calving' - losing a big chunk of the berg with a big splash - and the news commentator asked the visitor: does this look familiar to you? she said: yes - that's MY scene out of a movie - all done with computers... not real... and algore did not ask permission to use it... it was made for the movie 'the last days' and all was done by comp. ...
How nice... the public school is using dumbbuttgore's movie as a TEACHING TOOL and they are too stupid to realize it's all mockup... our future is bleak except for the home schooled children because they've already sucked the brains rightout of the public school children (other than those that have parents who have counteracted the stupidity of the PS system). Oh well, they'll fit right into the environmental whackos group that will once again take over the country when BHMO takes the WHouse...- kirralin23, on 05/11/2008, -0/+4I didn't know that scene with the iceberg was fake. - newKeith, on 05/10/2008, -1/+9It would be interesting to know how these kids (school) are scoring on math and reading. I'd hope the scores are great to allow time for this nonsense but I'll bet they're failing.
- The7Sticks, on 05/10/2008, -4/+1I can't help but snicker at how a bunch of adults can get henpecked by children. Well, all I can say is Ha Ha.
- mcrunch2, on 05/10/2008, -0/+4The original 'Star Trek' used to make fun of Russia and its 'history'. I guess the new star trek will be making fun of the US's 'history-onics'. Lets see, Ensign Smith (American now doing what Chekov used to do), who was that great inventor who created the internet and cooled the world before it bacame a big ball of fire?'
'Why, that was Al Gore, famous american scientist and leader of the U.N.' :) - AThoughtOrTwo, on 05/10/2008, -1/+5Want to wager that the TEACHER of these 6th graders gave this as a writing assignment - it was NOT DONE by a group of students without an adult to lead them to this letter writing.
- Brumbar, on 05/10/2008, -2/+3Joseph Goebbels and his minions fed the children and citizens of a country lies and it spawned one of the greatest horrors this world has known. Worse was that they were sure they were in the right. Parents and communities need to band together and bring down organizations such as the National Eduction Association and have direct oversight at what is taught in public schools. Science classes are not domain for children to be fed a diet of propaganda and then compelled to spew hate mail. That teacher should be dragged out behind the bleachers and soundly broken. Once that is done, tar and feathers and a backwards ride out of town on a jackass would seem appropriate.
- Ruler4you, on 05/12/2008, -2/+2Little brain dead morons behaving exactly as the establishment wants. No facts, no data just hate and name calling. That's education? in our public schools it is.
