- LtGenPanda, on 01/07/2009, -1/+19Yes, given Motorola's falling market, this is a good strategy for them to get some attention from a new set of people.
- msaleem, on 01/07/2009, -3/+19Good call Motoralla ;)
- sustainablogger, on 01/07/2009, -3/+19It's a start...
- Itsthezing, on 01/08/2009, -1/+16Now if they could only figure out a way for me to type "me" when I want to type me and "of" when I want to type "of". Mother duckers.
- envi99, on 01/07/2009, -1/+16The race is on...that's great. Just few days back Nokia India announced that it will plant a sapling for every old mobile handset or accessory deposited with its dealers or customer care centers from January 1 2009.

- nichesiteexpert, on 01/08/2009, -1/+12Marketing hype
- moothemagiccow, on 01/08/2009, -2/+10Except the guy who sells you the phone drives two Hummer H3s to work every day. Too bad, hippies!
- azureskies88, on 01/08/2009, -0/+7I can't think of a feature I care less about in a mobile phone.
- 007isbond1, on 01/08/2009, -0/+6i see what you did there.
- WafflePirate, on 01/08/2009, -0/+6The volatile hippie and vegan market?
- nick111, on 01/08/2009, -2/+8There there, back to sleep.
- WafflePirate, on 01/08/2009, -0/+5Recycled water bottles. So theoretically this means that the phone should be cheaper as it is using cheaper recyclable materials, right?
- Gareth321, on 01/08/2009, -0/+5I work in the business and the absolute HIGHEST rate of returns are from Motorola. We're scaling back our contracts and only have one or two models now due to instability and shoddy manufacturing. Number one fault: software.
- cyclonesworld, on 01/08/2009, -0/+5Is it so natural you can eat it?
- zbeast, on 01/08/2009, -1/+6Your going broke, your laying people off you have long ago lost your position as a top
communications company and your big bight Idea is to come out with a carbon neutral cell phone.
Come over here, ya over here bend over... I want to kick you in the ass. - cyclonesworld, on 01/08/2009, -1/+6Unfortunately being Motorola, they won't use that extra money to make the phones UI and software not suck ass.
- SoCalDissident, on 01/08/2009, -0/+5Can I get it in carbon fiber?
- waydee, on 01/08/2009, -5/+9But it's a motorola, it'll be absolutely horrible to use.
- Alias1431, on 01/08/2009, -1/+55 bucks says I'll see someone talking on one of these as they sit behind the wheel of their Hummer.
- 007isbond1, on 01/08/2009, -0/+4lol, T9 is standard on all mobiles these days, its not a Motorola specific 'issue'. You can turn it off...
- hanselsohot, on 01/08/2009, -0/+4Good way of guiting people into buying the phone
Think of the ad campaign; if you don't but this phone your are killing the world (more specifically baby kittens and all the rest that is cutein the world) - TyrannousDotNet, on 01/08/2009, -0/+4whats the ecological effect when everyone throws out this crappy phone?
- FightTest, on 01/08/2009, -0/+4Number one attribute I look for in my phone is complete and total apathy towards carbon.
- jeffkee, on 01/08/2009, -0/+4"Theoretically."
- PhillyOC, on 01/08/2009, -0/+4It makes me sick to think that I have owned 14 cell phones in my life, and I'm only 35.
- Muffinhunter, on 01/08/2009, -4/+7since when is carbon bad?
- consumerwhores, on 01/08/2009, -4/+7The green movement is terrible for the middle and low class.
- GoldYoshi, on 01/08/2009, -1/+4Your finger will break through it when you hit the power button. :D
- IAmADiggAddict, on 01/08/2009, -0/+3I hope Motorola makes it, it created the Razr boom of 2006, maybe if they focused more on software than hardware, they would make it
- bwuest, on 01/08/2009, -0/+3It will go great with my poncho I made out of a used trash bag...
- rezonq3, on 01/08/2009, -0/+3Wouldn't carbon neutral also mean it would charge itself from static electricity, solar power, body heat and anything else other than a wall outlet?
- McNash, on 01/08/2009, -0/+3Not if Sanjay Gupta can help it.
- ChromaVita, on 01/08/2009, -0/+3That would be pretty cool though. I picture him using the two H3s like horses to drive a giant chariot.
- tdelet, on 01/08/2009, -0/+3It's marketing and it is a load of crap.
- cheezintern, on 01/08/2009, -0/+2and a bonfire!
- njhardc0re, on 01/08/2009, -0/+2Build a car out of recycled water bottles than I'll be impressed.
- hazyeight, on 01/09/2009, -0/+2Carbon is one of the elements in CO2, which is a greenhouse gas. A greenhouse gas is a gas that contributes to the greenhouse effect by absorbing infrared radiation. Releasing greenhouse gases into the atmosphere that have been sequesters for millions of years in oil/coal/natural gas deposits can cause climate changes.
- TyrannousDotNet, on 01/08/2009, -0/+2what better way to lower production expenses!?
make your product from "free" trash! - homescrubb, on 01/10/2009, -0/+2wrong thread.
- PhillyOC, on 01/08/2009, -0/+2That is fantastic. Every little bit does actually help.
- envi99, on 01/13/2009, -0/+2Thanks...that's the motive behind yellowsandblues.com
- amk29j, on 01/09/2009, -0/+2Recycling uses a ***** ton of water. Yes yes, I know. Some of us will never be happy.
- McNash, on 01/08/2009, -1/+3Give it a rest, damn.
- NerveBand, on 01/08/2009, -0/+2Who types "of" more than "me"? Stupid T9!
- rivasj, on 01/08/2009, -0/+2I want carbon neutral carbon.
- MrFisty, on 01/08/2009, -0/+2Yeah, I mean I'm no scientician, but I'm curious how they managed to make the metal components of the phone as well as the battery "entirely out of recycled water bottles".
- DanielThePoet, on 01/12/2009, -0/+2Sadly, they won't do their whole line in this manner until years down the road. The reason people will buy this phone is because there is only one option. An entire line of phones would have provided too many options and ultimately backfired. This way, it's their competition to the iPhone, the Razr, and the Blackberry Storm, i.e. phone for phone competition (although not providing the same options).
It's all about the marketing strategy. - tmt64, on 01/08/2009, -0/+2^ I do.
The T9 in my Sony Ericsson puts the most frequently used words as default. However that's not his point.. - Gareth321, on 01/08/2009, -0/+2The razr propelled them into the history books but a short time after their rise, they switched to cheaper PCB/mainboard manufacturers. It was like night and day when the faults started occurring. I think it's a combination of hardware integration with their software. The company is bloated now and one hand doesn't talk to the other. When they change RAM manufacturers or specs, it can take months or years for the software to properly utilize the new module.
