there is no problem adding in fiber optics, wireless internet, and terminal PCs and Macs for the public to use.
Books, CDs, DVDs, Magazines, Newspapers, and reference materials definitely do have their place in our world today - Google can find lots of digital information,
but a great deal more information is not stored in digital format, nor is it free to access off of the internet.
Public Libraries are a cornerstone of democracy, and every intellectual worth his/her thinking understands why that is true.
In a day and age when more is spent on sports than on academics, destroying the Martin Luther King Jr. Library is not only an affront to his memory, it is a crime against all the free people of America.
