It had the one long horn, one big eye
I commenced to shakin' and I said "ooh-eee"
It looks like a purple eater to me - inactive, on 07/11/2009, -1/+5A green military? You might as well just give world piece a try.
- apickle, on 07/11/2009, -0/+3Actually.. the US Military (emphasis on the Air Force and the Navy) are very motivated towards greening up. F.E. Warren AFB just finished building a third wind turbine, much larger than the first two, and these power most everything on the base. Greening up is tactically sound, building a more sustainable power grid means less dependence on publicly-operated power, meaning, when we invade countries and they deny us power, we can still kick their ass (and when a military is used properly, for defense, this is a good thing).
:) - justdru, on 07/11/2009, -0/+2GOOD NEWS FOR GRIMACE!!!
- gigi52, on 07/11/2009, -0/+2Why would a positive step like this bring out all the idiots to blast our military. A lot of good ideas have come from ideas generated in the military and space communities.
- rjshatz, on 07/11/2009, -1/+3...Aliens collaborating with robots towards the downfall of humans?
- bebouchard, on 07/12/2009, -0/+2Finally my hordes of Purple Spice will be worth something.
- planetbeing, on 07/11/2009, -0/+1Give piece a chance!
(Sorry for being a douche; couldn't resist.) - MAGZine, on 07/11/2009, -1/+2Since when has burning trash been green?
- yerdaddy, on 07/11/2009, -1/+2Just shut it off. You can't get any more efficient than that.
- BossKey, on 07/11/2009, -1/+2In b4 "I, for one..."
- inactive, on 07/11/2009, -3/+4The U.S. "armed services" are on a slow crawl towards "environmental friendliness"...? Is this like less radioactive nukes or an army that won't pollute the land with the dead?
- BotchaMcCoola, on 07/12/2009, -0/+1I dont' know about idiots but there are lot of us others trying to stop their rip-offs of the taxpayers. Has wasting about $3-5 trillion and counting been a good idea so far?. 911 was not a military attack. It was a crime by suicidal Saudi terrorists. No matter how bad you damage this country economically and financially you won't be able to get revenge on them.
- gerrylazlo, on 07/13/2009, -0/+1A Military is a force that is sponsored and supported by the nation it comes from. Terrorists are not. This is not a military action.
Also, don't blame the military for the wastefulness of it's actions. It is simply a servant of the decisions in DC. - gigi52, on 07/12/2009, -0/+1You betray your bias and ignorance to say that killing thousands by an organization that has declared war on us was not a military action. You are a fool.
- BotchaMcCoola, on 07/11/2009, -1/+2This ought to better motivate some 911 type terrorists.
- apickle, on 07/11/2009, -0/+1Yeah, the wind turbines on F.E. Warren AFB, nuclear power plants on every warship ever, and solar arrays on Lackland AFB sure are a pipe dream.
...
Except for the fact that they exist, ignorant Digg commenter. - apickle, on 07/11/2009, -0/+1Why are you rated down? Your comment makes sense, and the government has earned the cynicism it often receives.
Oh!
You didn't insert an anti-military phrase in your comment! Well. That just doesn't stand at Digg whenever the topic involves the evil U.S. military. Well... when in Rome... - EddieCW, on 07/11/2009, -2/+2I hope they've tested the environmental impact of the bacteria itself. Slow-moving UAVs don't exactly lend themselves to missile evasion, and purple bacteria spilling everywhere could have some bad consequences.
It's probably harmless though, as no one would be stupid enough to do that sort of thing, that'd be like going to war for no reason-
Zing, US government!

What is Digg?
