- harumph, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9i took some photos of nanzen-ji this past year. unfortunately, they are much more amazing in person. no photos can really do them justice.
- maiku00, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I wish these were highres! They would make stunning desktops.
- zombiedepot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Very peaceful looking.
- scottylist, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Anyone else wondering where the foot prints are?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"Nice to see where the money of the world really goes."
What does that even mean? Where does the money of the world go? Where does your money go? Probably where you want it to. Some people like to spend thousands on their cars, some on computers or gaming rigs. These folks obviously have a different interest than you. Grow up and get over it. - sneeka2, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6It's crazy how bad grammar can totally ruin a potentially good comment.
- TheCatsPants, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5They look gorgeous. My two cats would think the same, but for different reasons. :-)
- Alkine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If you want one of these in your yard just buy a rake?
- taotehue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i used a clean clay ashtray, some sand, some rocks, and a fork to make a mini zen garden.
I had friend in college who had some traveling Tibetan monks living with her for a week. I got the idea from them. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Haha, I need to show my american studies teacher this. She has a miniature one is her class and gives it to kids who are feeling stressed. It's kinda funny.
- RandomSkratch, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Dude... it's SAND and ROCKS. Last time I checked, those didn't cost very much. But I can see you may have a point. Rakes are quite expensive now a days....
- ShrimpCrackers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@Scotty,
The footprints are not seen because they are raked behind you, and hence erasing your footprints.
I have one in the back that looks much nicer and comes with a koi-pond and a few bridges... cause I'm Asian and you know...
Its almost funny because I prefer a California-style swimming pool instead.
Others take solace in zen-style peacefulness. I prefer crazy American parties. - Desolite, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1for a warrior, overpower.
- AloofDufus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I should put one around the halfpipe in my back yard to show who has been skating without permission.
- zeeneo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1i want to see the mini rake!
- myokuchi2397, on 03/02/2008, -0/+0who knows i should study more about them we used to have one in our back yard but when we moved to Chinatown we forgot about them now my parents are letting me have a mini one
- knomevol, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2what is most important, understanding or overpowering?
- atsushitamura, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I am very glad to know that many foreign people except Japanese have come to appreciate zen gardens located especially in Kyoto. It is a little bit regrettable to tell you that all the Japanese cannot perceive what the gardens represent or find beauty in it.
- ToRoE, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I SAID just kidding. And I thought you all were relaxed! Guess not enough for me to be messing with you!
lighten up frances! ; ^ ) - myokuchi2397, on 03/02/2008, -0/+0yes jus absolutely wonderful i am going to have a miniature one soon
- windowboxes, on 10/03/2008, -0/+0Wow Really beautifully arranged and making a new definition for the gardening............

http://www.flowerwindowboxes.com - manifold1, on 01/29/2008, -0/+0These are great examples. I haven't seen these exact gardens in person but have visited a few others. They're always more impressive in person. A great place to sit and "ponder".
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1nice :)
- lozaning, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2thats crazy that they can make the whoelt hing and leave a single footprint
- resplence, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Looks boring to me.
I once bought one of those miniature zen gardens. Got old real quick. - gmprunner, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3It's supposed to replicate the ripples in water. Does that mean that, in this case, we can walk on water?
- bennybertow, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2"Anyone else wondering where the foot prints are?"
If you meditate long enough, you might be able to float... Though I could think of better things to do if I could fly than raking my garden... - drilldown, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1Beautiful pictures. Nice to see where the money of the world really goes. I find traffic running 90mph during rush hour soothing for me.
Note: It's not a very fast car. - ToRoE, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1YIKESSSS !!!!
just kidding,
