- DarkSim, on 02/27/2008, -3/+230I was playing CoD4 with my friends from the midlands, they told me it was happening over voice comms and then I felt it a few seconds later, pretty cool!

To the Internet! - mattr12345, on 02/27/2008, -7/+126wait, who the ***** devided by zero?
- gordmoo, on 02/27/2008, -2/+113my bed wobbled, my cat woke up, birds chirped, stuff almost fell off my shelf! its mayhem!
- Ebsy, on 02/27/2008, -22/+132in more news, American's are still fat *****.
- ChocChunkOaties, on 02/27/2008, -0/+103same here, started thinking the game was getting more realistic before realising the whole house was shaking.
- humpy, on 02/27/2008, -11/+105Earthquake noobs. 4.7 is weak sauce.
- ByteGuerilla, on 02/27/2008, -3/+85Manchester UK reporting in, we felt that sucker. EVE-Radio listeners from Hull and Newcastle reported the same. Quite a big one compared to the last tremors we got in the UK. House was shaking like buggery.
- MeatyDoughnut, on 02/27/2008, -2/+69North East coast here, didn't feel anything. Even an earthquake wouldn't want to come to Sunderland...
- m0zzie, on 02/27/2008, -1/+56i'm from Sydney, Australia and received a phone call from my drunk as hell brother - who is living in the UK and just wanted a chat on his drunken stumble home - when about 2 minutes into the call, the earthquake hit.
now that i've realised how small an earthquake it was and he wasn't in danger, i can safely say nothing is funnier than a drunk person ***** flipping out during an earthquake. - excession, on 02/27/2008, -1/+47go go gadget rumble pak!
- thecosmicpope, on 02/27/2008, -4/+49Yeah, and when we have a flood in the UK it's not a problem either, but it turned into a major emergency in the US.
Everything is relative, and any earthquake, even one of this relatively small scale, is news in the UK. - Secret7000, on 02/27/2008, -0/+43ROFL... I love how this has turned into "Our natural disasters are more damaging than YOURS!"
- transfuse, on 02/27/2008, -2/+44This really shat me up...
I live in Lincolnshire, and the epicentre was in Hull (not far from here). I was sat in bed and all of a sudden the whole house shook violently for like 5-10 seconds (and my lava lamp almost fell off my wardrobe). We went outside and were assured by a few other neighbours that it wasn't just us. I'm still in shock; first time I've experienced anything like this. - Pinkertinkle, on 02/27/2008, -6/+474.7 is like a fat lady falling over.
- yoshi8710, on 02/27/2008, -7/+48haha i bet all you conservatives are guna blame this on god..
- inactive, on 02/27/2008, -8/+47Can we start blaming Al-Qaeda now?
- ByteGuerilla, on 02/27/2008, -0/+38The Internet. Proven faster than nature by the 2008 UK quake.
- deezp1, on 02/27/2008, -22/+59Being from California, hearing of a 4.7 quake is really no big deal... Report back when the magnitude is greater than 6.0
- garethDE, on 02/27/2008, -3/+33Since a lot of Americans on here are too stupid to understand the significance themselves, I will actually take the time to inform you that we live nowhere near a fault-line, so a 4.7 is actually 1) rare; 2) a big deal to us.
I know acting like a soldier and claiming that 4.7 is nothing makes you feel like you have a big *****, but our population aren't all fat ***** the size of SUVs and we aren't able to replicate such ground vibrations by simply falling over.
Get over yourselves. - rzito, on 02/27/2008, -1/+29may have only been 4.7 (other reports say 5), but the UK isn't exactly known for its earthquakes!!
- numlok, on 02/27/2008, -2/+29Bah... Here in SF, we call a 4.7 "Tuesday".
- MrTito, on 02/27/2008, -48/+75Breaking: Buildings rattled and shaken in British earthquake.
In other news, British teeth mysteriously straightened. - Commonwealth, on 02/27/2008, -0/+26For some reason the last thing I expected a picture of was the actual epicenter of the earthquake.
- rokinroj, on 02/27/2008, -1/+27In every group there is a retard...today that would be you.
- cffu, on 02/27/2008, -3/+28Being from West Sumatra, hearing of a 6.0 quake is really no big deal... Report back when the magnitude is greater than 8.0
- WallnutBoy, on 02/27/2008, -2/+26Well, y'know, this is actually a big thing for us people in Britian. we're clearly not priviledged or cool enough to actually GET earthquakes like you do in California.. So when one happens, it's kind of big news..
I'm sick of Americans thinking they're so bloody better than the British.
For the record, I'm down on the South-East Coast and didn't feel a thing. But I was speaking to a friend online in Bristol who just randomly said "wtf did your house just shake!?" That was about 1-1:30am. - Maurina, on 02/27/2008, -8/+32Graveler! Use earthquake attack!
- UNDERSTAR, on 02/27/2008, -0/+24Sounds like you just had a earthquake.
- Rekzai, on 02/27/2008, -3/+26WAKE UP SHEEPLE. It was just viral marketing for the new Quake game.

Thought it was some kind of sign telling me to get on with my English coursework and not sleep. - wezman2, on 02/27/2008, -0/+18dugg for having a lava lamp... or buried... i cant decide
- Fafnir43, on 02/27/2008, -1/+19Global warming leads to climate change. Global warming does not lead to tectonic shifts. You ***** idiot.
- Mauly, on 02/27/2008, -0/+18So if you're mum fall over! what, about a 7.3...
- drlha, on 02/27/2008, -0/+17Read like "House was shaking like *****". Or do Americans not use random swear words like we English do?
- boldfire, on 02/27/2008, -2/+19Didn't feel anything here in Kent fortunately.
- m0zzie, on 02/27/2008, -0/+16thread winner.

- WestEast, on 02/27/2008, -2/+16In more Fox news over 90% of Americans are still using sterotypes from the 19th centuary...
- boombye, on 02/27/2008, -0/+14I would file a formal complaint.
- s810, on 02/27/2008, -0/+14I was using the sterotypical chinese accent, so sowwy...
