- russianmike, on 12/28/2007, -1/+14The kid's like - "Maybe its some kind of delicacy, or a bonus prize that comes with can of the fish." (in Russian)
- andycr512, on 12/28/2007, -0/+12People keep them as pets; you can raise them from eggs easily, and I would say they're more entertaining than fish. They don't live long, though.
- mobilitatis, on 12/28/2007, -1/+13The Fish is a Lie!
- daliminator, on 12/28/2007, -0/+12Triops doesn't have the same kind of segmented shell - Devil'slefthand suggested Ligia Oceanica (sea slater), which looks much more like the thing pictured.

- Cam_86, on 12/28/2007, -0/+8What was up with them placing the 'thing' oddly in all the shots? First they get each person in the house to take it out of the same tin, then they try to feed it to a cat... Its like they tried to put some artistic flare in the report.

- zushiba, on 12/28/2007, -0/+7It's actually worse than it looks. It looks to me like a Cymothoa exigua
Its a parasite that attaches itself at the base of the tongue of the spotted rose snapper, Lutjanus guttatus, with the claws on its front three pairs of legs, and extracts blood. As the parasite grows, less and less blood is able to reach the tongue, and eventually the organ atrophies from lack of blood. The parasite then replaces the fish's tongue with its own body, by attaching to the muscles of the tongue stub. The fish is able to use the parasite just like a normal tongue, except that it has to share its food with the parasite. - LoveYouSomeEric, on 12/28/2007, -0/+6Yes.

- bigdirtymoose, on 12/28/2007, -0/+6i agree with daliminator, especially since triopes aren't native to Asia (except for the Japanese islands) or Europe.
