- diearzte2, on 06/17/2009, -1/+6Buried for only having buildings in the US.
Edit: Example, the Heliotrope in Freiburg Germany, it rotates with the sun to maximize potential.

- BrewmasterC, on 06/17/2009, -1/+3Greenwashed is more like it. As a rule, price = carbon footprint of construction. Yes the building might operate with 28% less power, but you still burned 10,000 gallons of diesel to haul in all the materials for it. /facepalm
- migitalwarfare, on 06/17/2009, -0/+2Greenwashing or not, it is putting the concept out there for others to see and perhaps influences them to make small steps of their own. I agree they should be factoring in the entire construction and material acquisition phases to determine what the buildings true carbon footprint is, but they probably justify ignoring these factors since "long-term" they be become less and less significant.
At least they're making an actual effort, instead of companies like Walmart, who are greenwashing the ***** out of themselves. They might be promoting that they're making huge steps to reduce packaging, and use renewable resources for power, but they make it next to impossible for companies to sell US made products in their stores with their unreasonable price restrictions, thus increasing their shipping needs and carbon footprint. - FritoPendejo, on 06/17/2009, -0/+2"alerts employees when windows are open"
In most large office building I've been in the windows don't open at all. - inactive, on 06/17/2009, -0/+1This Philip Merrill building seems like a front for some *****. Why the ***** are you going to use girders like that for an Eco friendly building?
I remember when Womans Day was only good for masturbating. - ShiftyBizniss, on 06/17/2009, -0/+1from that article:
FLOATING CASTLE
"This farm house looks like it's levitating but it's actually supported by a single cantilever."
Really? It looks like it's levitating? you be the judge:
http://gizmodo.com/photogallery/crazypads2/1001153 ... - inactive, on 06/17/2009, -0/+1Not so many are "green".
Most used concrete and steel
Most used massive roof space with no greenery on top.
The gardens were bland, unproductive heat traps
No hot water for heating
No real attempt to harvest solar energy
Hardly passive - Bananaboy8000, on 06/19/2009, -0/+1I volunteer at least one day a week in my community to help people become more green...these really aren't that green.
- nismerf, on 06/17/2009, -2/+2Does green mean has to be ugly ?
- mike8902, on 06/20/2009, -0/+0Where the ***** are earthships on this list??? *****
- Hellahulla, on 06/17/2009, -1/+1Buried for misleading title. Most of these buildings are white.
- diearzte2, on 06/17/2009, -1/+1I'm from the US, yet I still don't see how this is relevant.
- raza7370, on 06/17/2009, -1/+1it is good modals.........

That first building was clearly white. - ricksite, on 06/17/2009, -2/+1In the US we have things called trees. They shade the house in the summer and allow the sun to enter the house in the winter.
