- Lucas123, on 04/20/2009, -4/+50Carbon dioxide, huh? I figured it was because they produce more methane?
- WraTH017, on 04/20/2009, -11/+47Fat people... Is there anything you won't ruin?
- ksalminen, on 04/20/2009, -1/+30A fruit bowl.
- BlackJackJester, on 04/20/2009, -1/+16jokes.
- immatellyouwhat, on 04/20/2009, -5/+19Ya hear that Al Gore???
- shutaro, on 04/20/2009, -8/+22Less whining, more Bacon.
- amabaie, on 04/20/2009, -9/+22...and more litter and more consumption of resources...etc. Bigger clothes (more material used, more packaging required), more food, more soap (more skin surface to wash).
- VisualRhetoric, on 04/20/2009, -0/+12It's probably just the wind, honey.
It's NOT the wind!! - adremali, on 04/20/2009, -4/+15Next article: Tree Hugger Mob Attacks Obese Family
- DaviDTC, on 04/20/2009, -0/+11Don't poop.
- socialpyramid, on 04/20/2009, -1/+10I wondered how long it would be before bacon raised it's head in this thread.
- inactive, on 04/20/2009, -4/+13Do you see now how the EPA's new rulings can be used to regulate everything you do?
- LargeStack, on 04/20/2009, -8/+16Yes but if we could turn them into fuel we could eliminate the dependancy on foreign oil and reduce health care costs.
2 for 1 - CrankMyBlueSax, on 04/20/2009, -15/+23Skinny people suck. Now STFU and bring me more OM NOM NOM.
- l33tp1e, on 04/20/2009, -5/+12Although rather offensive to some people, I think this article is hilarious.
- Hetman, on 04/20/2009, -4/+11Bad logic. Someone who works out a lot, might be eating a lot more calories than a fat person, but he just works it off. Take into account the extra transportation cost of this food, and the fact he might be breathing harder due to working out, this whole thing just becomes stupid.
- Relikh, on 04/20/2009, -1/+7You don't actually buy into this ***** right? This is just another way to blame a scapegoat for problems everybody has in the developed world. This is just a shift of blame to justify their own over-consumptive lifestyle. Everybody has to cut down just as much as the next fatass. They only require a wee bit more than us, while we already use up 50 times or more than anybody else.
By the way, I'm 5'6'' and 128 lbs. - BlackJackJester, on 04/20/2009, -0/+6HAY GUYS I HAVE A GLANDULAR PROBLEM
- Rain12913, on 04/20/2009, -1/+7But less condoms.
- NorrisOBE, on 04/20/2009, -5/+11Wow these comments suck.
- publiclurker, on 04/20/2009, -0/+5That's not a gland, it's a ham sandwich.
- LargeStack, on 04/20/2009, -1/+6Save the planet!
Eat a fat person. - Lefts, on 04/20/2009, -5/+10Well, they require twice the cow, which means twice the methane farts or something stupid like that.
It's really just a bunch of finger pointing though. It's not getting us anywhere. - nirvanix, on 04/20/2009, -0/+5Al Gore is a CO2 and methane exhausting fat bastard who doesn't practice what he preaches. There I said it, and I feel better!
Oh, and he made $100 million from his documentary. - Rain12913, on 04/20/2009, -0/+4If you really wonder that you're quite disconnected from reality. Do you honestly think the American people, more than 50% of whom are overweight, would let such a tax fly?
- IKORKYI, on 04/20/2009, -0/+4my neighbors are obese and the amount of trash the two of them generate compared to the trash my family of 4 makes is multiple times as great. when 1 person eats 4 people's worth of food, that's 4x as much trash.
QUESTION
these morbidly obese people who can't get out of bed and need walls removed for gastric bypasses....who the hell keeps feeding them...and how do they morally escape the situation? - DaFoxx, on 04/20/2009, -1/+5LOL
- dbzssj44676, on 04/20/2009, -0/+4Divide, conquer.
The New World Order doesn't need fat people in it's army. So demonize them. - matthiasfactor, on 04/20/2009, -0/+4United Airlines just announced that bigger people will have to pay more to fly.
And now "bigger people cause more carbon emissions."
My question is this: by what standards are we being measured? The BMI standards cannot surely apply to all. There are individuals whose body types just would not look RIGHT if they were to gain/lose the weight that is recommended on those sheets.
I for example have very broad shoulders. I am however overweight. I am five foot five and according the city of Houston Police department, I should weigh something like 165-170. I currently weight 220. There is no way I would look normal according to these specs.
Gattaca, anyone? - serif69, on 04/20/2009, -4/+8More people need to fatten up. We have to do something about the current cooling trend!
- inactive, on 04/20/2009, -1/+5Oh my God.
Hetman, I actually agree with you for once. - uberchaoslord, on 04/20/2009, -0/+4Find a way to relate scientific funding to the theory that CO2 causes global cooling, and you'll have a declaration within weeks...
- cam0man, on 04/20/2009, -0/+4remind me how a prius reduces your carbon footprint? they had to use a ***** of energy to build that car....you should have just bought a 1990 civic that already got 40mpg and didn't require them to crush an old car and built an entirely new one.
- MisterMills, on 04/20/2009, -2/+6Next up: "Study: Those who are above average height are each responsible for an extra ton of carbon dioxide pollution."
Recommendation: Women should be 5'5". Men 5'10". Those that do not comply will be cut down. - wakeupsticky, on 04/20/2009, -1/+5I'm guessing your bad at spelling.
- coheedcollapse, on 04/20/2009, -0/+4Two blocks of cheese, some milk, a dozen eggs. Blend until smooth.
- TTARider, on 04/20/2009, -1/+5***** YOU... GIMME MA CHEEZBURGERZ!
- Locupleto, on 04/20/2009, -0/+3Have to disagree. Fat people die younger. Skinny people live longer then travel around in a mobile home, spending retirement years burning up a lot of gas.
- Kronos6948, on 04/20/2009, -0/+3Sole source of deforestation.
- Macintoshreader, on 04/20/2009, -0/+3I see what you did there. For each 50 pounds overweight you are, your penis appears 1 inch smaller.
- Weezergames, on 04/20/2009, -1/+4Good Bye! Wisconsin!
- immatellyouwhat, on 04/20/2009, -0/+3AGREED!
- elsimer, on 04/20/2009, -1/+4I had to explain to my wife that it essentially meant that breathing is now bad for the planet since carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas. oh well
- IKORKYI, on 04/20/2009, -0/+3fat people also raise health care premiums and make it impossible for a tall person to find clothes they don't swim in. i call it the number 3 combo with extra cheese: Health, Clothes, Global Warming.
- plainOldFool, on 04/20/2009, -2/+5Homers Law?
- Jumpeplowski, on 04/20/2009, -0/+3Whenever I see a picture of a fat person in an article about fat people I wonder what it would be like to be that fat person and stumble upon my picture in that article.
- immatellyouwhat, on 04/20/2009, -0/+3Iths ManBearPig!!!
- Rain12913, on 04/20/2009, -1/+4How the hell are you a 400 pound vegetarian? Do you sit around and eat pizza all day?
- LargeStack, on 04/20/2009, -1/+4Fat people!
and lots of it at that. - yerdaddy, on 04/20/2009, -0/+3It doesn't work that way. The only chance you'd have at consuming the calories it takes to support the usual 400 pounder and remain anywhere near slim is to stay under constant high cardiovascular load for several hours a day like a long distance runner or cyclist. I don't think there's that many. You don't see millions of bodybuilders running around displacing the presence of fatties in USA either, and most of them eat less anyhow. The incredible waste of the sports supplements industry, though, might be a good thing to focus upon.
