- pegothejerk, on 05/18/2009, -1/+38That's why I use only the finest canned air.
- Assad, on 05/18/2009, -2/+25in other news, living causes death.
- norman619, on 05/18/2009, -1/+15Evolution - mutation same thing. Changes brough on by external stresses in the environment.
- xsecretfiles, on 05/18/2009, -1/+14Evolution?
- anklesnap, on 05/18/2009, -3/+16Does this mean I might grow another liver?
- sockpuppets, on 05/18/2009, -0/+12I wrapped myself in latex and stayed in your mother.
- sybersnake, on 05/18/2009, -4/+12Just another reason why we need clean fuel cars. Imagine smog-less cities.
- harrisbradley, on 05/18/2009, -1/+9Meh, radioactive spider only takes one day
- elfprince13, on 05/18/2009, -2/+10if you're used to nice clean air you can actually taste/feel the difference when you go to the city.
- Heidenreich12, on 05/18/2009, -5/+12Maybe i should wrap myself in bubble wrap and stay in my mothers basement. I'm sure i'd be safe then
- inactive, on 05/18/2009, -2/+9I live in a city with terrible air pollution of particulate matter :( makes my lungs hurt some days.
- protodon, on 05/18/2009, -2/+9I was trying to read this and then I turned into a fish monster. the end.
- inactive, on 05/18/2009, -1/+8great another thing to put in my somewhat hypochondriac mind. Makes perfect sense, but dammit.
- rendus688, on 05/18/2009, -0/+6Eco-nazi's?? You're just as sensationalist as the "scandal" you're "revealing".
- inactive, on 05/18/2009, -0/+6Maybe...
- inactive, on 05/18/2009, -2/+7i'm moving to the country side. but first i have to make some money in my youth.
- SpinningHead, on 05/18/2009, -0/+5You could just become a conservative and pretend the pollution actually makes you strong.
- MacBandit, on 05/18/2009, -0/+5Evolution isn't always a good thing. In fact it's usually the opposite. The death of unhealthy and the unfit makes the gene strain better. Survival of the fittest and all that stuff.
- DiggRage, on 05/18/2009, -3/+7Buried for this... "Articles like these tend to be used by the eco-NAZI's to scare people who are ignorant of how scientific research works, most of the public, into doing what they want them to do."
- TheUngod, on 05/18/2009, -0/+4You're moving to the country? Gonna eat you a lot of peaches?
- DiggRage, on 05/18/2009, -1/+5The "truth" must be a slippery concept, for you norman619. In any case, I said I buried you not for your points above, but for the sentence of yours I quoted, which pretty much trashed your entire post for me.
- fatal616, on 05/18/2009, -1/+5Hi! They say "may" IN ALL STUDIES. it takes hundreds of studies before they can claim any theory a fact. This is 2nd grade common science sense here.
Also eco-nazis scaring people??? really?? who? I don't see people dumping their cars and growing their own food fearing for the worst because of articles like this. Which shows maybe they/we are not doing enough about what could very well be a serious problem for our and our children's future. - GoodOldNeon, on 05/18/2009, -1/+5a side effect of evolving into a velociraptor is the loss of all higher cognitive functions.
- KibblesnBitts, on 05/18/2009, -0/+4Canned Air? ***** that, I'll just get Mega Maid to suck all the air out of Druidia.
- MD2389, on 05/18/2009, -0/+3So let me get this straight....breathing polluted air will alter my DNA. This sounds like a setup for yet another Stan Lee series.
- fatal616, on 05/18/2009, -1/+4If we could just get those water powered cars out already that would be great. Too bad you can't make money off water otherwise we would be driving them by now.
- Rudegar, on 05/18/2009, -0/+3or he could just use it as raid so drinking waaaayyy too much would not kill him :P
- dtr300, on 05/18/2009, -1/+4Yes, I saw you in the L.A. River.
- inactive, on 05/18/2009, -0/+3Thats why I always laugh when the cancer hospital gives out cars in their fund raising lottery.
- Hrodrik, on 05/18/2009, -1/+3Is this news? Scientists have known this since they knew what caused cancer.
- jdames1980, on 05/18/2009, -0/+2If you do, just think of how much you could sell it for on the black market!
- sockpuppets, on 05/18/2009, -1/+3Like this?
http://www.poetv.com/video.php?vid=41632 - fatal616, on 05/18/2009, -1/+3i don't consider cancer evolution but hey - maybe thats just me.
- inactive, on 05/18/2009, -2/+4Damage? or make awesome?!
- WhaneTheWhip, on 05/18/2009, -1/+3Ah, that explains the extra set of toes I now have, Viva L.A.!
- MacBandit, on 05/18/2009, -0/+2I don't know but I see them every where I go.
- damnshoes, on 05/18/2009, -1/+3but can it change my SOUL!?!
- MacBandit, on 05/18/2009, -0/+2Hydrogen powered.
- Rudegar, on 05/18/2009, -0/+2how does one bring about the living dead ?
- unicornrainbow, on 05/19/2009, -0/+2But where are the associated mutant powers?!
- GoodOldNeon, on 05/18/2009, -0/+2"Notice how they use the word "May." That means they haven't been able to find a real verifiable link between air pollution and DNA damage."
no. It means that they didn't do a specific study on that situation, but based on their current findings, it's makes sense. - Askee, on 05/18/2009, -0/+2Perriair FTW
- TVarmy, on 05/18/2009, -0/+2Actually, you should go for wax paper or unbleached paper towels. Dioxins and plastic byproducts could offgas. Also, get your mom to use organic soap in the laundry machines down there, and make sure that radon fan is working first! And what about the lead paint on the wall and steps on the way down?
- Krissam, on 05/18/2009, -0/+2i like how you said you'd "STAY" in your mothers basement :)
- Grueslayer, on 05/18/2009, -1/+3We'll all be dead soon anyway... the sun will supernova in a few billion years.
- 3The3Dude3, on 05/19/2009, -0/+2I'll take it. I don't want to live in a tee-pee hunting buffalo with wooden stone headed spears.
- Hellahulla, on 05/18/2009, -0/+2You're doomed, best just live like there is no tomorrow.
- inactive, on 05/18/2009, -0/+2ask Joan Rivers she would know.
- GoodOldNeon, on 05/18/2009, -1/+3I do think it's counter productive to report on these "breaking" stories of scientific research however. the news articles rarely cite the research paper, and that's usually because the paper hasn't been published yet. regardless, how am I supposed to look this up and read the paper for myself?
it's as if the news article assumes it's readers are ignorant and lazy...
oh wait, most of us are. - Mike17102, on 05/18/2009, -0/+2To bad those damn laws of physics always side with Big Oil! Its a plot I tell you!
