celsias.com — The 165 acre park in Virginia was actually built by converting a local abandoned landfill into the pristine recreational area it is today.It looks great and attracts more than 1 million visitors a year .

- Falldog, on 05/11/2008, -0/+2I think they're rather overstating the 'amusement park' thing, it's more more of a multipurpose park, the place where you'd set up a summer fair.

A lot of companies are doing great to convert old landfills to park space, a benefit to the community and environment. Props to the developers and community to having enough of a sense of humor to name it Mt. Trashmore.
