- headzoo, on 05/15/2008, -1/+113I think that title needs to be rethought. I was pictuing McCartney flying through the air in a hybrid car.
- m00n1, on 05/15/2008, -0/+69"He" is not being criticised. The article says it was very likely organised by Lexus, not by Paul. Buried for being inaccurate.
- Archcoder, on 05/15/2008, -0/+43I wish I had a flying hybrid shipcar.
- jmpeagle, on 05/15/2008, -2/+29since when did we start replacing the word hypocrisy with irony?
Also, who owns a car that weighs 81,000 pounds.
/ignorant of Britain's currency - imightbewrong, on 05/15/2008, -2/+24Why does it matter? The plane was going to fly either way and the boat was going to travel either way. He's trying to do the right thing. It's petty and stupid to criticize him for this
- cnot3, on 05/15/2008, -0/+21He specifically requested that it be sent to him via yellow submarine!
- 9bpm9, on 05/15/2008, -0/+18That was the only reason I came here - flying cars.
- eliburford, on 05/15/2008, -2/+20Not caring too much.
- Protoss, on 05/15/2008, -0/+15Seriously, I had to read the description to figure out how the ***** Paul McCartney flew inside a hybrid car.
- damawa42, on 05/15/2008, -1/+12Douchebag article and douchebag poster:
"It was not clear if McCartney knew the vehicle would be sent to him via air freight rather than by ship. Rumbold said it seems likely the singer was an innocent victim of a mistake made by Lexus executives."
There ya go. - choopie911, on 05/15/2008, -0/+116?
- GorfTron, on 05/15/2008, -0/+12Just let it be.
- Grummond, on 05/15/2008, -0/+10Being vegan/vegetarian or environmentally aware is a personal choice.
Why should i care if Paul get's his car flown in or dragged by little elves? - ThaDRD, on 05/15/2008, -3/+14"He is a vegetarian who won't even wear leather shoes." You know how much leather is in a Lexus? lol
- rentmitchum, on 05/15/2008, -0/+8Each celebrity on the planet is born under a star sign with some future reporter. That reporter will monitor every single thing that celebrity does for life until they do one criticizable thing and then exploit it. Nature is amazing.
- fxu1989, on 05/15/2008, -0/+7Instead of flying in a ship, eh ?
- ToadLeg, on 05/15/2008, -1/+9This article is *****. I just heard about it and it was Paul himself who had a problem with it when he found out about it. The article says:
"But environmentalists quickly pointed out that the use of a cargo plane to deliver the car to England completely offset any environmental gains resulting from the car's use."
What "environmentalists"? Paul McCartney himself? This is the same kind of anti-environmentalist crap as the "Al Gore lives in a nice house so his message is meaningless" nonsense - they're trying to spin it as if Paul did something and people are calling him out on it, to say "An environmentalist did not support environmentalism so you shouldn't either". Indeed, buried as inaccurate. - Dumbledorito, on 05/15/2008, -0/+7I was picturing the same thing, but in the style of the movie "Yellow Submarine."
- enkafan, on 05/15/2008, -0/+7Every article I've read so far has indicated that Paul McCartney has been "horrified" that they did this. It looks like this is the fault of Lexus.
- bicyclethief, on 05/15/2008, -0/+8Dude, little elves leave teeny carbon footprints.
- chrgrose, on 05/15/2008, -2/+9All this carbon footprint accountability is a joke.
- shadowmoose, on 05/15/2008, -1/+8I don't know about you guys but whenever I get free cars I always make sure to have them shipped by boat.

- blueomega137, on 05/15/2008, -0/+6I guess he just wants to drive his car. Beep beep'm beep beep, yeah?
- inactive, on 05/15/2008, -0/+5nice job reading the article, it was a gift from lexus for his recent tour.
- saahmed, on 05/15/2008, -1/+6He was actually upset that it was flown in. He was told that it would come in by ship. Regardless, this ***** is nonsense.
- inactive, on 05/15/2008, -0/+5you're a ***** moron
- W00DR0W, on 05/15/2008, -2/+8God these people need to stop bitching over every little thing. If it came by ship they'd have have bitched about how much pollution that caused too.
Why doesn't he send it in via banana boat so he can people who probably contribute less him, to the cause. - dwninjungleland, on 05/15/2008, -1/+6BURIED for AOL news. The LEAST reliable, MOST sensationalist news source out there.
- morcheeba, on 05/15/2008, -0/+6You're right! The EPA estimates are 25 mpg city/28 mpg hwy and the NY Times got 19 mpg during their review. The 0-60 time isn't amazing -- 6 seconds. A non-hybrid BMW 330i gets better milage and matches its acceleration.. and has the same size trunk!
http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drives/FullTe ... - sdsoloist, on 05/15/2008, -0/+4But in improving its acceleration with the hybrid system, it is more efficient than doing the same by using a bigger engine. Compare the BMW 760li to the Lexus LS600h - they both make 438 hp, but the BMW gets 13/20 MPG while the Lexus gets 20/22.
- choopie911, on 05/15/2008, -0/+4Read the article Stroggoth.
- makkaveli19, on 05/15/2008, -2/+9haha, that lexus gets less than 20mpg.
- OisinT, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3Still better than anything else he could be using as a limo though.
- blueomega137, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3I am the Walrus... wait that doesnt work.
- OisinT, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3I think that's the point. It's being used as a limo in London.
- Y0tsuya, on 05/15/2008, -2/+5Actually I think you're the one who don't understand.
- bjornski, on 05/15/2008, -0/+5Hey Marty. Your grandma swallows.....
/sorry, first thing that came to mind. That horrible, horrible /b/ picture (which puts me in hysterics when I see it). - Spartycus, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3Thats so what I thought when I read the headline!
- alperea, on 05/15/2008, -1/+4Alanis, is that you?
- bjornski, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3Elitist. I use first-class mail.
/it's just hard to shove under the door - bjornski, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3Found it. It wasn't grandma, but I was close
http://i32.tinypic.com/2epix5c.jpg - chrgrose, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3..GREAT SCOTT!
- DrJack, on 05/15/2008, -0/+6About that bridge, would you be sending it by plane or by ship?
- Twenty, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3Read the ***** article. It's not great but there is information there. *****.
- GorfTron, on 05/15/2008, -0/+4Down the long and winding road... Whameeeee!!!
- bjornski, on 05/15/2008, -1/+5The money saved by cutting out meals far outweighs the money saved by increasing fuel consumption by reducing the weight of the food.
If you seriously think they're cutting back on food so they get better mileage, I have a bridge I'd like to sell you. - mizarone, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3You mean there is a news source more sensationalist that Fox News?!
- bjornski, on 05/15/2008, -0/+2I hate wiping beer off my keyboard.......
