Side note: We had a huge mantis next to our house a few weeks ago, and it didn't respond to my son's queries. So he switched to Spanish, wondering if that was the problem. - GorfTron, on 12/13/2008, -2/+38He is alone because he is an Atheist Mantis traitor.

- chronobyte, on 12/12/2008, -1/+28That is one grumpy mantis
- ScottMcIntyre, on 12/12/2008, -1/+22I'm sure it was the problem- praying mantis don't speak English! ;-)
- albyliontk, on 12/12/2008, -3/+24Oh hai!
- cerealjynx, on 12/13/2008, -1/+17If someone killed a mantis in front of me, It'd work up some weird hippie rage I'm sure. I'm not like that about any other bug. But mantis' are just plain neat.
- existentialduck, on 12/13/2008, -0/+14¿Cuál es el sentido de la vida señor mantis?
- crushifier, on 12/13/2008, -0/+8***** you i'm a mantis
- Brallit, on 12/13/2008, -0/+6Holy freakin' Christmas! That thing is uber creepy-scary for a little bug-critter. I'd really like to see how a specimen like that came to evolve... it boggles my mind.
- akchrs, on 12/13/2008, -3/+9Why can't bugs like that be 40 feet high.
- ChuckDees, on 12/13/2008, -1/+7Zorak is correct Sir
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOwU6BPfH6E&fea ... - dizam, on 12/13/2008, -0/+6Great picture, taken with a cheap point and shot... Some people believe you can only get nice pics with a $4k 1D...
- Chjoma10, on 12/13/2008, -1/+6Get that guy a beer
- ZombieSociety, on 12/13/2008, -0/+5However many pedes it has, it's too many.
- thesha1, on 12/13/2008, -0/+5because that would be horrifying.
- borninda818, on 12/13/2008, -2/+6Buried for being a picture of a praying mantis.
- nick111, on 12/13/2008, -0/+4Praying Mantids have funny eyes... they have little dark dots (which look like pupils) floating in the centre of bigger translucent green orbs... so they look like they're looking straight at you, regardless of the angle etc.
- GorfTron, on 12/13/2008, -0/+4I trust no man who needlessly kills a mantis.
- spepin, on 12/13/2008, -1/+5Must have been a long day of ripping off heads.
- timothycrash01, on 12/13/2008, -0/+4That Mantis has been trained by Mr. Miyagi.
- PullingTeeth, on 12/13/2008, -0/+3You talkin' to me?
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/05/Pray ... - inactive, on 12/13/2008, -4/+7reminded me of a youtube video where a girl eats a praying mantis. yes, eats.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RC8UedU3B4 - kaivalangi, on 12/13/2008, -0/+3that's a millipede, actually.
- Icelightning, on 12/13/2008, -0/+3About a year ago, I had a praying mantis fly into my apartment and land on my computer monitor. And then it explored my desk for about a half-hour while I took pictures before I let it back out. It seemed to like sitting on my monitor, the printer, and the water bottle the best.
They are such awesome insects. - akchrs, on 12/13/2008, -0/+3I think you're thinking of mantisturbation.
- sigmaman2, on 12/13/2008, -0/+3LOL
It's ZORAK! - JTTM, on 12/13/2008, -0/+3i'd let her eat my mantis anyday
- inactive, on 12/13/2008, -1/+4he will not hesitate to ***** you up
- Rantipole, on 12/13/2008, -0/+3Those things can be mean! When I was photographing this guy, he started following the camera around trying to attack it: http://subvariance.com/view/565
- rframpton, on 12/13/2008, -1/+3She might be pregnant.
- wrobson, on 12/12/2008, -4/+6"Why are you praying Mr.Mantis?"
- v0ider, on 12/13/2008, -2/+4Dawkins Mantis?
- emkaysmith, on 12/13/2008, -0/+2As a kid, I used to catch mantises every year and keep them between my bedroom window and the screen, and feed them hand-caught crickets and occasional cockroaches. After a while, my mother would make me clean out all the discarded carapaces and feet. (Don't know why, but they never ate the feet. . . .) Never got tired of watching them -- the original Bug-Eyed Monster.
- ZombieSociety, on 12/13/2008, -0/+2I disagree. The scariest bug enlarged to building-size would be a praying mantis with a flamethrower.
- jiveturkeyblues, on 12/13/2008, -1/+3because they have open circulatory systems, and if they were that large, blood would not effectively travel to all the parts of their bodies?
- smoothmann, on 12/13/2008, -0/+2I would so hit that, even with that in her mouth
- Shissy, on 12/13/2008, -1/+3The scariest bug enlarged to building size would be the Praying Mantis.
- TheScreamer, on 12/13/2008, -0/+2Thanks for the desktop background :)
- Ruger11mcrdpi, on 12/13/2008, -0/+2They don't rest, it's just taking a tactical pause!
- aalmeida259, on 12/13/2008, -1/+3What a smug *****.
- inactive, on 12/13/2008, -0/+2I have trouble coordinating 2 pedes..
But then again I am White... - inactive, on 12/13/2008, -0/+1Yes nice but here is the King....
Submit to his rule or die...(I heard that from somewhere.)
http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=5112094 - radicalchaos, on 12/13/2008, -0/+1Um, beer tastes good. Unless you're a teenage girl.
- P5ycHo, on 12/13/2008, -0/+1Nice mountain goat !!
- ninjagames, on 12/13/2008, -0/+1He is just chillin' and looking cool for the cam ;)
Never released how sharp his pincher arms are. - fjsferreira, on 12/13/2008, -0/+1A teenage girl tastes better than beer...
- wrestlingnrj, on 12/13/2008, -0/+1Had one sitting in my entry way for about 3 weeks. My brother took a picture of it every time he walked through the entry way. I need to find those pictures.
- whalt, on 12/13/2008, -0/+1Mantis does not rest. He watches and waits.
