Imagine following a guy in a 2 lane highway that constantly accelerates, then slows to a crawl, then accelerates again to below the posted speed limit..rinse and repeat. I think I'd be popping a blood vessel if I didn't have the opportunity to pass him.

No *****. The standard Civic 15 years ago got like 65mpg. The reason was it had a 1 star crash rating, something that NO auto manufacturer would settle for today. Airbags, solid steel frames, crumple zones; all these things are heavy, and the heavier a vehicle is, the more fuel you need to move it. We've sacrificed economy for safety. That garbage he put on his car didn't perform most of the work, Honda did... 15 years ago. - issfab, on 02/08/2008, -2/+8and he lives in a van down by the river.
