CEMENT - The Other Cause Of CO2 Emissions
cs.ntu.edu.au — Cement is the 3rd largest cause of man-made CO2 emissions. The key ingredient (60-70%) in cement is Lime. This is created by heating calcium carbonate in kilns. Calcium carbonate is derived from rocks such as limestone, chalk etc that were created eons ago by the burial of organic materials in ocean sediments.
