- TGothe, on 02/06/2009, -2/+29Dugg for rape seed.
- Hetman, on 02/05/2009, -2/+12I hope they are not facing the same thing America did. Over farming that results in a sitauation like the dust bowel. That is something no country should have to go through.
- shoppingkart, on 02/06/2009, -0/+9Haha, bowel.
- ZestyNinja, on 02/06/2009, -2/+10At least the Olympics were totally awesome!
- Tyrant505, on 02/06/2009, -0/+7Water IS the new oil.
- inactive, on 02/06/2009, -0/+6Wherever you're from could do with one less.
- MAGZine, on 02/06/2009, -2/+8No. Our water is ours.

- fretslide, on 02/06/2009, -0/+6Some of the posters above me are retarded . I don't want to explain myself furthur......
- Medicamusic, on 02/06/2009, -1/+6please, inflation, do not shoot up! havent you seen requiem for a dream?!
- inactive, on 02/06/2009, -1/+6The US can't afford to export their water anymore. Canada and Russia on the other hand...
- frieddonuts, on 02/06/2009, -0/+4FYI the American Southwest is currently facing an 8-year drought, which appears to be the new norm. If the Colorado River's flow and volume of the Sierra Nevada icepack continue to decrease, in a few years there might not be enough water in SoCal to sustain Los Angeles and San Diego.
The world supply of potable water is a global issue. - inactive, on 02/06/2009, -0/+2In the heavily industrialised regions around the coast, yes, but China is really really ***** big - about the size of the U.S. - and most of it is rural and unpolluted.
But yeah, still. - ChromaVita, on 02/06/2009, -0/+2Oh *****. Call Kevin Costner.
- uRmyHartBstopR, on 02/06/2009, -1/+3...... They are a world power. Please don't be ignorant and just brush them aside. It's stupid for anyone to brush aside a Tiger, oh it's just a cat. They got nukes. They got purchasing power if you watched the Olympic. Their GDP output is huge. They got to space and now USA unofficially racing China to the moon. They got their own SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) going on. They got power to push countries around. The only thing they don't have is organization in their government. You can google news about the laser incident when they shot down their satellite in space and created space garbage.
- Chirp08, on 02/06/2009, -0/+2We should sell them some water to pay off our debt.
- ineptsavant, on 02/06/2009, -0/+2I must not be very up on things. This is the first I've heard of it and I live in the northern part of China. I wonder if this will affect my food and water prices much(both tap and drinkable water). I hope it rains soon and doesn't hurt this region further.
- uRmyHartBstopR, on 02/06/2009, -0/+2That's what you get for messing with mother nature. She give you a spanking.
- inactive, on 02/06/2009, -0/+2Yeah, but all your other stuff is China's.
- googleabcd, on 02/06/2009, -1/+2Nowadays 99.9% English websites are accessible in China except some extreme or separatist websites such as FLG (falungong) websites
- maximilen, on 02/06/2009, -1/+2Just not from California... Washington and Oregon, maybe.
- xero69, on 02/08/2009, -0/+1A red alert? In China?! Unpossible!

See "Overpopulation" - WhiteSquall57, on 02/06/2009, -0/+1God damn drought is raping my rape seeds
- joe8pack, on 02/08/2009, -0/+1I think they just peaked early.
China has given the world some fantastic things.
It is interesting to see the difference in eastern and western thought in how each culture used ideas and inventions. China invented paper and gunpowder and made (mostly) fireworks. Westerners made guns and bullets and used paper for money. Then the westerners sold the paper money and weapons back to China. It seems to be a big circle. Who knows what may come? - keltin, on 02/06/2009, -0/+1At least it makes them easier to avoid...
- keltin, on 02/06/2009, -0/+1And I thought we'd be able to steal some of the old Chinese H2O, bring it in via the uninspected containers on the west coast for our Los Angeles brethren. Heck, with all the chipotle we eat, we need that water!!
- handheldchimp, on 02/06/2009, -1/+2If I email them some bottles of water, what guarantees that they will use it on the crops and not keep it to drink?!?!
- inactive, on 02/06/2009, -0/+1Not really.
- inactive, on 02/06/2009, -0/+1Was that supposed to be a funny? The only reason the U.S. hasn't completely arse-overed yet is because China keeps lending you money. Which they can stop doing at any time.
- inactive, on 02/06/2009, -0/+1And where, pray tell, will we get that 58 million?
- jascination, on 02/06/2009, -1/+2WHOOOOSH!
or....troll? Your posts in this thread make you sound like a 13 year old, but in another thread you're talking about Keynesian economics... - aircool, on 02/06/2009, -1/+2Overpopulation: Overpopulation it was discovered by Frances Nikka Gatmen. It refers to a condition where an organism's numbers exceed the carrying capacity of its habitat. In common parlance, the term usually refers to the relationship between the human population and its environment, the earth.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overpopulation - SPARTACVS, on 02/06/2009, -0/+1At a quick glance, and I mean REALLY quick glance, did the title look to anyone else like "China declares democracy"?
- inactive, on 02/06/2009, -0/+1Just borrow it from China. Silly goose.
- pumanegra2012, on 02/08/2009, -0/+1A terrible disaster
- robrohan, on 02/06/2009, -3/+3Not having food or water isn't generally a time for comedy, but I have to say you made be laugh with the "dust bowel" - If that wasn't a joke, I think you mean "dust bowl".
- singhisking101, on 02/05/2009, -2/+2Y, this is a serious problem, a countrly like China has an urgent need to feed their pop, so i guess this sort of thing was inevitable
- superterrorizer, on 02/06/2009, -3/+3Well, considering so much of the water is undrinkable there and polluted, a drought may be a good thing. It may open some eyes up in their general public about their governments mismanagement of their lives and environment.
- epborden, on 02/06/2009, -4/+4I guess all that pollution had nothing to do with it.
- uRmyHartBstopR, on 02/06/2009, -2/+3Err... underestimating China will be a downfall. I think they're pulling The Art of War here.
- madmaxfuture, on 08/02/2009, -0/+0Not just China. Australia, the US Southwest, Peru, Iraq
- RiceLee22, on 02/08/2009, -0/+0I do. My parents do. All my aunts and uncles do.
Whenever I spend time with foreigners though, I notice at least half never clean up their plates. - freakFlag, on 02/06/2009, -0/+0The big lesson learned from the Dust Bowl is now instilled in every farmer through the FFA programs, as children, as well as their mentor (most likely father). That lesson is simple, when you harvest, rotate plots and leave the waste in the ground.
It was popular before the dust bowl to harvest then till the waste under thus nothing was holding the top soil in place and turning a plot too quickly resulted in the "over cultivation" everyone now talks about.
It is costly to leave a plot empty every season but it is a necessary evil in the Midwest. As for the drought, South East Kansas and Oklahoma have been affected by less rain for the past 10 years. Since there is less rain there must be constant watering in summer resulting in healthy crops but in a circular pattern, just in case you were wondering. - stoney, on 02/07/2009, -0/+0Tell 1/2 the country to bend down and dig a small hole. With the 10 billion people they have, I'm sure they'll have flowing water from the border oceans to every region in about 15 minutes.
- inactive, on 02/06/2009, -1/+0Chinese people are wasteful. they never take home bag their unfinished foods from restaurants in an attempt to look good and save face and result in millions of tons of food from restaurant wasted each year.
