- Bukowsky, on 03/27/2008, -2/+14This is pretty cool.. there are some pretty unique shots that a human NEVER would've got.
- ladn3k, on 03/27/2008, -3/+8Except for Ace Ventura, of course.
- blackbeardtron, on 03/27/2008, -0/+2Hungry, fella? There ya go.
- ladn3k, on 03/27/2008, -3/+8Except for Ace Ventura, of course.
- Soave, on 03/27/2008, -2/+20That's pretty cool. I wonder why all the animals were so interested in the camera. And I'm surprised the animals got that close to an elephant.
- RedHairedMan, on 03/27/2008, -0/+6The animals know elephants, they know they're no threat unless you screw around with them. It's like the friendly fat guy down the street walking up to you with a hat on. You're not going to think anything of it.
- Ortheos, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1Until he steps on you.

- mal1964, on 03/27/2008, -7/+2The Pics are great, and i bet they can remember every shot.
- Diana172, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1What?
- PromaneX, on 03/27/2008, -2/+5Amazing how all the animals seemed really interested in what that elephant was carrying!
- girlpirate, on 03/27/2008, -0/+3FYI: some of the cameras were stationary.
- Ortheos, on 03/27/2008, -0/+2It's called curiosity, it's not unique to humans.

- davidwasman, on 03/27/2008, -1/+5Wait. the Daily Mail with something...educational? Non-sensational? Am I in topsy turvy world?
- dsmx, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1Yeah where's the story about this camera causing diana to die or the camera letting immigrants in?
- benroy, on 03/27/2008, -8/+7An Elephant with a Camera on its trunk?
That's Nothing. I've got a Rhino with a freak'n *laser* on its horn. - Saoo, on 03/27/2008, -5/+0*****' Awesome
- LittleGerms, on 03/27/2008, -2/+7Heh heh wow that camera seems rather HUGE!
I wonder is the elephant was irritated by it- Ecanem, on 03/27/2008, -2/+10I was Just about to say!
That camera is massive, no wonder all the animals were coming up to it. All probably thinking "WTF is that on your tusk Mr elephant?"
Somehow I feel some bored animal rights group could insist this is animal cruelty. But still if animals get that close in the wild even if they don't have something hugely irregular with their appearance then it is very cool and a interesting insight!

- BrandonSh, on 03/27/2008, -3/+11Here's a video http://www.doubleviking.com/videos/page0.html/8554 ...

- louiebaur, on 03/27/2008, -1/+1Dugg for the trunk cam that is a new one
- czeman, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1Yeah, but where's the justin.tv feed?
- monsieurgrand02, on 03/27/2008, -0/+13Cool concept, but I don't get why an elephant would carry a giant trunk like that around the reserve.
- AuldNic, on 03/27/2008, -0/+10this is a bbc project and nothing to do with the daily mail
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/7312511. ...- mynameiscal, on 03/27/2008, -0/+5I'm beginning to think the Daily Mail sponsors Digg....
- bossm4n, on 03/27/2008, -3/+2A member of the elephant community was quoted as saying, "We are deeply saddened by this blatant invasion of our privacy. What has the jungle world come to? We have contacted the ACLU (African Civil Liberties Union) and expect legal action."
- huckabee, on 03/27/2008, -1/+2This was in India, which is pretty far from Africa. Did all the funny pictures distract you from reading?
- Arisian, on 03/27/2008, -0/+4the camera looks like a tree trunk attached to the elephant
- DevinOlsen, on 03/27/2008, -0/+3Why was the Camera so ridiculously huge? I feel bad for the Elephant.
- Bridea, on 03/27/2008, -0/+2I feel terrible for that elephant. The camera seems so ungodly large and cumbersome.
- FordSVT1, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1Devin and Bridea, these elephants are used by the humans in the region for work, but allowed to roam. They carry entire logs with their trunks and can push down trees with their trunks, so a 50 pound camera/stump isn't going to phase it a bit. I'm guessing putting small HD cameras directly onto the trunk would result in their being destroyed. The logs are more natural and blend in (they're used normally as stand-alones).
- protodon, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1All of these non-violent face to face encounters just prove that there really is a Secret Animal Club...No Humans Allowed!
- norcalscan, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1I wonder if the animals smell the humans that touched the "spy" cameras. Human scent is probably a very foreign smell to these animals. The tiger's curiosity of that one rock among all in the creek was amazing. I would have never seen it myself and it would have caught me whizzing in the creek probably.
- czeman, on 03/27/2008, -1/+1I didn't need to learn an elephant faps with his trunk this way.
- MrSlumberjack, on 03/27/2008, -1/+1I would flip ***** if I was the elephant with the massive piece of tree hanging off my face.
- SusanXoXo, on 03/29/2008, -0/+0Yea this is just crazy
