His argument also assumes that we will always be using carbon emitting cars. If our cars became green, then his argument also fails. This man represents everything that is skewed in the car mentality of selfishness.
- MentalMindfield, on 08/27/2008, -0/+1It's kind of difficult to call Mr. Anderson anti-bike, considering he doesn't have a car, according to the article. The article spells him not so much as anti-bike, but as challenging the environmental impact of increasing lanes, etc. to accommodate bicyclists. He also seems to be anti-bicyclists, rather than anti-bike. He's not against the plan, only against the reasoning behind the plan. It is ironic, though, isn't it? A man without a car challenging the bike plan in a city known for its bicycle friendliness. LOL
- staciezuum, on 08/22/2008, -0/+0It's very sad that one man with lack of vision is able to hinder a progressive movement to adopt alternative transportation than cars.
We're working on a very small electric vehicle that's considered an electric bicycle - I wonder if there will be objections to this in San Francisco? It seems like we're having a hard time get a good answer from officials, so we're going on a 700 mile ride on public roads, bike paths, and trails, to see what the reaction really is.
