Global warming hits Washington hard… with SNOW in June
stoptheaclu.com — No matter what happens with the weather, it can always be blamed on global warming. Of course, that only works if you ’re one of the Goracle’s Kool-Aid drinkers. Any kind of weather symptoms whatsoever mean that global warming is real. Really hot? Global warming. Really cold? Global warming. Too many.. or few hurricanes? Global warming...

i) Climate change predicts wild swings in weather with a general trend to warmer weather. The one thing that would be totally unexpected would be a steady uniform increase in temperature.
ii) Contrary to what those in the Beltway may imagine, DC is NOT the whole world. So this means CA and the West is not being ravaged by fires and drought? SC is not in drought?
It is a _global_ phenomena, it is about what is happening overall, not minor, short term, local variations. The world is still warming if the global avg temperature rises over time even if Washington drops to -200.

the final solution = global tyranny
this has been the plan all along by the elites.
The Earth has been much hotter in the distant past, before Man was creating CO2. Chill out dude!- CoolHandLuke70, on 06/26/2008, -6/+10Absolutely correct! And if anyone cares to notice the other planets in our solar system are going through the same changes, Mars and Jupiter and Saturn more specifically! Our greenhouse gases must be making it to those planets! Folks, research this new 'green' religion that is skewing and removing the facts to promote sustainable living laws that are draconian in that they remove people's rights. This is very convenient for a fascist cabal that would like to control the masses and create neo-feudalism!

http://www.ipcc.ch/ipccreports/ar4-syr.htm - imacommi, on 06/27/2008, -1/+4Dugg for providing links and backing up your *****. I'm not being political about this. I like it when people post things in threads so that others can read on and edcuate themselves. My personal opinion is that we probably have something to do with it but we don't have the scientific data going back far enough to actually have any idea. Especially considering the carbon cycle is 300 years. People can freak out all they want, but eventually the earth will deal with us in some fashion or another if we really are the problem. I'm not promoting pollution and I agree with the idea of a carbon tax of some sort because until the problem becomes and economic one and until other countries are compensated (for not developing their land to farm and live in like in the rain forests and other places that are essential to our ecosystem) then it will continue to be deforested and have problems. These places need to be maintained for the better of everyone, but the only way to do it is through some sort of economic incentive system like the carbon tax that was proposed in Kyoto. I don't know enough about the rest of it but I think that is a solid idea; whether or not global warming exists I think we still need to think about taking care of the earth and preserving nature.... God I sound like a hippie

Why, Al Gore is the world's richest man because of this!
Geez.
Get a ***** clue.

- Rabbit63, on 06/27/2008, -3/+2Mate, the problem is that average world temperatures have increasingly been linked directly to Sunspot activity and that is why the average temps have been going down lately.

- Catspaw, on 06/26/2008, -5/+11Global warming theory is politically-motivated bunkum.
Even the most fundamental assumption of the theory of man-made global warming – that carbon dioxide causes the temperature to get higher – is not supported by the evidence! Contradicting Gore’s claim that, “when there is more carbon dioxide, the temperature gets warmer,” ice core data shows that as the temperature rises, the level of atmospheric carbon dioxide follows, with a lag of about 800 years.
For those who didn't know a UK High Court has found that An Inconvenient Truth contained “nine significant errors” and ruled that it must not be shown in schools unless guidance is provided. This means that teachers will have to advise pupils that there are other opinions on global warming and they should not necessarily accept the views of the film.
Watch: The Great Global Warming Swindle by Martin Durkin and Global Warming and/or Global Governance? by Dr Michael Coffman to see some truth on the topic. - CryRightardCry, on 06/27/2008, -9/+5A great example of a right wing ***** who pretends he doesn't know the term is Climate Change.
Yep, just another dishonest right wing coward spreading lies rather than enlisting and fighting the fight they claim is neccessary.
And what site does this dumbass link to? Stop the ACLU.
Yeah, we all hate our civil liberties.
Well, you ***** hate them because they fight for brown people too.
Oh scamerica, what an embarrassing little turd you are.
This shows why rightards fail. This moron doesn't know ANYTHING about climate change.
I know, I know. Weather is complicated. I'm not surprised you can't understand that. - industryfinest, on 06/27/2008, -3/+7I need to talk to Al Gore about this!
- Fangsinmybeard, on 06/27/2008, -0/+4It has been 30 years since the last snow was in June!
- yellowcakewalk, on 06/27/2008, -2/+2What does NASA say about it?
http://data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/2007
The year 2007 tied for second warmest in the period of instrumental data, behind the record warmth of 2005, in the Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) analysis. 2007 tied 1998, which had leapt a remarkable 0.2°C above the prior record with the help of the "El Niño of the century". The unusual warmth in 2007 is noteworthy because it occurs at a time when solar irradiance is at a minimum and the equatorial Pacific Ocean is in the cool phase of its natural El Niño-La Niña cycle.
Figure 1 shows 2007 temperature anomalies relative to the 1951-1980 base period mean. The global mean temperature anomaly, 0.57°C (about 1°F) warmer than the 1951-1980 mean, continues the strong warming trend of the past thirty years that has been confidently attributed to the effect of increasing human-made greenhouse gases (GHGs) (Hansen et al. 2007). The eight warmest years in the GISS record have all occurred since 1998, and the 14 warmest years in the record have all occurred since 1990.- DreadPirate, on 06/28/2008, -0/+1Funny how you support NASA when they say something you agree with, and yet you bitch about the money they spend the rest of the time. Hypocritical prick.
