- jggube, on 09/04/2008, -2/+9There's got to be some type of waste produced... what is it?
- craigob, on 09/04/2008, -0/+3There is nuclear waste, and it's radioactive for years. It's buried deep underground in concrete and steel containers I think (well, actually some of it ends up as ammunition in the form of depleted uranium for the military). Seems to be a better solution than dumping waste into the atmosphere, at least the burying it deep under ground part.
- DeuceDiggalow, on 09/04/2008, -1/+3Nuclear energy has a lot of potential. People just associate negative connotations to anything termed "nuclear" (and I don't blame them with all the weapons and environmental damage of the past). However, I know scientists have started looking at cold fusion again and recent experiments have been successful. I think we will begin to see a lot of progress in this field in the near future... which will hopefully translate into a cleaner earth with cheap energy for everyone.
- michaelpinto, on 09/05/2008, -1/+1Fusion deserves some serious investment but what we have now just generates nuclear waste which needs to be stored someplace. And even shipping the waste to that location can be a danger.
- copet, on 09/05/2008, -0/+1Finally we have harbored the power of volcanoes!
