- inactive, on 02/22/2008, -1/+81Yeah baby, these 24" pythons are going to be colonizing the U.S.A (flexes)
- MiltonWaddams, on 02/22/2008, -1/+67Does the article say anything about how climate change may affect ticket prices to the gun show?
- inactive, on 02/22/2008, -0/+61that's the first time a snakes on a plane reference has actually made me laugh
- CTK14A, on 02/22/2008, -0/+51This is unacceptable. Soon these invading pythons will be taking our jobs and clogging up our health care system... Clearly, it's time to build an enormous fence.
- DonWigler, on 02/22/2008, -1/+51This is just like those killer bees that colonized the whole US in 1992. Oh wait.
- ubernoggin, on 02/22/2008, -2/+51Monty Python?
- xOKxWhy, on 02/22/2008, -1/+46I think C will still be rather popular
- 711Security, on 02/22/2008, -6/+44WTF? Since when did Python overtake Perl?
- DrunkenSavior, on 02/22/2008, -0/+36We're gonna need larger lawn mowers...
- vsujohn2, on 02/22/2008, -1/+27Sweet! I ***** love pythons (as well as coloring)
- 8bit_Hero, on 02/22/2008, -1/+27they won't colonize in the US. they will become extinct when they try. :(
- zeroroth, on 02/22/2008, -3/+29Dugg for the fact that pythons can kill alligators.
- LiquidIse, on 02/22/2008, -2/+23So the spots they could "Maybe" live will expand 50 miles north and this is colonizing the U.S?
Seems like a fairly low standard - crash331, on 02/22/2008, -1/+21Sensational title. Pythons already live in 1/3 of the US. In 100 years, the will march another 50 miles north. WHO CARES, I'll BE DEAD, and 50 miles ain't gonna hurt.
- Bukowsky, on 02/22/2008, -0/+19probably the only time
- inactive, on 02/22/2008, -1/+18From the page: "Python habitat will grow dramatically as the U.S. warms up over the next century, according to a new U.S. Geological Survey and National Parks Service study." Thank heavens I live in Australia... where... oh bugger... where we have more poisonous snakes and spiders than anywhere in the world... Neever mind
- Veni_Vidi_Vici, on 02/22/2008, -0/+17Anyone else see the picture caption?
"An American alligator and a Burmese python locked in a struggle to prevail in Everglades National Park. This python appears to be losing, but snakes in similar situations have apparently escaped unharmed, and in other situations PYTHONS HAVE EATEN ALLIGATORS."
I sense a cracked article. - Nudar, on 02/22/2008, -0/+15We need mongooses (mongeese?), and we need them now.
- Radical5, on 02/22/2008, -0/+15HISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS HISSSSSSSSSSSSS
- DeskFlyer, on 02/22/2008, -2/+16Will we get to build casinos afterwards?
- dailyapplecrisp, on 02/22/2008, -7/+20obligatory: I for one, welcome our Python overlords.
- letsnotlisten, on 02/22/2008, -1/+12Does anyone know where the closest animal hospital is?
*flexes*
'Cause these pythons are siiiick! - FatLoser, on 02/22/2008, -3/+14No you didn't.
- MrColdheart, on 02/22/2008, -2/+12dammit i was just thinking that
dugg and added - BedPost, on 02/22/2008, -0/+10Mongeese sounds way more badass. I'd say go with that.
- CWal37, on 02/22/2008, -0/+9The area on the second map doesn't really seem that much larger. I'm kind of disappointed.
- Shambla, on 02/22/2008, -0/+9Anyone speak python here?
- inactive, on 02/22/2008, -0/+9And I'm not particularly worried about either at present...
- inactive, on 02/22/2008, -1/+10Sensationalism. Works for Hillary
- serif69, on 02/22/2008, -1/+9Oh beautiful for snake-filled skies
For snake-filled waves of grain
For snake-filled mountains majesty
Above the snake-filled plains - roho76, on 02/22/2008, -3/+11If you want to change the Python population you need change.
If you hire Obama he will get rid of the snakes with "CHANGE".
If you hire Hillary she will yell at the snake and give it low self confidence or cry on it.
If you hire McCain he will go to war with it then sleep with it then leave it after it has his children all the while he will petition congress to close the files on snakes.
It seems our best bet would be to let Hucklebarries boy loose. He'll catch the thing and kill it and bathe in the blood of the serpent. - bscene, on 02/22/2008, -0/+8"and now for something completely different"
- DinosWillDie13, on 02/22/2008, -2/+10Anyone remember the picture of that python who tried to eat an alligator and just popped?
EPIC FAIL!!!!!
correct me if you will, it might not have been a python and it may have been a crocodile. I don't remember. - karmaghost, on 02/22/2008, -0/+7But what about pythons that are already here? I don't want to give them amnesty!
- ncdave101, on 02/22/2008, -1/+8bash: /USR/BIN/PTHYON: No such file or directory
Check your caps lock, dude! - Emnsta, on 02/22/2008, -1/+8day took or jeeabs!
- zephyear, on 02/22/2008, -0/+7living in the midwest finally has its advantages.
- karmaghost, on 02/22/2008, -0/+6Hahaha, you are so right. I looked after reading your comment and it just looks like the "maybe" area has increased. "Sir, what were the findings of your study?" "Maybe."
- brokebackbyusa, on 02/22/2008, -2/+8Sustainable climate in ARIZONA? Last time I checked pythons liked water. BS
- indigit4l, on 02/22/2008, -2/+8Yeah I'll believe this bs when it happens. ***** load of *****
- evan119, on 02/22/2008, -1/+7not that i don't see climate change as a threat or anything, but that line only moved north like 50 miles in 100 years....
- FatLoser, on 02/22/2008, -2/+8I love ***** pythons too! I thought I was the only one... hey, we should get together some time. I know this guy from Decatur who breeds and raises pythons based on the size of their.... hey, you didn't say what I thought you said.
- joot2112, on 02/22/2008, -0/+6and the sharks and box jellies...
- rnwen2750, on 02/22/2008, -0/+6Is it true that if you stick to the coast, you are pretty safe as far as snakes and spiders go? Of course, then you've gotta look out for the blue-ringed octopus, but...
- john2kx, on 02/22/2008, -0/+6I am TIRED of these ***** snakes colonizing my ***** country!
- antechinus, on 02/22/2008, -0/+5Not true at all. The coastal strip and hinterland mountain ranges is home to the world's deadliest spider (the Funnelweb - http://www.qm.qld.gov.au/features/spiders/spiders/ ... ). Some of the world's nastiest snakes the Eastern Brown, the Taipan and the Death Adder _love_ the coastal plains.
I live on the coast (can hear the surf right now) and I love to walk in the coastal heath, however it is always with a sharp eye on the lookout for Death Adders and Eastern Browns. In the cooler months of the year it is no problem since the snakes are less active. - letitbleed62, on 02/22/2008, -0/+5They will fail to keep their colonies in line just like the British before them.
- icexe, on 02/22/2008, -0/+5Of all the possible catastrophic effects Global Warning will bring, a python invasion just doesn't rank that high on the worry meter for me..
- kushin, on 02/22/2008, -0/+5Can I use my Wing IDE professional with them?
