- Stevethegreat, on 07/08/2008, -1/+8Remember kids, genetically engineered foods are bad for you. Let's neglect the fact that all the farmlands of this earth cannot feed the expanding population, let's forget the fact that genetically engineered crops can feed millions where "biological" can feed thousands. Let's forget the fact that most genetically engineered food are no worse quality-wise than biological crops. Let's forget the fact that slowing down the "improved crops" hundreds of millions are hungry while they would not be so otherwise. Let's all resist new technologies because they come from hell, let's all return to nature which means back in the trees eating natural bananas and cleaning the flees from each other's backs. Let's beat once and for all those evil corporations and the technical civilization that they brought along with them let's return in the pre-industrial era where people were living 30 years on average full of illness, bad luck and greedy kings.
Yeah this new century sucks.....or not? - richardhammond, on 07/07/2008, -0/+4I hope you are not alone...

Just in case Youtube goes down lol, I doubt it would go down. - ScottyF311, on 07/07/2008, -0/+3I'm almost positive I submitted this over a year and a half ago.
- Stevethegreat, on 07/08/2008, -1/+4There is no way that you can use the entire state of California as a farmland, it makes no economical sense, your scenario is not feasible. Engineered crops on the other hand are economically viable and may even become more healthy than "natural" components as long as we get a better grasp of biology. Just because it is in nature doesn't make it holy, it can be improved but also become worse, the difference is that this time YOU choose instead of nature FOR you.

They do contribute to the US farmers destroying tons of crops though, and get paid to do it through subsidies - VacantThoughts, on 07/07/2008, -2/+1It was great until the ending when they tried to stuff their organic ways down my throat.
- inactive, on 07/07/2008, -2/+1Clever and all, but organic doesn't automatically mean better. Last time I checked arsenic is organic but I don't want to eat it.
- o0dhacker0o, on 07/08/2008, -2/+1Hippies...
- cubicledrone, on 07/08/2008, -2/+1"All the farmlands of this earth cannot feed the expanding population."
*****.
The state of California can feed the entire U.S. Drive from L.A. to Vegas some time then tell us all about how there ain't enough land. There's nothing wrong with the same crops we've been growing for centuries, and they don't need to be improved. Most of the extra food we grow rots in a warehouse somewhere because corporate assclown middle managers are too busy writing meeting agendas. You fail it. - clarkcanto, on 07/07/2008, -1/+0people are posting a lot of old stuff, but its all good and funny to watch again
- pyro808, on 07/07/2008, -1/+0Goddammit! I thought this was gonna be a new Chad Vader episode!
- Iwantbatteries, on 07/07/2008, -4/+2GG starving people for your opposition to GM and pesticides. Best person ever, Norman Borlaug has fed an additional billion people. Before you criticize the growing practices of today, realize how many more people we can feed with less land (and therefore less burned forest).
- Scaryclouds, on 07/07/2008, -4/+2Oldie but goldie! However except with a few crops current farming practices are better all around than organic farming.
- Thrilltone, on 07/07/2008, -4/+2Whoops. It was just my penis after all. I was looking at the advertisments.
- cubicledrone, on 07/08/2008, -2/+0No, you don't understand. The current crop output of California is enough to feed the entire country. We don't need any additional farmland. We don't need any new engineering. We need fewer middle managers.
The U.S. and Canada produce enough food between them to provide five-course dinners six times a day to every single oxygen-breathing animal on this planet. Most of our food either rots or is wasted. There is no such thing as a food shortage or water shortage. For all intents and purposes we have unlimited supplies of both until the sun goes dark. Thanks. - wastingtape, on 07/07/2008, -9/+6Very well put together. Tons of attention to detail. Well thought out character names. Good scene cuts. Excellently paralleled with the real Star Wars. Overall a great adaptation/parody.

WE GOT DEATHSTAR - inactive, on 07/07/2008, -11/+4Yaaaaawn. Oh look, hippie propaganda that's against genetically modified foods and other scientific advancements that could help feed the world. Buried as lame...
- ytsohptwhere, on 07/07/2008, -11/+3How the hell does this make the front page? Its older than the internet itself.
