Now I can eat more Milano cookies to help the environment!- vincebodie, on 10/16/2008, -1/+2Unfortunately most if not all of Pepperidge Farms' products are full of crap that's no good for you, and Global Warming (or Climate Change or Climate Control as they called it in the debates tonight) is such a specious bit of science that most of the impact of this story is lost when solid evidence to the contrary is revealed to the previously uninformed.
I'd be more impressed if they went 100% organic and swore off all pesticides and nitrate based fertilizers, FOREVER.

"That's the most fun we ever have had." - evil-doer, on 10/16/2008, -0/+28Remember those sweet, warm New England summers? Remember sipping lemonade underneath a shady tree? Remember when you hit that pedestrian with your car at the crosswalk and then just drove away? Pepperidge Farm remembers, but Pepperidge Farm ain't just gonna keep it to Pepperidge Farm's self free of charge. Maybe you go out and buy yourself some of these distinctive Milano cookies, maybe this whole thing disappears.

- m85476585, on 10/16/2008, -2/+2Fuel cells are useless by themselves–they still need fuel. How do we know they aren’t just using hydrogen from dirty coal? It would be 90+% efficient if they just used electricity made by the coal plant (after the inefficiency of the coal plant), instead of using the electricity to make hydrogen, then ussing hydrogen to make electricity. If they are running their fuel cells directly off natural gas, why not build a traditional gas turbine, which makes plenty of heat to run the ovens (and probably saves money)? Or why not just burn natural gas directly in the ovens?
Fuel cells are practical in cars because they let us store energy in chemical form and refuel instead of recharge. The energy still has to come from somewhere, whether it is coal, nuclear, or renewable energy.- dblespresso, on 10/16/2008, -0/+1hippies dont like science.
