- Junkyarddawg, on 10/11/2007, -8/+64How many times have the Bush administration ***** science to further their religious right-wing agenda?
What do you call someone who thinks ideology is more important than reality?
Insane. - schroeder, on 10/11/2007, -1/+29I think if anyone in office or of high governmental standing purposefully misleads American citizens, they should automatically be removed from office and thrown in jail for a substantial number of years without parole (period)
- reeder, on 10/11/2007, -3/+20I think the "blame all politicians" game is just another way to divert blame away from the Bush Administration. Broad speculative notions always seem to leave out the names of the worst offenders. When we do the same for skin color, it's called racism.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+18The headline is so disturbing it's sicking
"...after determining Bush administration appointee altered scientific findings"
That is unbelievable. Once again a dereliction of duty! IMPEACH the CHIMP - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16Insanity! He has fudged environment reports before, changing the language and even the facts. This man is nothing more than a con man covering his tracks. It's no different to a dirty cop falsifying evidence to prove his innocence...
- hambend, on 10/11/2007, -2/+15Nuke DC from space. It's the only way to be sure.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+14Of course its about religious ideology! The rabid religious right-wingers honestly think that the end of days is soon approaching, so they don't give a flying ***** about the environment or anything in it because jesus is gonna come walking through the door and everybody (deserving) will get whisked up to heaven!
In fact they are doing their utmost to encourage this by religiously reading the crap in Revelation and not waiting for god to do it, but doing it themselves to speed up the 2nd coming! - cmiller1, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11I feel that the mere fact that there are any politicians in power right now that aren't using every bit of their power to stop bush shows that not just him, but every politician in america right now, needs to be replaced
- RedStateRetard, on 10/11/2007, -6/+16"The endangered species act is nothing but welfare for animals" ~ Stephen Colbert
- Randinn, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8This isn't about religion, it's just about plain old corruption...
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8those people attack countries with no justification whatsoever. would they stop at animals?
- catfish182, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7For me this is not a surprise.
Hell the title would be better if it said "Bush ***** animals again"
Now thats a title - Bdog2g2, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Nice thought, but the roaches and Cheney will still live.
- pgoetz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Of course it's ultimately about religion, you ignorant dumb ass. Monotheism preaches the myth that there's something special about ***** sapiens; i.e. people. It's just a small leap to "no other species matters".
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -5/+10"It was also the latest evidence that Bush administration officials have routinely manipulated scientific information for political ends." I'll not going to slate Bush and his cronies here as I live across the pond and it's not my place, I'll leave that to you lot that have to put up with him day in day out. My comment is this: When have the environment and politics ever gone hand in hand? When it suits their agenda, "their" being all politicians, our lot included. When votes and money is on the horizon, period.
- bowens44, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Way to miss the point.....
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Things like "Please don't screw things up for future generations! If you start doing that we'll stop you because you're an evil bastard"
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4uhh wrong use of that phrase.
I guess you would be classified as one of those children left behind the Chimp is always talking about? - scabbers, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I see another pardon/commuted sentence on the horizon.
- itanshi, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Different means, same end perhaps. It does us no good to quibble over the small stuff when we all together want to work towards preventing the end.
- norman619, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Nice you can't argue with his facts so you try to say he's not a scientist. Your debate skills are pretty lacking. Try countering him with facts of your own?
- Junkyarddawg, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Agreed. Politicians are humans: all are fallible, some are bad, some are good. Assign blame where blame is due, please. Only the bad ones profit from all politicians being tarred with the same brush.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I know, the whole fact that my tax money is being spent to have scientist forced to alter scientific research so that the findings are in line with a 1st century political ideology is not that big a deal!
- BarneyF, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Preserving species is not about protecting the rights of individual animals.
- xaeon, on 10/11/2007, -4/+7BREAKING NEWS: Politicians deceive voters. Critics angered. Supporters claim facts misconstrued. Apathists refused to comment.
- publiclurker, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5Based on this post, you apparently you think mucking out the monkey cages at a research lab counts as being a scientist. I won't wast my time on your attempt at claiming that since everyone else is corrupt (a false statement by the way), that it's OK for this bunch of crooks. I don't accept this line of reasoning from my children so there is no reason for me to waste my time on it from a supposed man.
A simple check of facts however shows that DDT is allowed for use against malaria mosquitoes One can only wonder what actual use you would like to profit from under the guise of saving lives. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Yeah remember all the reports that were altered by Clinton!
Remember? Remember? - egrumling, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3# White-tailed prairie dog.
Plague carrying vermin. Tear up golf courses. Won't be missed.
# Preble's meadow jumping mouse (two decisions-species status and habitat.)
See above. Freaky mice jumping have no place in god's plan
# Hawaiian picture-wing flies.
When I'm in Hawaii, the last thing I want is to deal with a bunch of flies and other bugs.
# Arroyo toad.
Lots of toads out there.
# Southwestern willow flycatcher
What the hell is that?
# California red-legged frog
Tastes like chicken.
# Canada lynx
That's the Canadians' problem. This is America.
{yea, this is sarcasm, for all you who don't get it} - art42, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Congressman Conyers (House Judiciary Commitee chairman) says he will start the impeachment proceedings with 3 more cosponsors with or without the support of Speaker Pelosi. When you call Reps tell them to co-sponsor H RES 333 AND ask the the Rep to call Conyers to express support for impeachment.
house.gov - find your rep's contact info by zip code.
speaker.gov - Speaker Pelosi represent all of US. - akzidenzgrotesk, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2in pgoetz's defense, that is anne coulter's argument against the endagered species act and environmentalism in general in GODLESS...
- Jamihabs, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2So, was MacDonald manipulating the evidence for the Bush administration or was it to protect her family’s property?
The Contra Costa Times (whatever the hell that is) stated that “Bush administration officials have routinely manipulated scientific information for political ends”. Yet it gave no other examples. This smells like just more Bush bashing. - norman619, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2This is not about Bush. Sorry but the president is not as powerful as you people seem to think he is. I would have thought what happened to JFK would have clued you into that. If you honestly think the politicians are the ones in ultimate control of the governemt then you need to really do more research. Try to remember our government is the best money can BUY.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2"But, every President going back to Washington would be in the clink."
And that would be bad why?? - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Even bears??
- rainergamer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2So wasn't Al Gore's recent, untrue allegation that he had eaten an endangered fish or some other dumb ***** at his daughter's wedding reception all over the news?
That damned liberal media! - Babykitkat, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Webster Tarpley Strongly Endorses Impeachment NOW, to Stop the Next False Flag Attack
http://www.911blogger.com/node/10130 - DesuKN, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2It's less bad if someone else did it before us! Especially if we didn't try to do anything about it!
- Jamihabs, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2In this case, it appears that a Bush appointee has the nerve to stand up to a bunch of hysterical environmentalists who, in many cases are more anti-capitalists than pro-environment. Good for her and good for Bush. It’s about time.
- Bdog2g2, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2"Animals have been becoming extinct for millions of years"
While, true, those animals have become extinct via natural means. Man is the one species that can cause, unnaturally, the extinction of most species on Earth. With that ability, we have the responsibility not to allow that to happen. - Quijibow, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Game over man! Game over!
- coyoteblue, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1but you'll kill all the escorts!
- coyoteblue, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1just because its normal doesn't mean it's not wrong....
- DesuKN, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1That DID happen. Don't you remember the colonoscopy?
- Jamihabs, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Here is a much more balanced article that presents both sides.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/10/29/AR2006102900776.html - FreddieFalcon, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1The best response is to send you to this Wikipedia article which summarizes many examples. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politicization_of_science
I am surprised this is the first you have heard of these. - norman619, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Way to miss the point
- FreddieFalcon, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Agreed. The Post does a nice job. Unfortunately, the article is approaching a year old. Since then, a federal Inspector General's audit turned up additional information that caused her to resign and her former boss to review her conduct and attempt to rectify it. It is what it is.
- Veritas77, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Put it under politics, douchebag, this isn't environmental news.
- norman619, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Wrong. Your tax money is being used to pay the interest on the national debt. None of your tax money actually goes to pay for services or run the government. Don't feel bad yours is a wide spread misconception of how our tax dollars are used.
- DesuKN, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Name one good thing Bush appointees have done.
