  • zeth006, on 07/21/2009, -0/+7The funny part is that our pollution levels aren't any higher than they already are because we (and other countries with companies outsourcing) export our air-polluting factory jobs to China and buy stuff made in those factories. If the super-protectionists had their way, we'd have both jobs AND pollution levels remaining here in America.

    Way to go for reading comprehension fail.

    Another point is that with the control that our corporations have over the government in the form of lobbying, I *highly* doubt we'd have stricter emissions controls than we have today. An overidealistic assessment. Plus don't forget. America isn't the only country exporting its manufacturing sector to China.

Add the worst smog in the world to the world's largest population, over 1.2 billion, and do you know what kind of health epidemic that will cause and its pull on China's financial/health resources? And then if the Chinese could file civil law suits, that will never happen, but what if?
