  • elasticsoul, on 03/01/2008, -0/+3Jared Diamond's book "Collapse" covered some of this in detail. An eye-opening read, for those who haven't. One of the things it most clearly illustrates is that humans throughout time have imbued our leaders with qualities they don't have, such as greater wisdom, and ignored their greed and self-serving behaviour.
