- Obsession88, on 03/30/2009, -1/+34And how are cows going to catch fish?
- Wreckage, on 03/30/2009, -3/+22The oil simply acts as a silencer....which is more dangerous if you ask me
- jaymzdean, on 03/30/2009, -3/+20Cool, high-mercury beef.
- pumanegra2012, on 03/30/2009, -1/+16Aren't cattle vegetarian?
- Velnich, on 03/30/2009, -1/+11... and it's a well known fact that vegetarians don't fart.
- indoracer, on 03/30/2009, -2/+11You would have smarter cows too.
- jasdf, on 03/30/2009, -0/+9I think you mean "cows' farts". I'm sorry, but this is digg, we have to maintain a certain level of grammar to maintain our image.
- michaelpinto, on 03/30/2009, -1/+9News flash: If you consume fish oil you're not a vegetarian.
- doubad, on 03/30/2009, -1/+9Actually the cow burps do more than the cow farts.
- kodekitten, on 03/30/2009, -0/+6I'm annoyed that humans seek to solve a human-induced problem by forcing another creature to modify its biological function. I understand how much methane is produced by bovines, but I'm not sure they should be the ones to change.
- HoldenH, on 03/30/2009, -3/+9Ha ha cow farts. :D
- Dinsdale77, on 03/30/2009, -1/+7A vast system of boats and nets
- sangjmoon, on 03/30/2009, -1/+6The most potent greenhouse gas is water vapor. What are we going to do about that?
- rabidrabit, on 03/30/2009, -1/+6Dunno, sounds like a lot of hot air to me.
- nostraboris, on 03/30/2009, -0/+5BS.
I take an EFA capsule every day I fart like crazy! - one1plus1one, on 03/30/2009, -0/+5Producers of omega-3 supplements usually filter the oil to remove mercury, so supposedly fish-oil supplements are the safest way to get your omega-3's without worrying about mercury. So they say.
- getoffmybridge, on 05/05/2009, -0/+4Quality fish oil supplements are safe.
- leland1, on 03/30/2009, -0/+4Yes, a cow in scuba gear:
http://tinyurl.com/cucutd - kevine, on 03/30/2009, -0/+4They're safe because they use lower-food-chain fish such as anchovies. Mercury accumulates in fish and gets passed along up the food chain so fish such as tuna tend to be the problem fish.
Anchovies are netted up, sliced for Ceasar salads and pizzas, and the remains are pressed for the oil. - lear, on 03/30/2009, -3/+7all the cow's farts do more damage than all the cars emissions combined.
- magus_melchior, on 03/30/2009, -0/+4Uhhh... Isn't the methane coming from fermenting starches? As in, all the corn we shove down the throats of cattle which they can't largely digest anyway because their digestive systems aren't designed for corn?
I don't think this is fish oil, this smacks of snake oil. - winstonc, on 03/30/2009, -0/+4Grass-fed beef has higher levels of omega-3 than grain-fed beef, becuse . So maybe if they let cows eat their natural diet (grass, instead of corn), they would make less methane.
- kelpee, on 03/30/2009, -0/+4SBD cow farts have got to be really bad.
- hawk0168, on 03/30/2009, -1/+5Cows farts don't do much. It's the bacteria in the rumen (stomach) which ferment sugars into methane and other greenhouse gasses. News stories that cite cow flatulence are just plain wrong and aren't doing their job.
Also 3 cows?? Come back when your data is at least SOMEWHAT statistically significant. - inactive, on 03/30/2009, -0/+3Some places harness cow methane for energy.
- slapthemonkey, on 03/30/2009, -0/+3i don't believe this
- Wreckage, on 03/30/2009, -1/+4Fly fishing?
- inactive, on 03/30/2009, -0/+3This is just stupid.
- Gyokusai, on 03/30/2009, -0/+3Are fish really so important? Say, lets fish out the oceans in order to save the beef... (sarcasm)
- CaptainPlanet, on 03/30/2009, -0/+3this is a horrible idea. to much fish is already being used to feed chickens and other live stocks. increased fish consumption is not the answer for increased beef consumption.
- mrsharpoblunto, on 03/30/2009, -0/+3If you Are a vegetarian who eats fish, or fish products, you're actually a Pescetarian.
- leonidas333, on 03/30/2009, -0/+3I dont think the same would work with humans because I eat allot of fish oil but that doesn't do anything for my flatulence. the worse thing is when you have gas and burp after eating fish oil, it taste like you drank a fish milkshake
- Iwantawii, on 03/30/2009, -0/+2Dugg for SBD.
- inactive, on 03/30/2009, -0/+2Until the room dies from a sulpher gas poisoning..
- leland1, on 03/30/2009, -0/+2Just what we need... Cow burps and farts that smell like fishy manure instead of just regular cow farts.
- AndrewIsAwesome, on 03/30/2009, -0/+2I see what you did there.
- equitium, on 03/30/2009, -0/+2Really? I can hardly take fish oil because it makes me gassy and acts like a laxative. Not the mention the god awful fish belching.. (Yeah I have tried different brands..) A nurse recommended it for my low good cholesterol.
- inactive, on 03/30/2009, -2/+4Do any of these brilliant idiots stop and consider maybe the earth NEEDs cow farts? After all, cows have been farting for "billions of years" now and the climate didn't fall apart. This whole flatulence thing is only an excuse for new taxes. Wake up.
Buried. - Sil369, on 03/30/2009, -0/+2so even if we all start using environment friendly cars, the cows will still be killing the earth.
- one1plus1one, on 03/30/2009, -0/+2With the appropriate scuba-gear.
- TheMachine1, on 03/30/2009, -0/+2Also the flammable gas from "farts" is usually hydrogen not methane in animals .
- Charlotte_Web, on 03/30/2009, -0/+2Do they make Subtle Butt in cow sizes?
http://www.subtlebutt.com/ - o0brae0o, on 03/30/2009, -1/+2hmm.. kinda reminds me of how mad cow disease started.. well similar anyway.
- Hellman109, on 03/30/2009, -0/+12% fish oil is ALLOT.
Then take into account the amount of greenhouse gases it takes to produce said fish oil and this is just stupid. - gkiltz, on 03/30/2009, -0/+1Or not!
Of all the things that COULD have happened throughout history, how many DID? - randmcnally, on 03/30/2009, -0/+1BS.
I take an EFA capsule every day I fart like crazy!
haha me too and I take 2. I have to say though that if you take an anti inflammatory and it rots your stomach, like it does mine, you should seriously switch to Fish Oils. they work just as well and the only side effect is fish burps. - TigerStar337, on 03/30/2009, -0/+1Perhaps it was dinosaur farts that caused their extinction. The high fiber diet produces much gas. I would imagine a Bruhathkayosaurus would have a nasty fart.
- DanThe1Man, on 03/30/2009, -0/+1Cattlemen save money by feeding cattle spines back to the cattle. I heard them call it "recycling" and a "good source of protein." I would feel bad about the cows if they weren't so delicious.
- S1ngular1ty1, on 03/30/2009, -4/+5Are you serious? Who cares about some farting cows. These environmental nuts need to focus their energy better.
- redled, on 03/30/2009, -0/+1It's burps, not farts. Pretty skeptical of this one.
