- WhiskeyWrites, on 03/20/2008, -0/+3I'm not sure if 5 years is enough to show a big trend.
- Doofy, on 03/20/2008, -0/+2What about those pesky "new ice age" years of the 1970's?
- WhiskeyWrites, on 03/21/2008, -0/+1Thats kind of why I mentioned 5 years not being enough to show a trend. If we looked at this for 100 years would it look better? Worse? The same? We had record snowfall here in NH in December, but that doesn't really mean anything on its own. Even if we had close to the same for the next five years, it wouldn't necessarily mean anything long term.
- vault, on 03/21/2008, -1/+2Well in the past 100 years, the global temperature went up a whopping 0.7 degrees. That doesn't mean anything, except to the warm-mongering eco-Marxists who use it as a political tool.
- KSUdesigner, on 03/21/2008, -0/+1This doesn't show a trend at all. All they did was pick one day per year (the first day of spring) over the past 5 years. Sorry but if you really want to this to be effective you need to show averages of snow cover over the course of the entire winter, and over a lot more than 5 years. According to this, if a city gets a freak snowstorm that dumps a few feet of snow on March 20, 2009, we will be heading for an ice age and spring will be coming later. This data proves nothing at all.
- sjbdallas, on 03/21/2008, -0/+1Yep. They found their niche to support their theories: the past 5 to 10 years. Anything else muddies the waters for them.
- whereisian, on 03/21/2008, -1/+1It's amazing how the snow ends right at the border. It's true, in Ottawa, we haven't had any snow at all.
/ 421.7 cm and counting - blech - doshindude, on 03/21/2008, -1/+1NH still gets 12 feet of snow and -30 degree winters.
What global warming? It's global freaking cooling. - sjbdallas, on 03/21/2008, -1/+1That's probably why they are only showing 5 years. If you look 50 or a hundred their claims of warmer winters wouldn't hold up.
- socialpyramid, on 03/21/2008, -1/+1agreed, but it's still interesting
