Beetles Tour New England, Destroy Everything In Their Path

news.nationalgeographic.com — Like many Americans these beetles entered the US through Brooklyn, migrated to NJ, Chicago and New England. As they move into an area, they are clearing entire forests. Wish this was a joke, these beetles can potentially cause millions and millions of dollars in damage.

I went camping, and every tree I could see for miles was dead or dying. In a couple years, there will be no forest left in many of those areas... all that will be there is kindling waiting to set off a huge wildfire. It's hard to describe how sad it is without standing in it for yourself.

    A pity as I love the stuff, but I don't eat platinum either.

    (Mother Nature as always knows best - the beetles will have to be burned out to get rid of them.)
