- a117, on 09/22/2009, -0/+2The last one vexes me. I mean, it looks like an open structure in the Chicago Loop, towering hundreds of feet above the city streets. It just seems like having people standing in such a tall, open, guard rail free tower in a city known for being windy would be a monumentally bad idea.
- cadcam3d, on 09/22/2009, -0/+2I see some green color for show on side of building. But "how green is building these kinds of green buildings"? i.e. how green is the actual building process, materials used, energy & resources consumed to sustain the look of such buildings.
- LiquidIse, on 09/22/2009, -0/+2One of the MAJOR risks that tends to be overlooked with vertical farms is that they remain a concept. And sure they might be great at first glance, but the potential upkeep, maintenance, required equipment, etc simply does not exist to turn these buildings into profitable agriculture venues right now.
It will be a long long time before people with the green are willing to put it towards such a costly green project. - sunburner, on 09/22/2009, -0/+2Dallas really needs something green.
