- blackolive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+38They're still not as weird as bonobo chimps:
"[Sexual intercourse] is used as a greeting, a means of conflict resolution and post-conflict reconciliation, and as favors traded by the females in exchange for food."
"Bonobos are the only non-human apes to have been observed engaging in all of the following sexual activities: [missionary position,] tongue kissing, and oral sex."

http://bili-ape-photos.blogspot.com/ - reflex768, on 10/11/2007, -3/+26Incredible, folklore no more. That's story's an adventure. Any tale that begins "Deep in the Congolese jungle..." can't fail to entertain.
- lunarvision, on 10/11/2007, -0/+16Let me be picky for a second - why in 2007 do people post fascinating/ground-breaking stories like this on the internet, tell you that they have pictures or video to back up their amazing story, then not include them?!
Not only is it frustrating to the viewer, but it also lessens the impact and credibility of the story.
Sorry. :) - hfactor, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14I think it´s weirder that we haven´t developed a society like that :)
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+16They just eat and have sex? What a life!
- tehpwnrate, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10Bonobos are also nonviolent, despite being intelligent and nearly identical to regular chimps that murder for fun.
- nerditup, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10its only a matter of time before we find out that it was Earth all along

- JrGhoull, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4this reminds me of an article that was on digg a few weeks back about a mythical beast that lived in the amazon. the difference being was that their "mythical beast" was actually a real beast that had lived thousands of years ago (or was it a thousand? i cant remember..)

- skyfyre, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5"In scientific literature, the female-female sex is often referred to as GG rubbing or genital-genital rubbing, while male-male sex is sometimes referred to as penis fencing."
Penis fencing! Funniest-sounding gay activity ever. - whatthehoof, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6If there were such a thing as reincarnation, I would kill myself today and come back as a bonobo.
