- RogerStrong, on 10/25/2007, -2/+54Before I click on the link, could someone please confirm that the headline isn't about Paris Hilton?
- gllopc, on 10/30/2007, -0/+31In what was are these photos terrible? They look great!
- doktorrocket, on 10/24/2007, -0/+22Photos are definitely NOT Paris Hilton's catacombs. These have a lot less bones inside them.
- noots, on 10/24/2007, -0/+14all i think about is Deus Ex when i hear catacombs mentioned :/
- dgath, on 10/24/2007, -0/+14I'm struggling on whether to thumbs that up (for the millisecond that I chuckled) or down (for the unbelievably cheesy joke).
- qualish, on 10/24/2007, -3/+17Dugg for wanting to piss off Ron Paul fans.
- DanJohnHarris, on 10/24/2007, -0/+14No.
- FreakyD, on 10/24/2007, -4/+17and pissing off Ron Paul fans.
- inactive, on 10/23/2007, -0/+11Beautiful! I saw some thing like this in a monastery in Romania.
- Rikushix, on 10/24/2007, -1/+12You really don't want to see Paris' catacombs.
- techsmack, on 10/23/2007, -0/+10Its pretty cool, walking through it is kinda gross feeling, and it is really dark. It is an intriguing place.
- Carsonauto, on 10/24/2007, -1/+11Thank you for these awful pictures.
- Soofi, on 10/25/2007, -2/+11Imagine tripping on LSD and finding yourself stuck in that place.
- gllopc, on 10/24/2007, -0/+9I've seen the photos, and really it's still inconclusive.
- MacEnvy, on 10/24/2007, -2/+10It's down for me, Coral caught the pics if you missed it:
http://awcpictures.com.nyud.net:8080/2007/10/dead- ... - Jeffmr1, on 10/24/2007, -1/+9I went down there...very creepy. I was a foolish kid just out of High School and thought it'd be great to pick up a skull and take a picture with it...I wouldn't doubt if something very bad is going to happen to me one day.
- N00F, on 10/23/2007, -1/+9It's chilling to think that every one of us is going to end up like this, one day.
- KrayzieKyd, on 10/23/2007, -0/+7The catacombs of Paris are XVIII centuries? You mean "...centuries old"?
Also, you do not use Roman numerals when saying how old something is. Leave that to movies. - pcp777, on 10/24/2007, -2/+9Don King's hair is so crazy, they aught to give that catacomb!
- ahhell, on 10/23/2007, -1/+7??????????
- doctechnical, on 10/24/2007, -0/+6Who hasn't?
- gllopc, on 10/23/2007, -0/+6It looks more like Nichole Ritchie. Well, before the pregnancy.
- FreakyD, on 10/24/2007, -6/+12I'm all about the cheesy jokes
- onedigg, on 10/24/2007, -1/+6Dugg up for a reference to the greatest game of all time
- pcpimpster, on 10/24/2007, -0/+5Even the dead get inside Paris, I'm feeling kind of left out.
- canuq, on 10/23/2007, -2/+7Mirror: http://mirror.canuq.com/3887459/2007/10/dead-catac ...
- stustyle, on 10/23/2007, -0/+5The Parisian catacombs are pretty cool. I have been to them twice. It can be kind of creepy because it's not uncommon to not see anyone else why you are down there and it is kind of poorly lit. You are not supposed to take pictures down there, but it looks like this guy did.
- cababika799, on 10/24/2007, -3/+8This is the only reason why I even bother with reading the comments.
- Rikushix, on 10/24/2007, -0/+4That maybe be the first time that a story has made it to the front page with the word "terrible" in the title. I was expecting "AMAZING" or at the very least "PICS"
- LastVisibleDog, on 10/23/2007, -2/+6Alive catacombs sound even more terrible (awkward wording alert)
- saifatlast, on 10/24/2007, -0/+4Bright light can sometimes damage old fragile stuff (I'm thinking of paintings, specifically). I don't know how this applies to bones exactly, but there are also various placards and 18th century graffiti, according to Wikipedia, that you wouldn't want to get messed up.
Also, zombies. - Sblader5, on 10/24/2007, -0/+4i've actually been there pretty cool. but the catacombs aren't dead, just the people inside.
- neodorian, on 10/24/2007, -0/+4Do you seriously think some ghost is going to come get you because you took a photo with an old skull?
- FreakyD, on 10/24/2007, -0/+4Genius*
Bad word to not spell correctly - doctechnical, on 10/23/2007, -1/+4Lindsey Lohan eat your heart out!
- coit, on 10/24/2007, -2/+5That place needs a few more skulls.
- mashw, on 10/23/2007, -0/+3Jesus even IF you guys hadn't seen Family Guy before the joke stands on its own, get a sense of humor.
- procopio, on 10/23/2007, -0/+3No dogs allowed!
- SirZRX, on 10/23/2007, -0/+3creepy
- Navicerts, on 10/24/2007, -0/+3Disturbs the bones.
- scm21st, on 10/23/2007, -0/+3I second that! "A corpse, yes; you feel something. I must know what you are feeling."
- PatoLucas, on 10/23/2007, -0/+3Actually just a lot of dead frech, most of the bones are from XVII and XVIII centuries
- Dorkside, on 10/24/2007, -0/+2http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catacombs_of_Paris
- Alphab, on 10/23/2007, -0/+2The bones have been taken from various cieeteries around the city around 1786
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catacombs_of_Paris - PatoLucas, on 10/23/2007, -0/+2He meant that they're from XVIII century, at least most of them
- saifatlast, on 10/23/2007, -0/+2Well how decayed does a body have to be to not become a zombie? Usually the ones you see are still fleshy, so I'm assuming the bones wouldn't come to life.
I'm not the biggest zombie expert, but I think zombies are only the recently dead. - CoreBurn, on 10/23/2007, -0/+2Your links don't work...
- faz9, on 10/24/2007, -0/+2There was even a cinema found down there a few years back
http://www.guardian.co.uk/international/story/0,,1 ... - signal15, on 10/23/2007, -0/+2How did this dude get in my basement to take photos?? I don't know where they came from though.... no clue.
