Petrol Crashed through the $10 per gallon in Britain
solarshingles.blogspot.com — Patrol broke the line of $10 per gallon in Britain and world leaders still worship the oil, which is racing towards $200 per barrel. Renewable energy is free and endless.

- smoothape, on 05/07/2008, -0/+2This is a topic that should be part of the General Election. Will the next President dump cash into all renewable energy projects? Bush didn't, he makes money from oil. I just wonder if Al Gore were to have gotten into the White house, would there be a 100 mile per gallon car? Would every house have a solar panel, etc.?
- ervinGPD, on 05/07/2008, -0/+2Better to 'dump' cash into renewable and it will stay in America, than to dump it to the war and dead young soldiers.
I think, first should have been investment in higher efficiency rates at absolutely all levels of society, from power grid, cars, public transport, airplanes, households, companies, nuclear, coal power plants, army ....
Than, could you imagine to spend $3-5 trillion for a real American energy independence (the cost of war)? - normlsparky, on 05/08/2008, -0/+3i hope that our next president will put the good of people before corporate profits. this policy should encompass all areas, but its importance in the energy sector can't be emphasized enough. we should develop a "use it or lose it" policy regarding the patents on alternative energy. i would like to see a policy that would prevent corporations from buying rights to competing technologies and then shelving them, preventing development by anyone else. it would be interesting to do an audit of the oil companies and see how many patents they currently own that would fall into this category. it would not surprise me to see a very long list. this tactic serves the few at the expense of the rest of us. investing tax payer dollars into new technologies may never yield any results if these results can be promptly purchased and buried.
