Climate Change Creates New Species
eurekalert.org — Climate changes during the last ice age affected where Amazonian species, such as leafcutter ants, were able to live, restricting some to isolated "refugia" that could cause them to evolve into new species.

Oh and on another note, how come those creationists are christian, yet they believe that the first few lines of the first chapter of the first book of the first testament yet they don't follow anything else written in there? I mean shouldn't they follow everything all the way through both testaments?- crxvfr, on 07/23/2008, -4/+3You assume you know everything about all Christians? Saying that they don't follow anything else in the Bible is a ludicrous statement because If they didn't follow the rest of the Bible, people like you would not be offended by them.
As far as creating a new species, if you read the article, it's speculative. I'll believe it when I see it. After you click thru, the title of the article is actually "Study suggests past climate changes may have promoted the formation of new species in the Amazon". Notice the 'may have'? This is something that was supposed to have happened in the past, not the future. Since it happened in the past, they already have the information to make an educated guess, but regardless of that, they still can't provide absolute proof.

Yet you have trouble believing in a god.

Fool! Creationists do not say that ALL evolutionary processes are bullcrap. Anyone can see that DNA mutation, variation among species, and limited speciation occurs.
Dugg down for assuming more than your knowledge can handle.
"Oh and on another note, how come those creationists are christian,"
Many creationists are of faiths other than Christianity. Buried again for having a mouth bigger than a brain.
"yet they believe that the first few lines of the first chapter of the first book of the first testament yet they don't follow anything else written in there?"
There is no "first testament" per se. If you're talking about the "old testament", then one has to ask WTF are you talking about in the rest of your question?
"I mean shouldn't they follow everything all the way through both testaments?"
Yes. But, perhaps you have assumed that the special commands God gave to the Jewish people apply also to gentiles (non-Jews).
In the Old Testament, God sent people to gentile cities to tell them about moral laws concerning murder, theft, lies, and kindness. He didn't seem to ever send any people to teach gentiles about the Jewish food, civil, social, and sacrificial laws and systems...because such things were reserved for the Jewish people only.
If you meant hypocrisy, then sure. Everyone is a hypocrite now and then. Some people are all the time. Some people, however, really try to walk the walk.
Before you whine about others, evaluate yourself. This includes before you comment about Christians on Digg. Thanks.

- salamnder, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1No, I an not picking on christians, jews, hindu or anybody else... except creationists. I am sorry, the world wasn't made in 6 days. The world isn't 6000 years old. And One celled organisms in water created multi-celled organisms in water. These turned into fish. Some of these fish pulled themselves on land and evolved into amphibians that evolved into reptiles .... bla bla bla. I am sorry. Science should trump religion. I have never been given any proof besides scripture. Take a college level bio class before your theology and intolerance.
