- Spamcan, on 10/19/2007, -6/+47It's only $26,900? I don't care if everyone else on the road thinks it's silly, thats a bad ass design and I'm buying one. It looks like it's from the 2070's.
- inactive, on 10/19/2007, -2/+35I wish more car manufactures were being this aggressive with their designs in efficiency, functionality and ergonomics.
- audiobee, on 10/31/2007, -4/+34Buried because it can't fly. If it's from the future, why can't it fly? Where's my f-in flyin' car?
- Divals, on 10/19/2007, -2/+23I'd have no problem being seen in it. It's certainly cooler than my '91 Dodge Spirit...
- theinept, on 10/31/2007, -6/+24Correction: It looks like it's from the 1970s.
- Gir53457, on 10/10/2007, -3/+19They're called Bicycles.
- 5antaCruzK1D, on 10/10/2007, -11/+26It seems good in concept, but I just can't imagine too many people wanting to be seen in that spacecraft. Think of rolling up to work and your colleagues seeing you in that thing. Thumbs up for the environment, thumbs down for the apple/2001 a space odyssey design.
- loganhuddleston, on 10/11/2007, -8/+20which part is cool?
- ferrell, on 10/19/2007, -9/+21Oh dear gawd! I can't be seen in an ultra-efficient, environmentally friendly vehicle! The boys in marketing might give me a wedgie!
What are you? 12? - mrblue182, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12has anyone else but me noticed that the EXACT same story was on the front page not 10 mins ago???
- zweben, on 10/10/2007, -4/+14I'm usually not too impressed by gas/electric hybrids, but this one is pretty damn cool looking as far as i'm concerned.
If they can get decent acceleration out of it, I could see myself driving something like that some day. - Fatsmurf, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11It has wheels, why can't it hover?
- Nodaki, on 10/31/2007, -1/+10Looks about as safe as a motorcycle without the manueverablity.
Dugg for cool plastic coffin. - jonshipman, on 10/19/2007, -1/+10Correction: It looks like it's from the 1970s concept of the 2070s
- Snarfy, on 10/19/2007, -0/+8230 mpg is cool.
- perkonis, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8That's what makes it the car of ten minutes into the future.
- kaijunexus, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12SPERMOBILE!
- faizal5k, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9I wonder how you park that thing. the wheels make the width wider than most cars
- Arcotik, on 10/10/2007, -4/+11IMHO that has to be the ugliest car I've ever seen.
- loqqq, on 10/31/2007, -4/+11And in a collision, it nicely crumples itself and occupants into the size of a soda can.
- jeo77, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Right, the thing is, theres about 3 smart cars in the town I live in, and these things get tipped like cows when ever they're left alone, because they look so wierd
- Urusai, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8So get one, you crybaby.
- sallos, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Pretty cool though I'm sure it would do horrible in a crash test.
- tuxidomasx, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6lol at the gas pedal that looks sorta like a nintendo controller
- patch6, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6The appearance is off-putting. It should have an alternate, less conspicuous model, even if it is less efficient.
Nice price tag, though. - fatbobsmith, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6You're right that using electrics moves the source of pollution to a centralized location (the coal powerplant), rather than each vehicle being it's own independent source of carbon emissions. This is good, because it's easier to put pollution controls on a single large polluter than on a million tiny, independent ones.
- merrickx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6It looks like a Noobian starfighter.
- patch6, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6How do you know it isn't structurally sound?
- Nerys, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Holy crap I want that so bad !!! GOD who can I knock off for $26 grand :-)
I do have several concerns. The website is completely devoid of ANY information for the most part. No faq no contact information no REAL specifications no warranty information. Has anyone actually been stupid enough to hand over $500 for exactly nothing ? thats what the site it. Nothing. some pretty annoying slow tedious flash with NO meat.
I have many questions and NO means to ask them.
Battery Chemistry? Extra Chargers? (looks like its built in if so thats good) does it have a redundant charging circuit if its built in?)
Can I get BOTH in ONE ? ie 120mile range electric with hybrid gasoline for only if I go more than my batteries can take me? I have ZERO interest in hybrids but I am intrigued by an EV with Gas engine as backup only ie never turn on till I used up the 120mile range battery pack.
As for looks. that thing is simply ***** hot. I want one. but that site needs to be updated big time. - T8erT0T, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4This thing looks flimsy as all hell. I wouldn't want to be in this thing in the snow or rain. And it's just begging to be flipped over by drunken teenagers.
- pagit, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I want a car from the future yesterday
- Nerfdude, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4there's no way that thing is remotely safe. i look forward to the crash test ratings.
- outlaw1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Buried. Apparently people from the future have no taste.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+40.5 = Toddler, midget or amputee.
- colto, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3This thing is pretty loud. It sound like an electric scooter on steroids too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZU7r5tDxO3U
- genezorz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3If im spending most of my check for the year I want something that looks cool too.
The concept is great, but they wont run well for a few good years. Plus having no back seat and a tiny trunk is impractical for most people. I'm not overly thrilled by the 120 mile distance either. That basically means I wont be able to drive to the airport and back should I need to pick up someone. The hybrid might be a better option, but diesel isnt readily available in town either. That could be another problem.
Not to be overly negative. I like the concept it's just to impractical for me to use. Im sure alot of rich people will be eager to try it out as a second car though. - benroy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3i was just thinking that. in a rear end collision it looks like it would topple over forward. like a half-somersault.
- MadOtaku, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3OH NO IT R NOT BIG!!!!1 I R DIE IF I CRSH!!! ONLY BIG CAR R SAFE!!!
- csrajuse, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Do u need a motorcycle license to drive it ? last time I heard any 3 wheeled vehicles are considered motorcycles and need a motorcycle license.
- UbIwerks, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4...it's also a great idea that they placed '+' on the gas pedal and '-' on the brake. Now they just need a "Look through here" on the windshield. ;)
- Nerfdude, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2some people like aesthetic. i don't know if you've ever heard of a company called Apple? they're kind of a big deal. i don't own one, but people do.
this car looks like *****, and can't be safe. - MacBigotDotCom, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I'd rather deal with an American coal mine (which, of course, could be improved) than continue our dependence on the Arabs.
Pick your poison. Or stop driving. Your choice. - Stevethegreat, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2No you got it backwards. Plug-in hybrids ARE the future, while this design is the past (the 70s more specifically). Coal turned to electricity in a coal plant is hundreds of times more efficient and (as a result) more eco friendly than turning gas to electricity locally.
- Aliarse, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5I'll walk..
- BroncoKid, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2How can a car seat 2.5?
- esquimaux, on 10/10/2007, -4/+6oil companies are watching
- NOFXY, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3They're called airplanes :)
- gbro, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Why did you assume a question was a complaint?
- JEWestbrookJR, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3If I didn't have a wife and 2 kids, I would get it. Except I'm kinda nervous about the tiny rear window, and the fact that three wheels considers it a motorcycle so it doesn't have to meet any car safety standards. I wouldn't dare use it on the highway.
- genezorz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Thats why i said the hybrid model might be a better option except that diesel isnt easily found in suburban areas. But it's cool that you made an ass of yourself.
