In the event that they perform well, the environmental impact due to the production of the titanium dioxide may actually end up being less than the net reduction in pollutants with no extra effort required. Additionally, if the nitrates could be harnessed for use in city beautification projects and parks as fertilizer, this could be very beneficial for city streets.
