- BillE3, on 03/27/2009, -72/+325I am turning on everything possible, including starting the cars and putting head lights on high beam. I might even put up the Christmas lights.
- s0l0s0ul, on 03/28/2009, -17/+236I turn off all of my lights, appliances, and pretty much everything else that consumes energy in my house for atleast 5 hours EVERY night. Its called going to bed.
- FishHammer, on 03/28/2009, -13/+156I'm pouring oil on a duck.
- inactive, on 03/28/2009, -34/+175I leave a 42 inch LCD TV on ALL DAY LONG, EVERY DAY. And that's just FOR MY CAT. I'm not going to make Ham go an hour without animal planet.
You couldn't even begin to imagine how much electricity, water, and fossil fuel my wife and I go through every day just for our own amusement and leisure. - cambob76, on 03/28/2009, -19/+145Just another staged event to make people feel better about themselves. I haven't owned a car in 5 years so I'm leaving my ***** lights on.
- inactive, on 03/28/2009, -4/+111DUI's are a bitch.
- s0l0s0ul, on 03/28/2009, -2/+106some might say my food has gone bad. I just say its gone "green".
- inactive, on 03/28/2009, -27/+117Pure win. I'm doing the same. I may even go around to houses in the area and set off their motion lights by flailing my arms. Maybe the eco-police will kick in our doors and haul us away.
- s0m31john, on 03/28/2009, -14/+86Can you say "empty gesture"?
- DavidTurnbull, on 03/28/2009, -8/+73Dammit, I was planning to activate my replica of the Large Hardon Collider on Saturday night.
- prateeko, on 03/28/2009, -13/+62AMERICA, ***** YEAH!
- FishHammer, on 03/28/2009, -0/+45You can activate my Large Hardon Collider any night.
- Chooxo, on 03/28/2009, -9/+45I'll be out on the streets, shouting at occupants of dark houses to get haircuts.
- danthemanhan, on 03/28/2009, -0/+33you named your cat Ham?
....that's pretty awesome. - anstice85, on 03/28/2009, -2/+34Or maybe the real police will haul you away for having seizures in people's driveways.
- inactive, on 03/28/2009, -8/+39I'm actually breaking into people's houses and turning their lights back on.
I HATE WHALES!!! - blippityblop, on 03/28/2009, -18/+49I bet the volcano in Alaska spewed out more crap in the air than humanity could in a day(http://digg.com/general_sciences/Eruption_on_Augus ...
This global warming movement, is a pyramid money making scheme. - HarrisonBn, on 03/27/2009, -18/+48Some friends and I are making s'mores over candles.
- inactive, on 03/28/2009, -9/+37They better be careful or a plane may hit it.
- inactive, on 03/28/2009, -12/+39You both sound super gay.
- MrSlumberjack, on 03/28/2009, -0/+27Not to be a negative nancy, but wax (paraffin) is a hydrocarbon... when burnt, even candles are known to have byproducts that include volatile organic compounds (VOCs), benzene, toluene and sometimes even lead (wick stabilizer). I'm not sure, but I wouldn't think that it's the best idea to cook food over a candle.
- QuantumBios, on 03/28/2009, -23/+49For every light that gets turned off, I'm turning on 3 for a week.
- Ajajadude, on 03/28/2009, -1/+27By awesome you mean deranged?
I wholeheartedly agree. More booze! - Xaevier, on 03/28/2009, -6/+31I think the only legit reason to tell everyone to turn off their lights would be for the meteors that only pass by once every couple hundred years so everyone can actually see it.
- onlines, on 03/28/2009, -4/+27I'm curious (not bashing it, it's a good idea just poorly planned out) how much of a surge is pushed onto grids when houses/companies/stores began turning lights back on when the hour is up compared to before the switch off.
- TekTrixter, on 03/28/2009, -0/+22The warning lights at the top of the buildings will still be on for aircraft to see.
- HotSaucePanCake, on 03/28/2009, -5/+27More power for me!
- FishHammer, on 03/28/2009, -5/+26Protip: Volcanoes can cause massive temperature drops over MASSIVE areas. They're the one factor everyone seems to ignore in this whole global warming scheme. If a big enough one goes off we could have an instant ice age.
- inactive, on 03/28/2009, -2/+23***** awesome.
- LawMan227, on 03/28/2009, -1/+22funniest thing I've read all day... thanks
- inactive, on 03/28/2009, -8/+28Digg is so much better late at night. It's like all the awesome people come out.
- Suits, on 03/28/2009, -8/+27ya, ***** that. I pay the bills but live in a ghetto-ass-building, we should be so fortunate to have at least one hour of continuous power. Jokes on all you guys, guess I've been green since I moved here. I win.
- borez, on 03/28/2009, -0/+19I can't pry my hamster away from his Xbox.
Glad I'm not the only one. - inactive, on 03/28/2009, -3/+21You stole a comment from someone further down, and inserted your own abortion of it here as a reply in an attempt to look like you came up with it, so you could someday realize your dream of getting 3 diggs on one of your comments.
- MadameMorticia, on 03/28/2009, -4/+22I love how big celebrities are endorsing "Earth Hour". Yeah, like turning off their lights for an hour is going to make up for all the excess consumption, waste & pollution they personally create with their very own luxurious, jet-setting lifestyles.
- chupavacas, on 03/28/2009, -17/+34Collectivists rejoice!
- inactive, on 03/28/2009, -2/+19I turn my lights off every night. I'm not going to pat myself on the back once a year because I like to sleep in the dark.
- centran, on 03/28/2009, -11/+28pathetic... You could do so much more!
I went out and bought a dozen of those halogen work lamps. I hope my breaker can take it. - NorthMass, on 03/28/2009, -4/+20What? So that $100 million Al Gore made was not for the good of humanity?
/s - inactive, on 03/28/2009, -3/+18Hippies can't plan that far ahead.
- Taedirk, on 03/28/2009, -9/+24In related news, don't buy gas on March 30th. That way we can send a message to the petrol industries that we won't stand for their price hikes!
SSDD - r3bol, on 03/28/2009, -2/+17HAHA, I don't know why you're getting dugg down for this, its hilarious!
- Dr.Neko, on 03/27/2009, -16/+31The Empire State Building is scheduled for to turn off it's flood lights for one hour.

- inactive, on 03/28/2009, -24/+37I'm going a step further and pouring gasoline on the weeds, burning a few tires, and cutting a 100 year old oak tree down this weekend. And you think I'm kidding? ***** global warming!
- farfromsubtl, on 03/28/2009, -5/+17/sarcasm?
